  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) For some reason though, he's lost his power. He is too strong not to hit for power. I think it more has to deal with him always being so far out in front he ends up hitting the ball near the end of the bat so much. The new leg kick seems to keep him back a bit longer and I think that will lead to some more power.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) I have hope that Uribe's new leg kick is helping him see the ball better. He hasn't been chasing as many bad pitches lately. He's also been a lot more patient ever since his sessions with Hrniak. I think he's on the brink of getting to last years form and let me tell ya, that would be a major upgrade.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) If we make the playoffs, I'm praying for a first round matchup with Anahiem. Out of Oakland/Boston/New York/Cleveland, I think we match up best with Anahiem. I don't think their offense is that strong, and I think we have better pitching. JMO, though... I'm not talking playoffs and the Sox anymore, but Oakland and Anaheim are my choices and in that order. They are thorns in the Sox side and if the Sox are going to make it to the big game I want them to go through the best.
  4. 1st place is 1st place...I'll take it every time, especially when were talking about a 6 game lead.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) With the spin on that ball, I was pretty certain that was going to eat up Uribe. That grounder definitely would have went 5-hole on Valentin. I was worried when I saw the feed to Guchi. It looked low.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) LOL. Seriously, though, I want Oakland to win just so I can hear what Phlaschke and Brantley have to say when they were wrong. I want both Oakland and Anaheim in the playoffs.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Please don't let this be a carbon copy of the Mariners game on Saturday where we basically stop scoring after the first few innings. It won't...have faith or take some uppers
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) What was the email? Worse outfield collisions and if they had any part in them.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Let's go Oak-land ! Suspend Keith...CLAP CLAP CLAP
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Make sure you take a sign asking the Great Erstad not to sign with the White Sox! Sox are saving their funds for Steve Finley...ie Griffey light
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Timo had burritos for lunch?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Are you more nervous or excited tonight? I'm excited. They are winning this game Plus in a few minutes heading out to see Zito vs Colon
  13. Whose ready for some more White Sox runs????? Cause they are a coming
  14. Mac just goes back and makes another good pitch...WOOT
  15. Damn, talk about ballsy. I love that pitch sequence right there. Talk about throwing changeups and totally has Mench tied up. Too bad Widgemeister drops it. Battle through it Mac
  16. Where the heck was that 2-2 pitch that Bmac threw. That looked damn good.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Except you needed 3 feet each side to be successful. My bad - had to do it. Touche
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Compared to the last few weeks, the last 2 and a half games have been offensive tears. All I know is the Dye is the key to this offense. He's the connecting force between the top and bottom of the order. I agree with you on Dye. He's a real key kog cause when he's on this offense has a lot more depth to it. If he's off, you can really pitch around the hitters, imo. That was a wicked hook Bmac just threw to Soriano. That ball just dropped to the ground and Soriano weekly grounded out.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) And a very nice outside zone also. That ball looked to be off the plate by a few inches. Probably was, but than again, so was Bmac's pitch to Texiera that was called strike 3. Of course I'm bias, I'm a fan of pitching and tend to think everything semi near the plate is a strike, lol. I guess its the pitcher in me
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Great clutch hitting by the top of our order. I still point to the law of averages. There is no way this club will continue to fail with runners in scoring position like it has the past 3 weeks. They are solid hitters (no this isn't a great offensive team, but its certainly capable of being a good one) and sometime soon the club is going to start hitting better than average with runners in scoring position. It will all even itself out, imo and I really think were gonna see this offense go on a decent tear at somepoint during the remainder of the season.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) He's definately trying to go to right field here. If I were the Rangers I'd try to bust him in on a fastball here. Shows what I know, stays outside and made a perfect pitch.
