  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Yeah I paid the 50 % for mine right now. I figure no matter what I will still come on top. I figure I may just sell my WS ticket (if its only 1 all together Im getting) and using the profit as a HUGE discount towards my season tix. You could probably even sell the ticket now...than wait till the day of and buy one a little cheaper (since stuff is going for so much now). Although thats super risky. Me, I just want to go on Saturday. If I miss out on a ticket Saturday or Sunday I'm gonna try and get a ticket to the Bears game on Sunday, watch the Bears game and than see the Sox game at a local bar or something. I figure either way it should be fun.
  2. If you guys have the scratch and it means you get 2 tix to each game, I'd do it. I know I'm totally against scalping them, but in that instance (if it were me), I'd take the 2 tix to each game, go to 1 (thats all I want to see, I'd love to see more, but I figure thats my best shot) and I'd sell the remaining 3 games seats at the 1000 bucks they are going for. You basically pay for everything. Thats why I just can't see the Sox doing that. All that said, like Jim says, it still means the Sox get there money. Great deal for all parties involved, especially if it goes to a diehard fan. However, if its as assumed, I can see why brokers would be all over this deal.
  3. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) That's what makes the most sense, but the way I read it they will give you a chance at purchasing 1 WS ticket for EACH of the 4 potential home games (if available) for every season package purchased: Like you said earlier, you could make your season ticket money back by selling one or two of those WS tix. But the die-hards taking the plunge now are not going to do that, and even if they do, the Sox still have succeeded in selling a season ticket package. Actually, reading that again, you can even see that is being able to buy 4 tickets...1 ticket to each game of the world series and you'd be on the hook for 4 season seats. Or you could go for 4 tickets to 1 world series game. Basically your limited to the amount of seats you have total. However, it says for each ticket you purchase. SO basically anyone who purchases a World Series ticket in advance (ie before they go on sale) is on the hook for a season seat for every ticket purchased to whichever game they want to see.
  4. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) so you saying 1 ticket all together? or 1 ticket each ws game? Im thinking its 1 ticket all together. 1 ticket to 1 world series game of your choice. Thats at least the way i read it and I'm 99% sure thats right. I'm agreeing with ya. Hopefully we'll all be able to get a ticket at face or at least close to face. Its not a bad deal though if you get a tix to a world series game and spend a 2000 or so on a season seat as long as you plan on going to a few of the games. Heck, sell the Cubs/Sox tickets your entitled to and that will pay a decent portion of your seats as well as the Yanks and BoSox games and than just enjoy the rest of the games. There are some ways you can pull it. We just calculated or season seats in Anaheim and we ended up paying (actual out of pocket) 2000 for 4 seats for the entire regular season and postseason in the lower part of the UD behind home (about 5 rows up in the low part of the UD). Obviously ticket prices differ, but we sold some of our playoff seats and sold ocassional seats during the regular season. We also gave away a ton of seats to clients, but they aren't a bad investment and than your allowed to see as many games as you want at a pretty good price.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) So wait wait wait guys. If I purchased 1 season ticket I'd be able to get 1 world series ticket per game? No, if you purchase 1 season ticket, you get 1 ticket to 1 game of the world series (from the sounds of it, it is a game of your choice).
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Are you sure? Ya, that 1st line says your eligible for 1 world series ticket per season seat purchased.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) That home run could go down as one of the greatest in postseason history if Saint Louis goes on to win the NLCS. Wow. 1-2 count, 2 outs, one out away from the first world series in team history and poof a three run homer and you're down 1 with one AB left. Wow. That was a no doubter the second it left the bat. Holy cripes did he clobber that. Total hanger to boot.
  8. If you could buy 1 season seat and get 8 world series tickets I'd buy it, sell the world series tickets (some of em) and that would pay for that 1 season seat that I'd never use, which is why I assume they wouldn't allow for that.
  9. I'm assuming its a maximum of 8 WS tickets and thats only if you buy 8 season seats. My guess is 1 WS ticket for 1 game per season ticket.
  10. I'm sure if htey have this deal, they basically hold the exact number of seats they sold and will be in contact with you. You'll be getting your tix, I wouldn't worry.
  11. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) i am right now...so this is what i got "White Sox New Season Tickets Deposit Form Thank you for placing a deposit on season tickets for the White Sox 2006 regular season. A ticket account executive will contact you shortly to discuss the details of your order. " Sweet
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:10 PM) ok so for all the b****ing, did you own up and buy some season tickets? If so, can I have one of the world series tix
  13. I'd think it would be right around the 10,000 from the ALCS. They aren't gonna get more than 1000 from the new season tix plan and I can't see them giving up much more tix to corp and all that crap, since I'd assume they'd be giving out the same amount or near it for each round. Maybe 8,000 per?
  14. How the hell is that possible? The season ticket holder base is at most 12,000 right? And than some were offered the right to buy double that which would be a max of 24,000 but I bet half of them did it (at most), meaning 18000 out of your season ticket holders. Than MLB probably grabs up a couple thousand. But if capacity is 38k (someone tell me if I'm wrong). That leaves 20,000 seats between MLB and us. Does MLB take 15,000 tickets to give to different people?
  15. Curious, how many tix do you think will be available for each game? I figure 18000 have been bought up by season tix holders and than maybe another couple thousand to MLB and others, leaving roughly 15000 for each game? Is that a good estimate?
  16. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) If Team Gage scores big, don't forget little old me. [Today is the first time I ever used the praying smiley, so this is serious. ] Here's to hoping. I'd love to get 2 sets of 4 because than I think I could get quite a few of us Soxtalkers in and I just hope as many of us as possible get to enjoy the experience of a world series game
  17. I haven't looked, but I'd guess hotel prices could get jacked up with the Sox in the series (don't know how many people are traveling in). Of course typically weekend rates are cheaper because the business travelers are usually at home. Sometimes a great place to look or call is a Hyatt or one the nicer hotels that cater to business people. They tend to be very expensive during the week, but they usually are wide open on weekends and sometimes you can end up getting awesome rooms at a great price (just because a lot of people don't even consider checking with them when trying for a room). I know I"ve stayed at Hyatts (in Pittsburgh and Phoenix area) for as low as 49 a night on a weekend. Not saying it will be that in Chicago, but you never know. Priceline is always a good bet in Chicago too.
  18. That last one rocks. Crede's face says it all.
  19. QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) i know that in demand events sell FAST on ticketmaster... im gonna go to chicago on friday and come home on monday. the goal of course is to get tickets for both of the first two home games. anyone here have experience with ticketmaster online and have any pointers as to how to get seats before they sell out? I tried googling it for about an hr at work to see if there was some secret. No luck at all. I have recruited my mom, dad, and now 4 of my good friends to try for em. I'm working on getting some more people in.
  20. QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) we can most definitely still be pissed off Someone could walk up to me and punch me in the face right now and I'd still have a smile (if I had my teeth still). I am gonna do everything possible to get to game 1 or 2, but if I don't, its a great consolation just thinking that I'll be able to watch the Sox play in the WORLD SERIES on tv. And its for once not because I'm the White Sox in a video game

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Theyre making a Cabin Fever 2? I didnt understand the first one, anyone care to shed some light on this? Like the ending made me think i wasted time watching. It was a horrid movie. It figures, I think its the only thing that guy from Boy Meets World Did aside from the tv show (which is one of my all time fav shows from when I was a kid..hell every once in a great while if nothing else is on I'll still watch it). I must be the only person that actually enjoyed the Resident Evil's. I just thought those chicks whooping ass was pretty cool. Some sweet action scenes, not a movie you'd want to see in a theatre, but I can't say the movie wasn't entertaining. Hell, thats why I vote Transporter 2 as one of my all time favorite movies. I was crying for at least 10 minutes of that movie because I was laughing so hard.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) I thought i was the only one here who saw donnie darko... and loved it. Are you kidding qwerty. Its a damn good movie and I know its one a lot of people on here have talked about liking in the past.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) Am I the only person who doesn't laugh during that movie? Now I know why your so damn weird
  24. I don't care what ESPN, Jay Mariotti or any other person says about the Sox or Cubs or vice versa. All I care is what my feelings are on the Sox and I am really pumped up and I know 99.999% of all of us are too. We could be last on sportscenter following a world series victory and I wouldn't give a s***. All I care about is winning 4 more games this year.
  25. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) who are all these people that are calling if they are not brokers?? Sox fans that may have been turned off by the strike or people that were casual Cub fans that have watched this team and taken a liking to their style. They want to see the series badly and think they'd like season seats (maybe for there company or just for themselves) so they come in and buy them up now. Heck, there may be a lot of Sox fans who long said if the Sox make the playoffs and do well I'd buy and now they have an extra incentive since it would give them world series tickets. I would guess they may get 1000 seats sold from this at most. I couldn't see much more than that, but I do think you'll see a big time increase in the season ticket base and I could be wrong, they could get even more deposits than just that. If I lived in Chicago I'd be damn tempted to do it. Find the cheapest package, buy 4 seats and find 3 other people to go in 4th's with the tix and it wouldn't be all that bad, especially if your a big fan and would have the opportunity to hit up a lot of games as is.
