  1. RIP - Very sorry for Jerry and all their family and friends on their loss.
  2. I don't think Escobar was as good of a prospect as Burger was - so not sure that It is comparable, however, if you said in hindsight would I make that trade again - ABSOLUTELY NOT. In general - I think the Sox are a team that probably shouldn't buy a lot of rentals given how they manage their organization. They are a team that actually needs to sell its existing players a bit early to keep cupboards full vs. not because if they push all-in, they are really robbing from the future more extensively than other orgs (especially on rentals).
  3. I tend to think like you - if he is healthy - he's going to have a good MLB career. I don't like trading a guy like that for a rental the caliber of Escobar.
  4. Got to imagine he feels pretty good now that fans are back and vaccines are working. I’ve long said - Sox kept some ammo in reserve due to COVID and they are going to be positioned to push more chips in from a financial perspective (whether at deadline or in offseason).
  5. Honestly - I wouldn’t put it past kw to at least make a call down that path. Don’t think Angels bite - but it’s kw.

Who knew it would be Jake not Yermin who ends up being the story of Chicago by the time we get to the summer. I am a big believer in Burgers ability to hit and his mental fortitude to get to this point is super cool. I also think Yermin should be able to hit better than he is - so can't figure out how he got himself so mentally messed up.
  7. Yeah - That was a disaster.
  8. I thought it was absolutely stellar.
  9. The benefit of picking way later because team is good!
  10. Alright - back on track. Lets enjoy the offday and start streaking!
  11. I don't want to jinx it - but Frazier has to have one of the ugliest swing set-ups I've ever seen from a guy hitting >.320.
  12. Cause you see the long-term - including fact that if you take away that one bad start its even better. His stuff is good and he's developed a changeup that looks extremely promising.
  13. Thsi - Cease had a bad error - but outside of that has looked pretty darn good. So a bunch of sky of falling crybabies who are even worse because they are on a 5 game losing streak.
  14. You nailed it - the two of them together sound like 2 people just playing with house money and having a blast. Guys that really appreciate how lucky and blessed they are to do what they do and they genuinely seem to just have dynamic chemistry.
  15. Yeah - the overall energy in the booth is awesome. I have a feeling he'll be the guy that replaces stone whenever Stone is done.
  16. I overreacted and thought it was going to be 4-0, not quite barreled.
  17. I didn't realize how good they were - he is like the Stone Pony of hitting.
  18. Frank is awesome - never thought I would say that but I have to make a 2nd post. Hearing him deliver real insights and views is refreshing. And than Tim did exactly what Frank was saying after that 1st pitch where he pulled open.
  19. Even if Cease gets out - he has a real nice swing for a pitcher. His first swing was pretty good - I got to imagine all breaking balls from here on out.
  20. Frank has gotten a lot better over the years. And compared to Beckham - I like it - he has brought a lot of energy to the broadcast. Plus - who doesn't dig some one dog references. Speaking of one dog - did anyone know he put up a 7 WAR in his first season with the Mets. Never would have known.
  21. Insane end though. And man, clips could have had any one thing go for them and literally everything exploded in their face at very end.
  22. I’d take the assets and flexibility and undo the deal - but I get it and they could always flip Vuc and Lavine this year if things still don’t look right and they need to hit reset (trying to put a glass half full on).
  23. everyone talking about needing a 2B - this team needs an OF / DH bat badly.
  24. So I always liked Beckham - but I thought it was such a dull listen to. Benetti was pulling teeth trying to get him to tell some stories, etc, but just not natural at all. No surprise with this being his first rodeo but really not a good showing, imo.
  25. The only reason I would do that if I were the Bulls is if I thought Lavine was going to walk. I don't mind it, but man, Simmon's probability of finding aggression to score is so slim. I kind of like the hypothetical trade where Simmons ends up in Portland - feels like with him having shooters around him and a guy like Dame - that is a great fit.
