  1. He's a chip - period. And getting him to play off the bench - he'll have plenty of minutes, especially on hot nights - is probably the best place for White to be at this point and it should help the team win while actually keeping his value inflated for a squad that maybe says hey - lets give him more minutes as a starter. Fo rall we know they will move Mark & White for something and than move something else and get Ball. Who knows.
  2. I keep hitting refresh to see what is next. Next game is Saturday. I literally can't wait for my kids to walk into the house to see his reaction when I tell him what the Bulls have done. His first question will be - is he good?
  3. Bulls can't sign Lonzo outright anymore - after this trade - so it kind of pushes the need for a move. Bulls reportedly also in on Gary Trent Jr too. I suspect we are about to see 1 more deal go down. Clippers also trying to get Ball - but Bulls likely have better offer.
  4. I doubt they trade a FRP pick for Ball. I would expect Lauri or Thaddeus or what not.
  5. I wonder if they want to see Vuc and Mark next to each other with Lavine, Williams and a PG. The spacing with both of those bigs would be good - the defense.....uhh...what defense?
  6. They can't give up that many 1st rounders in a row. Seems like Magic trade is the 21 and 23 picks. Would be curious if the 23 has higher protections on it. I'm more worried about that pick than the top 4 protected pick this year. You never know where you are 2, 3, 4 years down the road. I would have preferred this with 1 FRP. Signed next 2 years at a fair deal - so you can always move him if you want another better player. That said - I like this deal for the Magic too.
  7. You are right on Coby - 100% right. But Ben Gordon was a highly flawed player - you can't use too much of your payroll on a guy like him. He's a great guy to add when you have a bunch of stars as a bench player - but you don't build a team around Lou Williams/Ben Gordon.
  8. I say bye bye Carter - don't let the door hit you. Need to let the whole thing absorb - I'm just glad they are swinging. Like Bmags - I'd prefer a better player - but the good thing is they are trying to make the team better and not sitting on their hands.
  9. What is said is Lonzo isn't even that good - I just can't stand watching the Bulls without any PG. Sometimes I wonder - what would Lauri look like with a real PG. What would Lavine be if he had a guy who could actually take pressure off of him and effectively handle the rock late in games. The thing is - Lonzo - while an improved shooter - still is an EXTREMELY passive player. His usage rates are terrible and while I think he has fantastic court vision, good D, and ability to get to the hole when he wants....mentally he doens't use that ability and he'll never be great if he doesn't find aggression (and after a few years in the league - who knows whether that will ever come up). He'll just be a better highly limited player the Bulls have. Reality is they should be swinging bigger - look at Indiana and see if they could make a big deal happen. Just don't give up a lotto pick.
  10. This is very true - the front office needs to move its young players or hope we are just going through major developmental growing pains (I don't think that is the case on many of the Bulls young players). Lauri is still 23 so he's one of the few guys not named Lavine/Pwill who I can see taking a big step forward - that said - he is such a bad passer and has other limitations. I don't know what they are - cause there are times he flashes a skill set much broader than a catch and shoot big - but you see so many periods with none of it. And man - Wendell Carter and Coby regressed so much this year. Coby could learn from it and we see him break through a while (even though he has very evident flaws that I don't think he'll ever overcome - the type of flaws that will hinder him from being anything other than a real good sixth man - imo) but Carter.....dude just looks broke (relative to what he could be). Mentally he's just battling himself.
  11. You might be right - but I don't see it. I think after the top 5 - it could actually be that Trask falls even further. I think the teams that want to move up - will do so for the other 5. Also with the depth at oline and wideout I'm going to guess it gets harder for teams to priortize QB (Those that care will have gotten it and the rest are more looking at back-ups/flyers).
  12. I wonder if Bulls do anything. Thad and Lauri played tonight so would make you think they aren’t being moved. Bulls could get ball and adams for nothing - but than have to pay Lonzo and take Adams contract (runs for 2 more years...although a year from now it probably becomes a pretty moveable deal that can facilitate a trade for a larger salary guy. I don’t worry about tying up cap space - no major stars out in FA - but do want flexibility for trades. They should move Lauri now unless they think they are going to resign him. He is a tough one - best season and still just 23 - but has flaws. Wendell has just sucked and Coby is a 6th man at best. Williams has flashes and is raw but also disappears a ton. That said I think we can see him take steps forward cause he doesn’t have the flaws of Carter and Coby. They got to use these guys to bundle together and get better talent...won’t make them a title contender...but get better and keep upgrading.
  13. I don’t think someone said - hey we can trade up for a qb - I think he had a lot of bad options and said Foles was the best of those bad options. At the time - Dalton was not yet available so I don’t know that they had a lot of other choices. I can’t think of any good qb moves that happened last offseason.
  14. Damien Williams was a very logical depth signing for Bears at RB.
  15. In some ways I actually feel bad for Nagy - it feels like he almost pretty quickly recognized that Mitch wasn't his guy - now he's had to basically be asked which scrapheap would you prefer. You could say he had a choice - but its not like his choices were that great. He has had his own issues - but I still think he's a pretty decent overall head coach and I don't know yet whether I could say he's good or terrible at developing QB's. I know Mitch was okay - and I don't know that Mitch would ever be more than that. I also know Nagy was pretty involved in Mahomes early development - not sure what if any impact his involvement had vs. Andy Reid or just Mahomes being amazing. I'm sure most of it is Mahomes being amazing but I can't discount that. Pace has really done no favors for Nagy - he's had no line and minimal weapons most years. I don't know how much Nagy has been on board with all the moves or what - they seem pretty aligned - but I don't know that Nagy really could have told Pace much different on Mitch (at least not until the year he fell down).
  16. Yeah - that is why I like Trask. I think of the guys that have made it later - they were pretty sharp, highly accurate type of QB's. Trask seems to fit that bill and his lack of athleticism is holding him back....but not critical to being a solid QB. It isn't like anyone would ever look at Drew Brees and think he was a master athlete...but he threw dimes all over the place....same for Phil (although he was a big dude). Trask feels a bit to me like the guy who slides. The inverse is - I can't think of a lot of toolsy later round picks that turned it on. I am sure I'm forgetting someone but I can't think of it. Those guys usually are 1st round picks or they just aren't that good. I never thought Mond really dominated like he should have given his athleticism and talent he had around him...which makes me real nervous. Lamar is the only guy that really comes to mind - and that was more questions around whether he could be enough of a passer and how his body would hold up to the pounding. But he still was a 1st round pick...albeit late...who made a ton of people look stupid
  17. I think Trask has a pretty good floor - he will be a long time back-up in this league. Mills intrigues...for whatever reason never saw it with Mond. Too much mediocre play on film. Like you - I just take any of the top 5 and hope they pan out. I figure there is so much luck that goes into it that margin of error is high anyway.
  18. So Biggs said he doesn't think the Bears will draft a QB early. Basically hinted that McCaskey would greenligth someone like Russel Wilson - but probably wont' give Pace the ammo to move up and take a big swing at a QB in the draft. I suppose that doesn't mean he doesn't draft a Jones (if he were to fall) - but maybe Pace is just going to draft a wideout/lineman/young DB in first 3 rounds and essentially keep his picks, hope he drafts well and puts a better nucleus around and can take a bite at the QB apple again in a year? Or just uses a later round pick on a Kyle Trask. Trask is a tough one for me - dude is highly accurate, but ok arm / mediocre athlete...that said he threw times all over the field...with the only exception being that bowl game where he was a mess without his top 4 weapons. Are people overlooking that game or is he one of those guys whose acccuracy ends up making him a much better pro...it isn't like Rivers had a great arm/athleticism. Nothing about the above is exciting - but nothing about the above really sets the franchise back a ton - other than they probably end up with a 10-15 overall pick - but if they hit on the draft - at least you have put decent parts around and maybe a new front office has a shot at taking another swing at a young QB and can move some other pieces + the team should be in a much healthier cap position (both with the cap jumping and with some dead money coming off their books).
  19. I just got notified I am eligible - get 1st shot on Sunday at CVS. Moderna is what it says I will get. I actually wanted J&J - but beggers can't be choosers.
  20. Yeah I would want Top 5/10 protections in place. But Sabonis / Brogdon is an interesting concept.
