5 innings, 0 ER Runs (2 runs). Don't know the hits or k's. Someone can tell you. Good comparison in regards to Francis. Cause Francis is another guy that does it with control and not velocity. Still, I continue to believe and say that Bmac will develop some more velocity as he fills out. He's about 20 pounds heavier then he once was. I loved how when runner was on first you saw him just hammer the lower part of the zone and get the ground balls. He also overcame the error and calmed back down and got out of the inning. Fantastic outing.

First off, this maybe should go in the game thread, but the hell with that. And for anyone that has cable and hasn't seen a Sox game all year or hasn't been able to see Brandon and wasn't able to see this game, stay up late and watch the replay on ESPN 2 (I think it will be replayed late tonight) just so you can see him pitch and then catch his interview in the booth later on. The guy came in and flat out pitched fantastic. I can't speak enough for how far along his changeup has came. Talking to him this past summer down in Winston and the changeup still wasn't his best pitch and he was just starting to use it with confidence after developing the new grip for it that spring. Now its a plus changeup. Just watch some of the ab's where he got it over and how far out in front the opponent was. I also liked his fastball, varied from 93 to 89 but watch the movement on that and damn does he throw it for strikes something we've all known. But not only does he throw it for strikes, but he appears to be learning to waste a pitch or two and is doing a nice job throwing the fastball at the eye's and then going right back with his hook. Speaking of the hook, its a big sharp curveball. Damn was it looking good. Best of all his control of the curve isn't where it will be. One thing Brandon is is a perfectionist in a sense and I think almost all aces are because they want to be able to throw any and every pitch in there arsenal where they want it and when they want it. He's this type of guy and has no fear throwing a 3-2 changeup (in fact did it today) or even dropping in a 3-2 hook. Heck all you have to do on a 3-2 breaking ball is get it over and there is a good shot they'll be gone. Also one thing I noticed about Brandon was he seemed to go through hitters the first time and then changed things up the 2nd time and really started throwing the hook more, often times for 1st pitch strikes. I know this was one of the things some said he should work on, was just varying the way he attacked hitters. Folks...after today my mind has been changed. Start him in AAA. And if a Sox starter goes down he's instantly the 1st guy they look to. Zero doubt in my mind about that. There is only one exception to that and thats if the Sox are just calling up a guy for 1 start. In that case I may give the nod to Diaz or Hermy simply because I don't want to see the Sox bring Bmac up and then throw him down and just kind of bump him all around. On another note, I'm stoked cause I'll get to see him pitch later in spring because he'll be on the roster (as long as he stays healthy) until March 30th and will be starting every 5th day. Oh ya, Stoney and Brantley seem to like him a whole lot too.

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) i too think that MSU can beat Duke now, but the problem is that they cant beat Cuse. which is why i got Cuse over them and Duke but losing to UNC. My tough pick was Duke over MSU but I went with it. I have OU going down to Iowa. But I'm biased.

Steve Stone Joining White Sox Broadcast Tomorrow
Chisoxfn replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ya, I was going to mention somewhere that its nationally televised on ESPN. I'm looking forward to it. It will be the first Sox game I see all year. -
St. Mary's is gonna beat them I think.
-
Ya, I realized that and was gonna post the question in this thread and then thought and figured the hell with it, they should be pinned

This will be unpinned when the games start on Thursday and then the top of the board won't look as clogged. -

Gonna close it till the tourney is over. I will be pinning an official NIT thread though. I figure only one thread will be needed. Do you all think we should pin the 4 bracket threads as well? -

Sounds good to me. Or maybe I'll leave this open for NIT discussion? Cuase I don't think we'd need a seperate thread for that? -
Sweet, thanks Brian.

Sweet Cal State Fullerton made the NIT. Of course its total horses*** that they have to go to Oregon State. They should be the home team but alas, they have a minimal size arena and I'm sure its about the facilities in a sense. Plus OSU is from a big time conference I guess.

Son of a b****, I got a meeting when the Iowa game starts. I'm gonna have to tivo it or something. Or find out whether that NCAA package will let me replay games I missed.
-
Alright Gene...I just made one, but I'm leaving it to you since I see your gonna do it. Hell you do better stuff than I do anyway

Please make all posts about games related to this bracket in this thread. The teams in this bracket are: Illinois Fair Dickinson Texas Nevada Alabama Wis-Milwaulkee Boston College Penn LSU UAB Arizona Utah State Southern Ill St. Mary's Okie State Se Louisiana Edit: If someone is willing can they make a similar thread for the other brackets? I got midterms I'm cramming for. If not I'll make them in between the short breaks I take.

That sounds like a good idea to me Krush.

Home Alone was in Chicago right? That was an all time class back when I was a wee lad. And dare I say Ghostbusters, although I may be wrong and that could of been in New York.

Utah State over Arizona. As much as I hate Utah State they impressed me in big west play and are a very good shooting team with a ton of size. If they are hot they could definately take the Wildcats out. Of course Lute is a great coach and will have his team ready.

Bulls played like garbage today. I'd like to say more but I got a big ass midterm to study for and most of my day went to watching the Bulls game. They played good defense, especially Pike and Hinrich, and got a ton of open shots, they just didn't convert. They missed 3 layups in the final few minutes as well. On a random sidenote, Ric Brunson is the biggest turd in the NBA. I hated the guy when he was on the Bulls, although I know there were some Brunson fans here, and quite frankly I now realize why. Him and Pete Myers damn near got in a fight at the end of the 1st half. I coudln't believe Brunson didn't get called for a T. Myers was on the court talking to an official and Brunson came by and just gave Pete a huge ass shove and it wasn't one of those "I'm your pal type of shove and were just messing around' because you saw Myers just stare him down. Don't know if they showed any clips of it, but we were sitting real close to the court and got a good few of it and were just thinking wtf. Also, some really poor officiating in tonights game. On one play Brand blocked Eddy and Eddy was taken to the ground and was just laying there and somehow got called for a foul (it wasn't offensive either. He was just going down from the block). Then there was a play where Chandler was grabbing the ball (happened right in front of our seats...thats whats great about the Clips, 4 rows up for 45 bucks thanks to ebay) and he got all ball and his hand was around the ankle and bam, Chandler got called. On a more positive note, Deng was running around and part of me thought he was gonna play tonight although he was just wearing the suit. Looks close though.

For me its nothing but Southwest. However, Northwest is one of those few airlines that flies into the airport in Sioux Falls and on a few ocassions we've had some awful experiences. So much so that on the most time its either United (which brings us through Denver, which isn't good because Denver airport, mainly weather, has forced us to stay up there on a few occasions where NOrthwets goes into Minny which isn't that far of a drive if need be) or we just go into Omaha on Southwest. Southwest is really good airline. I've yet to fly Jet Blue, but I'm thinking I will this summer, hopefully they get a hub at Midway in which case I could be flying there a whole lot. And as far as travelocity goes or any travel site for that matter in regards to getting airfare, get it from the airline directly. It is not cheaper using those travel search engines. 99% of the time I find cheaper flights my own looking at the airlines sites. Plus no one beats Southwest when they have there specials. Also Southwest is nice because if you miss a flight there is no cancellation fee or anything, the money just goes towards your next flight.

Where did these pics come from? And they sure as hell don't look to have much chemistry. In these wedding photos shouldn't they be closer to each other? However, she is dressed nice and scantilious.

Tulane avoiced the sweep though, beating the Titans 13-9. They drew 17,000 fans in the 3 game series, including 9385 on Saturdays game which was held at a minor league stadium.

Yep, so did Jeremy Giambi.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) SIU is a 100% lock, and they will get around a 7 seed. Thats what I thought. So is the question that will be asked in regards to Northern Iowa is whether there conference deserves 3 teams or not. That may be what gets them in the end. Had SIU won the conference instead of SMS, I think Northern Iowa would of probably been a lock. Now they will probably be the last team in if it happens. I hope they do get in, just not over my Hawkeyes, LOL. I'll be rooting for Dr. Tom.
