Jermaine Dye or...........
Put it this way, if Anderson is still raking in a few weeks and Dye's average is still under .200, then ya, I'd be calling Brian up. I also think the Sox could give Gloadie a shot, although he's less than stellar defensively. The thing is, Dye is a better player than this.

Lol, Widger makes the play. I can't help but laugh everytime I see the ball hit to either him or Crede. I think that was the first ball hit to Widger today.

Jermaine Dye or...........
RR? Dye gets a little more time, but first off he shouldn't be in the 5 hole and second off, I'd start getting Gload and others some ab's in there. Dye is a good guy and he's healthy, he's much better than he's playing. Hell I'd give him a day or two off just to let him ease his mind or something.

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Carl Everett knows how to run the bases. Period. If Frank comes back and produces during his rehab assignment Everett will definately be getting playing time in LF and RF, probably replacing Dye if he continues to stink. Great Dye hits into a double play.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Dye should be PH for here. Let him it, I got a feeling.

QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) He has to this game would you rather Widger and Crede be tested? Surprisingly Crede looked alright the few I've seen. The range is the big flaw. He's got good range for a 3rd baseman, but ick for a shortstop. That and I'm sure he'd have some trouble as the pivot man on the DP.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) Drive the ball Paulie. Harris would have been gunned out at 3rd there if he went. Yep, Swisher has a very strong arm. And f***, Paulie hits into what sould of beena DP but Everett with a sweet takeout slide to bust up the DP.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) What happens if we get a lead in the top half of an inning then the game needs to be called? Is it supposed to rain or something? Because if it does the Sox run wouldn't count. I'm 90% sure the opponent always gets its chance.

Everett with a fister for a single and runners on 1st and 2nd for PK. Come on Paulie, basehit.

Ozzie opened his big damn mouth again...
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:00 AM) I can't believe him... AND This is one of the rare times where I'm glad Ozzie opened his mouth. He said some nice things.

Wizards @ bulls.
Just to point something out, but Hughes is from Maryland if I recall.

Bulls tonight?
Its not on for people outside of the Chicago area unless you have NBA TV (thank goodness I have it). Otherwise I'd of been swearing up a storm. Game starts at 5:30 Longshot, well for those of us in Cali it does.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/26 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
Trust me...Kenny thinks pretty highly of Willie. I think the reason you've heard so many things about Willie is the Sox are frustrated because they think he has the ability to be a difference maker. Unfortunatley you can't sit around and wait for a player to develop when your competing for division titles. Still, Willie got jerked around by the Sox last year and frankly he's a solid player. He may not be a star and he's not starting, but he's a valuable piece and has a fantastic attitude. He works hard and gives it his all on the field.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) Chisoxfn, So many have told me the following things: 1. Willie Harris was going to be traded. 2. Jon Garland should be traded. 3. Jose Valentin was better than Juan Uribe. So far I think that 2/3 have proven to be faulty, and Im hoping for the trifecta. Jabroni, Did Pablo make an error at 3b today? SB Trust me when I say your going to be correct on the trifecta. However we shall see I guess. Jose Valentin would of been valuable if the Sox had a righty to platoon with him. :

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) The game we won? Yeah I saw it. Don't forget Willie went 2-3 in that game with 2 runs scored, and a walk. Its funny what he points out.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Did you watch the Royals game that El Duque pitched? Just curious. ITs one f***ing game. How about we blame Konerko for striking out with runners on (afterall he's done that plenty of times) or blame Rowand for making a bad throw in a game (its happened). Ya, no one makes an error. All the great players go a whole season without an error or a mistake. :headshake

Haha, I figure I'm leaving this open till I go to sleep, then its gone....but I don't want to see any of the stuff from this thread spreading out elsewhere onto PHT

QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) yeah we lost, it happens. the only think i am slightly concerned about is that this is the type of loss that can put a team in a tailspin. we need to come out tomorrow and have a strong outing by freddy (day game for him again) and get to saarloos Saaralos is the same type of pitcher that has given the Sox troubles years past. He's a soft tosser that tends to keep the ball down. He's quite hittable, but the soft tossers haven't exactly been the Sox forte lately. Hopefully they'll be able to get to Saar and Freddy will be Freddy.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Nah man I've read your posts and I've realized that Crede and Neal are going to be sent packing real soon because you've said they suck so much. Funny thing is Neal's ERA has been on the way down for a while....Not saying he won't have any more bad outings, its baseball, every pitcher will have multiple poor outings (facts of life). But you'll never see him ever give Neal credit. Crede could finish the year at .320 and he'll probably still be bashing him.

QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Real mature, you cock. I was trying to make a point that, whether Harris played well tonight or not (which he didn't) he shouldn't be on the team, because he can't play shortstop, even if you and Ozzie think he can. The Sox have no legitimate shortstop behind Uribe, and they need one. That's been one of the biggest weaknesses this year (although admittedly there haven't been many). So be a mature adult when you post or go to another board. Point being...Ozuna has done everything better than Willie thus far this year. So if the Sox want a new shortstop, move Ozuna and pick someone else up. Personally I'm perfectly content with the entire roster at this point. I think Ozuna is solid just like I think Willie is solid and if Guchi goes down at one point or if Uribe gets hurt I have faith in Willie.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Willie has as many errors as Pablo. He has a higher batting average than Pablo. He has more walks. He has more hits. He has more runs. I chose the guy batting .250 with an obp of .286, over the guy hitting .360 with an obp of .420. (That is sarcastic) Willie is also an extremely good defender. SB Badger, were in unison on this one. Once again

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) You're a tool. Want to know why you got banned at WSI? Because you do stupid s*** like this. Seriously, why post that? You're cheering against Harris? And you call yourself a Sox fan? You're doing that to get a rouse out of me and Jason. Not happening. Harris >>>> Ozuna. Harris has accomplished more in his career than Ozuna ever will. Wanted to get me pissed? You did, congrats. Keith, I think he's gotten under the skin of the two least irratable people on this board. From now on...this is the simple response I have for his hatred of Sox players and the fact that he never is willing to point out positives (which obviously outway the negatives at this point of the season) :headshake

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/26 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Harris is not a great defender, he's an average defender at second base, which he wasn't playing, which is precisely the point. He shouldn't be on the team this year, he should be in AAA or with some other team. Harris blew what will be the first of many plays this year if he continues to play shortstop. The Sox need a real utility infielder, not one that Ozzie felt bad cutting. Than fine, dump Pablo's ass and pick up the utility infielder. Harris is a superior player to Ozuna. And Harris is at the very least a little above average defensively. He may not be a gold glover but I haven't seen many 2nd baseman with the range he has. He also has an accurate arm and plays smart in the field.
