  1. Its not on for people outside of the Chicago area unless you have NBA TV (thank goodness I have it). Otherwise I'd of been swearing up a storm. Game starts at 5:30 Longshot, well for those of us in Cali it does.
  2. Trust me...Kenny thinks pretty highly of Willie. I think the reason you've heard so many things about Willie is the Sox are frustrated because they think he has the ability to be a difference maker. Unfortunatley you can't sit around and wait for a player to develop when your competing for division titles. Still, Willie got jerked around by the Sox last year and frankly he's a solid player. He may not be a star and he's not starting, but he's a valuable piece and has a fantastic attitude. He works hard and gives it his all on the field.
  3. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) Chisoxfn, So many have told me the following things: 1. Willie Harris was going to be traded. 2. Jon Garland should be traded. 3. Jose Valentin was better than Juan Uribe. So far I think that 2/3 have proven to be faulty, and Im hoping for the trifecta. Jabroni, Did Pablo make an error at 3b today? SB Trust me when I say your going to be correct on the trifecta. However we shall see I guess. Jose Valentin would of been valuable if the Sox had a righty to platoon with him. :
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) The game we won? Yeah I saw it. Don't forget Willie went 2-3 in that game with 2 runs scored, and a walk. Its funny what he points out.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Did you watch the Royals game that El Duque pitched? Just curious. ITs one f***ing game. How about we blame Konerko for striking out with runners on (afterall he's done that plenty of times) or blame Rowand for making a bad throw in a game (its happened). Ya, no one makes an error. All the great players go a whole season without an error or a mistake. :headshake
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) You are blind. Plain and simple you are a moron, sorry. Sure this thread will be closed soon considering all the insults throughout. Haha, I figure I'm leaving this open till I go to sleep, then its gone....but I don't want to see any of the stuff from this thread spreading out elsewhere onto PHT
  7. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) yeah we lost, it happens. the only think i am slightly concerned about is that this is the type of loss that can put a team in a tailspin. we need to come out tomorrow and have a strong outing by freddy (day game for him again) and get to saarloos Saaralos is the same type of pitcher that has given the Sox troubles years past. He's a soft tosser that tends to keep the ball down. He's quite hittable, but the soft tossers haven't exactly been the Sox forte lately. Hopefully they'll be able to get to Saar and Freddy will be Freddy.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Nah man I've read your posts and I've realized that Crede and Neal are going to be sent packing real soon because you've said they suck so much. Funny thing is Neal's ERA has been on the way down for a while....Not saying he won't have any more bad outings, its baseball, every pitcher will have multiple poor outings (facts of life). But you'll never see him ever give Neal credit. Crede could finish the year at .320 and he'll probably still be bashing him.
  9. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Real mature, you cock. I was trying to make a point that, whether Harris played well tonight or not (which he didn't) he shouldn't be on the team, because he can't play shortstop, even if you and Ozzie think he can. The Sox have no legitimate shortstop behind Uribe, and they need one. That's been one of the biggest weaknesses this year (although admittedly there haven't been many). So be a mature adult when you post or go to another board. Point being...Ozuna has done everything better than Willie thus far this year. So if the Sox want a new shortstop, move Ozuna and pick someone else up. Personally I'm perfectly content with the entire roster at this point. I think Ozuna is solid just like I think Willie is solid and if Guchi goes down at one point or if Uribe gets hurt I have faith in Willie.
  10. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Willie has as many errors as Pablo. He has a higher batting average than Pablo. He has more walks. He has more hits. He has more runs. I chose the guy batting .250 with an obp of .286, over the guy hitting .360 with an obp of .420. (That is sarcastic) Willie is also an extremely good defender. SB Badger, were in unison on this one. Once again
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) You're a tool. Want to know why you got banned at WSI? Because you do stupid s*** like this. Seriously, why post that? You're cheering against Harris? And you call yourself a Sox fan? You're doing that to get a rouse out of me and Jason. Not happening. Harris >>>> Ozuna. Harris has accomplished more in his career than Ozuna ever will. Wanted to get me pissed? You did, congrats. Keith, I think he's gotten under the skin of the two least irratable people on this board. From now on...this is the simple response I have for his hatred of Sox players and the fact that he never is willing to point out positives (which obviously outway the negatives at this point of the season) :headshake
  12. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Harris is not a great defender, he's an average defender at second base, which he wasn't playing, which is precisely the point. He shouldn't be on the team this year, he should be in AAA or with some other team. Harris blew what will be the first of many plays this year if he continues to play shortstop. The Sox need a real utility infielder, not one that Ozzie felt bad cutting. Than fine, dump Pablo's ass and pick up the utility infielder. Harris is a superior player to Ozuna. And Harris is at the very least a little above average defensively. He may not be a gold glover but I haven't seen many 2nd baseman with the range he has. He also has an accurate arm and plays smart in the field.
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Willie sucks. He's not even a defensive replacement at this point. He has blown 2 plays in less than a week. :headshake
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) I love all the Willie defenders. Where were they when he almost blew the game against the Royals a few days ago while playing his natural position of 2nd base. :headshake
  15. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Ozzie made a terrible mistake sending Buerhle out in the 7th. But this game is a bunch of different players making mistakes. And if this game affects Ozzie, than he is not a manager. Some days things just dont go your way, you dont think that one of our wins we got some bounces? We played as bad as we could, and we are only down 2 runs. You can not win every game. SB
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Jason, people don't want to hear that. They want a scapegoat. Oh, we lost 9-7? It was Harris' fault, if he doesn't make the error, we win. People don't look at the fact that Timo and Ozuna are a combined 10-for-48 on the season. It's pathetic. I'm sorry, but it is. It was the teams fault. They stranded runners, Buerhle didn't pitch well, Ozzie may of made a mistake, Dye and Willie and Uribe made errors. Sure people may chalk it up to one player, but its a team effort, its a team game and the team lost. s*** happens in a 162 game season, the key is to learn from those mistakes and don't let them happen again.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) WHAT??? WILLIE MADE AN ERROR AGAINST THE ROYALS JUST A COUPLE DAYS AGO THAT ALMOST BLEW THE GAME FOR US. HE WAS PLAYING HIS NATURAL POSITION OF 2ND BASE AS WELL. ANY MORE EXCUSES NOW? WILLIE SUCKS. I'm sick of your whining and complaining every time a player makes a mistake. First it was Crede, yet whenever Ozuna does anything your right there kissing his ass. Get your blinders off, just cause you hate Willie and Crede and whoever else doesn't mean they suck. Two errors aren't going to change my mind. I've seen enough of Willie play and I think most everyone here would be willing to admit that he's a better defensive 2nd baseman than Guchi. He has far more range and is a fundementally sound defensive player (no knock on Guchi...Harris is just a very good defensive 2nd baseman). And Willie is a better play than Pablo..hate to break it to you.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Willie sucks you tool. He just made an error at 2nd base against the Royals to almost blow a game. He can't play 2B or SS. Keep trying to defend the loser. It's pitiful. He's the best defensive 2nd baseman on the team so shove it. I'm sick of this s***, a guy makes a bad play and he sucks. Its a 162 game season, errors happen, mistakes happen. Willie's batting over .300 and playing good. He doesn't complain at all and gives his all when he's on the field.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Thank you Willie for showing us how worthless you truly are. You suck so bad it hurts. Ground ball and retard pulls an ole. Now lets go into the wayback machine, yes to Sunday where he booted another one. Thank you crotch rot Willie. This is why we lose in Cali. Retarded crappy defense. Dropping balls, kicking balls, balks. Crap on a stick. Shove it...Willie is playing a new position and made an error. He has played hard every game his entire career with the Sox. Knock his production all you want but you act as if he's sucking. Last I looked he's actually playing well. And as far as Dye goes, look he dropped the ball...but he had good fundementals (had his hand out to shield it and he just misread it). s*** happens. This is just an ugly game and will likely be an ugly loss. The defense has gone to hell the past couple days (that 4 error game or wahtever it was in KC and now this..ugh). Its the type of game the team needs to keep them honest. They play like royal s*** and this can be a wakeup call. They gotta step it up and keep improving. I mean it was bound to happen so why not lose a game where you just totally blow it with your own fundementals (that way the issue can be forced yet again and they can get their s*** back together).
  20. Damn I swore that was a wild pitch. I have the online version on so I can't tell that well. But Keith your right, he has a filthy curve.
  21. Dye actually went opposite field and had a nice level swing.
  22. Runners on the corners...Dye actually got a f***ing hit.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) You would be b****ing if the Sox were 20-0 right now. :headshake I would...its f***ing stupid to have Dye in the 5 hole. Managers make mistakes, but what Ozzie is doing in regards to Dye is retarded. Crede is hitting the ball, move him up to the 5 spot and drop Dye to the 9 hole. I'd even suggest swapping Rowand with Dye if the Sox don't want Crede in that pressure spot, but at the same time Rowand isn't exactly clobbering the ball either. Regardless, Dye hitting in the 5 hole is moronic.
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) Jason, how often do you get to see Duscherer (sp)? He's got a real nice curveball, and everytime I see him, he dominates. Not often, but he seems to be a pretty good reliever stastically. I haven't watched him pitch enough to tell you much about him other than his numbers.
  25. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) Cora is ok, but I cringe a lot of times when I see hin sending guys home. The Sox get lucky a lot there too. He was the best 3rd base coach in baseball last year and seems to do his job. Sure people get thrown out every once in a great while, but most of the time he's right and typcially the Sox are getting the extra base. I'd rather see that with the ocassional agressive throw out than the other way around. HE's not just stupidly waving guys home.
