5/1 Games
Technically speaking in Bham, but I know thats what you meant Andrew. I just figured since its always me getting corrected for once I'd correct someone else But ya that deal is looking outstanding. Now if only Kenny could get Bowden to give up someone like Owens for Borch.

5/1 Games
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Birmingham loses 7-4. Young 3-4, Owens 2-4. Villacis rocked, 6 unearned runs. Solid bullpen. Box Score W-S loses 1st of doubleheader 1-0. 3 hits as a team.Box Score Kanny wins 6-5. Liotta not his best work. Ricks 2-4, 2 runs, another walk. Box Score Good to see Ricks maybe getting himself on track. Thats 8 multi hit games in his last 11 for Owens which is damn impressive.

O fors
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 1, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) Gooch has the excuse of being new to the league though. He makes the best adjustments of any player I've ever seen. He's exceeded my expectations so far. Ya, I just love his swing. One pitch he'll look way off and then next pitch he's made the adjustment and he hits it hard. He's been a very pleasant surprise.

McCarthy???
He was a little banged up at the end of spring but he's starting to get back in his groove. Although Liotta, Gio, and Sean Tracey have all been absolutely dominate down in the minors. And a whole lot more pitchers as well. Thus far the Sox better prospects have been flat out amazing.

Gload to 15 day DL
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) at least Anderson continues to rake... .338/407/.623 with 4 HR's so far. The only bat that's hotter right now is Jerry Owens. After a slow start, he changed his stance, and since, he has torn up AA pitching. -- .318/.363/.341 w/ 8 SBs 7 multi hit games in his last 10 too. Owens is just scolding the ball.

Gload to 15 day DL
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) For all of you that b**** out Ozzie for PH Timo over Gload... I'd rather have Willie up over either of them off the bench. Gload has been awful this entire year and he's one of my favorite players (I just like how he's found his way up to the majors). Now he'll be able to go on the dl and then get some rehab time down in Charlotte. The key is he can get some consistent swings.

Favorite Sox Team
Just to alleviate the 3 losses in a row, how about we all talk about our favorite teams of the past. Mine would have to be that 2000 club. No team have I ever loved so much. The team I thought had the most talent....2 yrs club with Colon,Elo and Buehrle...WOWZERS that was a staff.

Sox vs. Tigers 4-29-05

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Because, it's a good discussion. Don't like it, no need to enter the thread. The Sox don't have to pay a second round pick or a supplamental pick, unlike the past two years, where they've had to spread the money out between the first round picks (Anderson and Fields) and the supplemental picks (Sweeney/Gonzalez/Whistler or Lumsden -- one of the two was a supp, IIRC). The kid's a top ten talent -- IMHO. We can really use some guys up the middle. Why not? I'm a fan of Drew, but his attitude is a definate question mark. I've long said I'd grab Weaver (I love pitchers) but as far as SS goes, I'd look at Long Beach State's shortstop. My buddies have said he's pretty damn good (I've never watched him that much) but he's supposed to be a lot like bobby Crosby and would be easier to sign. Then in the 3rd and 4th rounds I'd tend to draft those talents that have slid and give them more like 2nd round money. I'd rather see the Sox draft guys they can sign quickly and get into camp than someone like Drew who still may not sign. If they could owrk out a deal beforehand or at least have a price range figured out, fine, but thats not going to happen with Boras. Draft a guy you like in the 1st round..he'll get a mill to 2 mill bonus (probably right in the middle) and then in the 3rd and 4th or even another round later draft a guy that has slid and snag him and give him 2nd round money (700-900k). You'll get 3 highly rated guys as opposed to one.

Alright, I'm thinking FutureSox needs some wallpapers. If I could get together enough action shots would someone be willing to make a few wallpapers for some of the Sox top prospects?

Sin City 2 and 3 from Rodriguez and Miller
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Yah I kind of want a deeper explanation as to why Jason didn't like it. He mentioned the special effects but I thought it was the characters that were the stars, especially Mickey Rourke. I thought the effects were the only thing worth while. I thought the acting was piss poor (and they had all those big name stars) and the story was even stupider. There was absolutely no point to the movie. I was hoping the story would go somewhere or that something would happen..but alas nothing and they even did a pretty shoddy job tying it all in. It was just a HORRID film. You couldn't give me 10 bucks to go watch it again.

Sin City 2 and 3 from Rodriguez and Miller
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) I have not seen it yet but i find it hard to believe it is the worst movie you have ever seen. I sure as hell know it won't be the worst movie i have ever seen and i watch at least two movies a day. Too many good things have been said about it to be that bad. Every place has it at the very worst an 8 out of 10. Trust me when I say every place is dead wrong. I haven't seen many movies this bad. Only one that would even go along with it would possibly be Ladykiller or whatever it was. That movie was even stupider. Usually movies at least have some sort of niche going for them but aside from some decent graphics this movie had the stupidest plot and story ever. Maybe its cause I'm not a comic book person, I don't know, but I know I was shocked when I saw how many people talk about how great it is.

Sin City 2 and 3 from Rodriguez and Miller
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) The action was fantastic in HOFD, probably on par with Hero so I guess there was just really something about the Hero story that got to me. I'd also like to think that the romance wasn't the reason I didn't like the story in HOFD, but it probably was. I know it was for me. I just thought of it as stupid, LOL. On a sidenote, I've been growing tempted to start a site on my film reviews. I mean I could save people big bucks telling them what movies are garbage. Hell, they could just pay me the 9 bucks instead of going to the films

Baseball might be coming up short on seeds
I've never figured out how players chewed tobacco or did dip. But ya I used to always have seeds, but I'd only do it while in the field, but if I were pitching or hitting or running the bases I wouldn't have em. I thought I'd choke or something

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Yah I saw House of Flying Daggers, great disapointment for me in comparison to Hero. But I should have expected it as Hero is one of my favorites of all time. HEro was a really cool movie. I remember as the movie progressed It just kept getting better and better in my mind until I the end when I just said Damn that was a great movie. I was hoping House of Flying Daggers would too, but it never happened.

Sniff, sniff...
Steff I'm really sorry to hear that. It really sucks losing a pet...I think all pet owners will understand when I say a pet is a family member. I remember when my dog died it was one of the saddest days in my life. We had it from when I was 4 or 5 years old. I remember the damn dog used to run around and chase me and whenever I got home it would run over, knock me over (remember I was small and my dog was quite large) and would just start licking my face. Pets are awesome and it will suck but you'll always have the memories Steff. Very sad news though..all the best to you.
