  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) He didnt have a chance. Agreed
  2. Man tough luck these past two innings. Aside from Polanco's doubles there hasn't been a hard hit ball tonight. Come on Jose...get through this. Inning ender right here
  3. scotty...yes Now come on Guchi...just like earlier in the year, clutch basehit.
  4. Juan Uribe hits this one a little farther. I thought he got robbed of his 2nd homer tonight. NICE
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Did he throw 99-100 before and i did not know about it? He was hitting 94-95 all inning long. I saw a couple at 88 but he does that from time to time. Mosto f the time he was in the 94-95 range (like you said).
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Some rather lazy infield defense this inning, and it's put the tying run on 1b. Huh? Uribe did an awesome job just getting to that ball. Contreras pitched well that inning despite the results. I'd have him out there in the 8th as long as his pitch count isn't ridiculous.
  7. QUOTE(Lefty Of Love @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Man, whoever Seth McClung is he is dealing against the Injuns. His ERA was like 6.77 or something in quite a few starts (at least 15 starts IIRC). But if he gets a W tonight I'll be happy. Ill be happier if the Sox win though and happiest if the Sox win and everyone else loses.
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) You know, I agree with SF1. /faints They shouldn't 'celebrate' a wild card berth, yet. Not when the division is up for grabs. What was the goal? Division. Not Wild Card. Get the goal, then celebrate. But I don't endorse shoving my opinion up other people's asses either. Talk to the Hand
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) If the game keeps the same pace, we will be get the whole game in. About 45 minutes ago Hawk and DJ said the rain would be here in about 2 hr's. My gues s is there is about an hr left till the rain comes.
  10. Good pitching beats good hitting as long as a team that has the good pitching has some semblance of an offense. The BoSox have zero chance, imo. If I were a betting man, I'd say the odds of them doing it (unless Schilling turns into his old self real fast) are the lowest of all the teams that will be in the playoffs (with a possible exceptoin to the Padres).
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Everyone missed the joke... Of course, Big Balls is an AC/DC song. I'm much funnier in person. I picked up on it Cheat. But that may be a bad thing
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Wow.. you spelled grammar correctly.
  13. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Outside of Wakefield, yeah, it's bad right now. Luckily for them they have the big bats. Those bats aren't gonna get them into the playoffs. I called it in the preseason and it will hold true darn it.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Why the "?"....? I have to take it easy on the drinking tonight.. driving to Detroit in the morning for my last regular season game of the year.. Nice...if they don't clinch tonight, your gonna have a fun one tomorrow. By tomorrow night the Sox will have a playoff birth clinched. And steff, you should know by now...there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to my grammar.
  15. I don't really want rain. If it rains and the game somehow gets played we have to turn it over to the pen. I got more faith in Contreras shutting em down the rest of the way. But if it rains and doesn't stop till tomorrow's game, than I got no problem.
  16. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Look if we can't win regualr games we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.. We've won over 90 games.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Why is he always crapping on everyone? I know the last month and moreso the last 2 weeks has been stressful.. but damn. Who knows. I have as thick of skin as anyone, but I don't like it when someone craps there negativity on everyone else. It would be one thing if he did it every once in a while but anywhere he sees someone happy he has to go and try and rain on their parade. All I know is we'll be celebrating tonight. I gotta feeling we'll get a playoff spot tonight?
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Everett earned himself the starting spot for the rest of the year. As dire as things have been, that was a huge, huge hit. It livened up the mood in the dugout too. I think the Sox are gonna score a few more runs tonight. Folks you heard it here first, if the Sox find a way to get into the playoffs..there offense will come through in the postseason.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) And you didn't see me telling people I have no business telling how to celebrate either. Now move along before I bet you with my walker. Steff...I wouldn't wait around to see his response And I just had to correct ya for once....I think you meant beat
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) That is the wrong approach in my opinion. You don't want to back into the playoffs knowing you just blew off the last few days of the season. It just seems childish to me. And I never told you how to celebrate or whatever. Yes, if this course of events is to happen, I'll be happy, but it is not grounds for celebration to me. I see you don't read. Enjoy your break. Youve joined jabroni as the second poster I cant stand
  21. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) A row needs to take tomorrow off before we get to cleveland give Anderson the start tomorrow. what could it hurt? I agree, I'd probably give him and AJ another day off. Everett earned himself another start with that triple. Jose please please put it on cruise control from here. We could really use it again.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Wow. At least add some knowledge to the thread maybe. You dont celebrate WC clinches when your still 1st in the division. As since when does a 16 year old have to be childish? As of this current moment, your the childish one for calling me out. Mind your business, that's what I am saying. Whoa...knowledge, maybe you start reading a few more posts and stop trying to call out and attack people as much as you have been lately. Always trying to rain on people's parades. I got news for ya, just stop responding to my posts. In case your wondernig, Yes thats a threat.
