  1. I have a little thing in mind for the Rally Crede, but am waiting for the season to end.
  2. Great idea by the Sox. Being in the position I'm in trying to get tix, I hate it, but its a great job by Brooks and the marketing department.
  3. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) If I had tickets for this, I wouldn't sell, no way - unless I am 1,000 miles away and had to sell 'em for face to some fellow soxtalkers. Ya, if I had tickets there is no way anyone but me would be sitting in em.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Anyone know if some pro teams suspend season ticket holders for scalping their tickets... ? I've heard it so many times.. but wonder if it's just urban legend. Can't believe that would be true. I mean we sold our tickets for the Yanks-Angel series on the Angels website for 3 times facevalue. I'm assuming if we can sell it through there venue at a higher price, you can sell them through any venue at a higher price (assuming you follow the laws).

Welcome to Soxtalk....hopefully we can get 4 more wins this year!!!
  6. Totally unrelated note, but Brandon Wood (SS for Angels) hit 4 HR's in his debut in the AFL (at least thats what I heard someone say).

I know we all blasted him when he sent Rowand earlier in the series with no one out, so I think we should give him his props for sending Aaron on Crede's infield signal. It was an agressive call and I don't think many 3rd base coaches would have sent him. It put pressure on Kennedy, whose throw was off-line and late. Also Rowand really came up huge that inning, going from 0-2 to drawing the walk and did a great job hustling on the base paths.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:49 AM) My Dad is a Dodgers fan.....and for the first time ever....he said Congratulations on your Sox...I hope they win it all. Pretty cool. Tons of those in Iowa surprisingly. All my dads best friends were Dodger fans and a few were Sox fans. Odd considering you have the contigent of Cubs/Cards/Dodgers more often than not in Iowa. Oh and the twins.
  9. QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) I love the Sox. So does my Dad. Even though I'm out at school in Washington DC, I've talked to my dad after every White Sox winner during the postseason. I could never explain how many father-son conversation of mine have been driven by White Sox talk. I can talk with Dad about the Sox for hours. I attribute our close relationship to the White Sox above all else. Every time I see the end of Field of Dreams when Costner says, "Hey Dad, wanna have a catch?"...I get teary-eyed. My father and I love each other vicariously through the Sox. Anyone got similar stories? My Dad is not a fan of one team I'm a fan of, but I can say, just like you, that sports helped make my relationship with him what it is today. I can talk to him about sports for hr's and hr's at a time and we love giving each other guff over our teams and saying how the other persons team stinks. I was glad he was sitting next to me in Anaheim when the Sox clinched to go to the series and I just wish he didn't have a prior engagement that he can't break otherwise he'd be there in Chicago as well.
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) It probably would have taken me a week to spot that. A week, he pointed it out to us and I starred at his sig for a couple minutes until I finally noticed it
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) Why would we text when we're sitting next to eachother.. to the Ticketmaster Gods..
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) Duh... I'm exhausted today. Same here...I could not get to sleep last night, woke up for my morning classes and was so damn jazzed (usually I'm all tired) but I still got adrenaline pumping. Regardless, expect text messages for the rest of the playoffs, it seemed to work well in Anaheim cause they found ways to win.
  13. I should have some up from the fan perspective later today. Whitesoxmgr took a ton of pics on his digital camera and we'll be uploading them up onto the server later today
  14. Brooks...you da man...now score me some tickets and I'll pray to you
  15. I agree with what a few others said. If anyone gets a shot, buy your maximum alloted and spread it around to other Soxtalk posters. I know if I get em, It'll be Soxtalk members joining me at the games. Its gonna be great and hopefully enough of us get lucky and get tickets that all of us that can make it to the games will get that opportunity.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I was contacted by an ABC reporter who wanted to do an interview with me. I told her I wasn't news, but she could talk to me in 4 more wins. They asked me a question about the Cubs and If I'm worried because the Cubs had 3 wins and were a win from the series and couldn't get it. I responded with, were not the Cubs. We have our best pitcher, Jose Contreras on the mound tomorrow, and the best pitching staff in baseball behind him. They than asked me a few more stuff but I totally forgot what I said, they kept bringing up Cubs stuff and I flat out ignored it and tried to talk up the club and just said how sweet it is that they are a win away from there first WS since 59 and at the time 5 away from their first world series championship since 1917. No idea, if they actually used the interview or not. I know we got on on Fridays game in the group of Sox fans that were cheering our asses off.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Thanks! Ya, you did an awesome job on that Greasy. You gotta post up that Wallpaper you made too, cause that was sweet as well.
  18. OMG...I think thats my new favorite. So beautiful. All of you and goldy's work are amazing.
  19. One last thing...we finally leave the stadium...1st thing we see when we leave the gates is a huge lightning bolt streaking across the California sky. I had totally forgot it was raining cause I was so jacked up. Its now totally pouring right now (at least where I am).
  20. By the way, random note...did anyone see me on tv last night. I did an interview with ABC (Chicago affiliate) I think after the game by the dugout.
  21. I can't believe they've won it. I know how sweet this win was for me, but for all of those that have suffered far more years of defeat its gotta be that more sweet for you. What a freaking series...now lets win 4 more, 1 game at a time!!!
  22. Crede. Timely hitting, stellar defense and 1 of 25 roster players to be a part of the 2005 World Series bound White Sox
  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) We might have been separated at birth. My dad turned 60 last year and was 15 last time the Sox made the WS. He and I both have quietly raised a few glasses to Papa who isn't around for the ride this time around. My dad is 62 and was 16 when the Sox last made the series and he never shuts up about how his best buddy was a Sox fan and told him the Sox were gonna stomp on his Dodgers. I'm hoping this time we can get those 4 extra wins!!!!
  24. Some other cool moments from the celebration. In one of the team photos Buehrle hopped onto Jenks and Jenks was giving him a piggy back ride near the mound running around (it was hillarious). Than there was one of my personal fav's. We were chanting Big Hurt...Big Hurt and he looked up at all of us and said I love you guys. It was so cool. It was great meeting all the cool posters that were able to meet the games and it was just an awesome experience. Such a freaking blast. The other thing I vividly rememeber is jumping about 3 feet in the air out of my seat when they originally called AJ out. I saw Escobar holding the ball high in his bare hand when he tagged AJ with his glove and I was going absolutely nuts (I'm usually rather quiet at a game) and I was so happy when they made the right call. Than when Crede came through and Rowand was rounding 3rd I was going nuts and when I saw the throw and knew it was offline I jumped 3 feet in the air again (and for those that don't know me, I got white man hops so the adrenaline is what caused that jumpage). So so fun. I'm so proud of these team and how great is this for all us diehard fans.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) You West Coasters did us proud cheering the good Guys on to the biggest win of my life so far. Here's to tailgating this weekend...Midwesterners, West Coasters, East Coasters...Sox Fans United
