Bulls vs TWolves
Guaranteeing a win tonight for the mighty Bulls. On NBATV some guy was on and they were talking about potential destinations for KG this offseason and said the Bulls had to be the front runner. They have the young talent, cap room, and draft picks. Plus KG is from the area and would have zero problem coming back home. If they could somehow keep Hinrich and Deng (give up both picks for all I care) and get KG I would be ecstatic. Regardless even if instead they have Hinrich/KG/Chandler I'll still be exstatic. Gordon, draft picks and Noc. Plus a future #1.

Google getting pummeled
Thats the beauty in short selling. But I think a lot of people thought it was over valued a couple weeks after its IPO and those people would have gotten killed had they shorted at that date and had they unloaded at that date they would have missed out on more profits. In general the trends of IPO's taking off seems to be back.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) My picks: Freshmen of the Year: Jamelle Cornley PSU: No contest. Newcomer of the Year: Marco Killingsworth IU: Yeah he's a senior, but also a newcomer and this one is also no contest Coach of the Year: Bo Ryan of Wisky as long as they at least split their last 2 games to go 10-6. That team has VERY VERY little besides Tucker and Taylor. Yes they are 2 great players, but this team's already poor depth was hurt losing 2 rotation players earlier this year, and they really came back from the dead to have a nice season. I know everybody will vote Thad and some for Alford, but both are blessed with senior laden, talented teams. However Thad will win, and that's cool with me. Defensive POY: Brian Randle ILL: Only averages 27.4 MPG because of foul trouble, but is by far the best defender in the league, and the 27 MPG are enough for me to give him the award. MOP: Vedran Vukusic NW: Most Outstanding Player in the league by a mile. He's double and triple teamed every game, yet still leads the league in scoring while shooting a more than respectable 50.4 percent from the field despite few easy baskets. He might be the MVP of the league too considering how awful NW would be without him, but I just can't get myself to give him that award. MVP: Terence Dials OSU: Simply put, the best player on the best team. Everything OSU does involves him, he's the best defender on the team, he's a major force on both ends, his interior dominance forces the other team to either let him keep dominating one on one, or double team him, giving open looks to those deadly OSU shooters. All Big Ten First Team: C Terence Dials OSU (not sure if he's technically a C, but close enough) F Vedran Vukusic NW F Alando Tucker Wisc G Daniel Horton UM G Dee Brown ILL All Big Ten Second Team: C Paul Davis MSU F James Augustine ILL F Greg Brunner Iowa G Shannon Brown MSU G Maurice Ager MSU All Big Ten Third Team: F Marco Killingsworth IU (loses focus too damn much) F Robert Vaden IU (same story as his teammate) F Geary Claxton PSU (picked the wrong year to be a good forward) G Kammron Taylor Wisc (explosive, but not always consistent) G Je'Kel Foster OSU (TAKE MORE SHOTS DUDE!!) Just my opinion, feel free to rip away. Btw, if Michigan State played defense at all, at least one of their three 2nd teamers would be a level up (I didn't want to put Dee Brown on the 1st team, he hasn't been all that great). Defensive player of the year...ERIK Hansen. The best defensive big man in the conference and one of the best in the country.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) FALSE! Thats more along the lines of what I heard. It sounded like the ratings had been strong for Scrubs this season and that it was likely going to be brought back. NBC has also been pretty consistent playing it on Tuesdays this season. I love the 2 in one night too.

John Sickels' Sox Top 20 Prospects list
QUOTE(HoosierSox @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) I didnt realize we had Clayton Richard. Didnt he play QB for Michigan. What kind of prospect is he. Ya, was a QB at Michigan (I don't think he really played though). He's a pretty solid prospect. Good arm, a little raw, but had a pretty good debut.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) NBC would have canceled "House" by now if it had chosen it over "Medical Examination". I've always wondered why the hell House (one of my favorite shows on TV) was made by NBC yet airs on Fox.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) The Show "Men Behaving Badly" starring Rob Schneider, Ron Eldard, and Justine Bateman. I really want that to come to DVD soon. Men Behaving Badly Info YESSS I was actually talking to a friend last week and that show came up. He was telling me it wasn't cancelled but something dealing with Ron Eldard (I think it was him) not wanting to do the show again. It was freaking hillarious.

Name the Movie!
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) The last scene was pretty good, where the QB and his girl are hiding and the gunman finds them. It is just a scene that leaves a sick feeling in your stomach. But you are absolutely right, the movie is insanely boring. Ya, you could just fast forward till the end and watch the last 5 minutes and figure the whole movie out from there. Totally retard. I don't know why I actually sat through and watched the whole thing. I think I was home sick so I had nothing better to do.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) Good call on Boomtown. Agreed...it was cool how they showed it from the different perspectives. Oh and I have to add Playmakers. Freaking NFL for cancelling that. I was hooked on that sports "soap" opera.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) NBC doesn't know how to handle a good, quality show to save its life. "Scrubs" has been up and down the TV schedule so many times, it's used to be so hard to find when it was on. No wonder they say the ratings are bad. I think it's the funniest show on TV this side of "Family Guy". They did the same thing with "NewsRadio", which is why it ended up getting cancelled. I'm surprised "My Name Is Earl" has been tossed around. Two other shows that were gone too soon: "Early Edition" and "Boomtown" WTF, they are cancelling Earl? I thought that show was getting good ratings. Everyone I know loves it (myself included).

QUOTE(juddling @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) yeah...that's why NBC has been burning off the new shows the last few weeks on Tuesday nights 2 at a time. i think they had a few on Wednesday nights as well. I'm not sure how many are left but for whatever reason....scrubs is on it's deathbed. :headshake Wait if your basing on that it may not be the case. I heard a few of the cast on TV and they were talking about it and they said the last word they had was that they were optimistic about being brought back. This was about 2 weeks ago (heard it on the radio).

QUOTE(juddling @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) one show i always liked was "The Mole" on ABC. a very well produced show that got hammered by the likes of Survivor. i also thinks "Scrubs" is getting the shaft too early. i have the first 2 seasons on DVD and cry laughing every time i watch them. Is it official they aren't bringing Scrubs back? I started watching it this season and I find it hillarious. As far as shows for me. Men Behaving Badly - Freaking hillarious (good old Rob Schneider) Futurama Jack and Bobby (I must have been one of the few to ever watch the damn show, but I liked it despite it being on the WB).

Name the Movie!
QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) ... Thats the retarded movie where they show a few students walking through the campus the whole damn time and it finally ends with the two guys going on a blasting spree of the school. Forget the name...but it was insanely boring. I got sick of watching people walk.

thinking about getting mlb extra innings
QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 07:30 PM) is that the number of total sox brodcast or just the ones with our annoucers. First year I will be far away enough from home not to at least get the AM signal accross the lake. I am pretty sure I am shellin out the cash to get it.....I want good enough quality that i can acctually see the ball, and I dont think that is possible with mlb.tv. a tip for you that want to get the radio brodcasts on the internet, the last 2 years when I was in Michigan I signed up for the SI subscription to get the free radio for the whole year. I waited a day after I signed up for it then cancelled my SI order, so i got charged nothing. You should get at least 140 Sox broadcasts. I was jsut quoting the price off the top of my head. For some reason I remembered it being cheaper than the other posters commented (well when you sign up early enough). But last year they ended up televising almost all the games, aside from Saturday afternoon games which are blacked out (well only the Fox games of the week are). I'd say 80 of them would be with Sox announcers and my guess would be that as defending world series champs, we should see almost all of them picked up. If it weren't for WCIU broadcasts basically every game would be on the schedule. I like it more than the TV broadcast on the internet because I like to sit down and watch it on the big screen in the family room. Plus I tend to record the games and watch them after I get home from school or work (since the games start up earlier on the West Coast).

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) The media, much like in politics, keeps playing up a total non story. And this just in, so do people on soxtalk. I don't know Kap. Maybe the media led up to the tirade by Kenny, but a 6 minute audio/video clip of him going off on Frank isn't a non story. Thats like President Bush going on a tirade about how much he hated Kerry (in public on video) where he called him an idiot and countless other things (directly...obviously indirectly politicians do all those things).
