  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) No, but many Hispanic and Mediterranean cultures do. I highly doubt you've lived in America for this long and don't know that normally American Fathers don't kiss their sons on the lips. Usually a hug is about as far as it goes with American fathers and sons. But European's and latino and other cultures don't feel that way. It all depends on the countries culture.
  2. Going to be merging everything into here.
  3. I guess if the Sox opted to go with Brian Anderson as a starter, its not a bad idea to have a guy like Everett as a backup option. The thing is, I dont' want the Sox to go that route. I honestly don't mind giving Anderson another half a season to season in Chicago, bringing him up again late next year and giving him a little more time. I have no problem slowly easing him to the majors. I still he has things he can work on down in AAA and while it would be beneficial to be playing everyday in the majors, I still think he needs some more AAA ab's.
  4. I was 2 when the Bears won the Super Bowl...that has moved up to next on my sports priority list. I'll tell you guys whether I'm a Hawks fan or not at some point this year. I've narrowed my choices to Dallas, Boston, Chicago and Detroit. I like the history of the teams (well Boston, Chicago and Detroit) and when it comes to each team they also have a player I really like (Modano, Thorton, Chicago city factor, and than Chelios and Dasyuk).
  5. I want a World Series tshirt and hooded sweater.
  6. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) Obviously Konerko is the Sox number 1 priority and Thomas is number 2. However I think they have to try to sign Everett. He has been key to this team. he is a leader in the clubhouse and he might be a very good guy to come off the bench. He would also come pretty cheap. He brings an attitude to the clubhouse that was key to this team. Just like Pierzynksi that brought a swagger to this team. I also have a feeling he wants to come back. Git r done Kenny. Honestly, I see no reason to resign Carl Everett. If he's being resigned, I'm going to be real afraid because that tells that the Sox lost Konerko and made no attempt to find a replacement for the DH and potentially didn't do anything to replace Konerko and decided to move Dye to 1st and go with Anderson in RF. If Everett is brought back, the only way it would make sense is as a starter (or platoon DH) and quite frankly I don't want to see that happen. Plus, I honestly don't think he likes being on the bench. I thank him for what he's done on the southside and will always applaud him, but I think this is the last we've seen of him, unless of course someone goes down and the club trades for him again

  8. My god...and to think I'll never hear the end of always making fun of my mom for tivoing that show if I actually watch it.
  9. I thought this belonged over in the Season in Review Section, simply because it was such a great thread, but its also the epitome of what was the 2005 World Champion White Sox
  10. I wouldn't think about trading Aaron. Once again, he's getting way under-valued, imo. People have too high of expectations for Anderson, at least right away, and quite frankly, Anderson won't touch Aaron defensively and thats not a knock on Anderson. Aaron Rowand = A White Sox and he's not going to be going anywhere, you can take that to the bank.
  11. Chisoxfn replied to JoshPR's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    Great post Josh
  12. He was also in Anaheim for at least one of the games. I remember seeing him.
  13. I've long thought KW was going to be the guy that helped bring a World Series to the city of Chicago and I'm so glad he did it. This is a really great organization and its one thats in a position to make some consistent runs into the post-season. Lets hope this is just the start of something, but even if it is the finish...it was the sweetest finish ever!!! To Ken Williams...2005 Executive of the Year (in our hearts and minds).
  14. I can't wait till Soxfest...I hope every player is there because they all deserve standing ovations. Hell, I'm thinking I need to make it out to Chitown for opening day next year.
  15. Oh and just because I want to...I told you all, this club was special and destine. I figure nows a good time to say this since the search feature was off. I recall Fathom and I both talking about how this club would just go on a total roll once they clinched the playoffs and they did exactly that. Way to go CHICAGO!!!
  16. Folks...Soxtalk.com will officially be dubbed: "The Forum The Rally Crede Built". You will soon see that implemented on the site.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) AS MUCH s*** AS YOU TAKE YOU CHICAGO WHITE SOX ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS JERRY Thank you Jerry, Eddie and Co. Thank you White Sox. You've made whats been a great year, even better. And now I will be a World Champ for Halloween
  18. Ya, was putting up a link for a new fundraising venture for those that are interested in purchasing pictures for autographs or whatever else. End, shameless promotion.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Going along with what Kap said....I don't think the season would be half as special without this great group of fans. Completely agree. This is the best sports related event of my lifetime and I'm never going to forget this season, EVER. I always will remember the Rally Crede for my entire life and all the good times on this board during this magical season!!!
  20. Greatest sports related event of my lifetime. Thank you 2005 Chicago White Sox, for a season I'll never ever ever ever forget. And to everyone here at Soxtalk that I shared this season with!!!!
  21. I have a 40...fits me pretty good, but probably could have went with a 44. I've noticed some fit different. I'm 6ft (well half an inch under, but 6 sounds better).
  22. First lets win this thing...than we can debate this. Come on Frederico!!!
  23. Great move by the Bucks if you ask me. Magloire, when healthy, is a near upper echelon big man and will join a pretty good group including the likes of Bogut and Gadzuric plus you have Michael Redd, Bobby Simmons, and TJ Ford (who should be 100%). The Bucks are big time sleepers in the East and are much improved.
  24. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Jenks, Podsednik, and Garcia are all signing at the upcoming Sun-Times show. First shot to get a signed World Series ball. Prices are 25, 39, 39 respectively. I just watned to throw this out because in light of what you guys might fork over for soxfest tickets on the 2nd-ary market-it would be wise to order your tickets soon. I'm going for Freddy. PRetty excited about meeting him, I think this is his first public signing in Chicago outside of Soxfest last year (was he there?) He didn't end up making it to fest last year. He was on his honeymoon, IIRC. I hope we can win one more game...if we do, it will be the greatest Fest ever.
  25. I'll try to make it, but I doubt I'll be able to. Got work and by the time I get off it would be mad traffic to get down there.
