  1. I thought it was pretty much a given that before any player signs a contract that they undergo a physical and that stuff. Teams may negotiate before checking out his knee, but I don't think they will dot the i's and cross the t's on the contract until he passes the physical.
  2. You'd be amazed at what TV does. That Kristen girl isn't that hot. A buddy of mine went out with her and she's just alright. But ya that show is waaaay lame and I'm from right around there.
  3. Rickey/Randy...could it be another Berry/Barry
  4. I don't doubt Contreras stuff so I hope they can turn him around. I mean Weaver turned back into something solid when he went to Los Angeles. The only difference is Weaver had a past MLB experience of success. Hopefully Contreras can pan out, I just think its stupid to give 12 million (this year and next) to a guy that pretty much is an enigma. I long said if Contreras pitched good it would be a good deal, but to me its just too chancy. Trust me, the Yanks are very happy they got Elo because he was only paid this year, Contreras is under contract the next two years.
  5. Bahaa, how about we just bring Rock Raines out of retirement. Sox are already paying him to be the base coach anyway, so it be nice and cheap
  6. Its all good, unless of course you propose dealing both Konerko and Lee in the same trade
  7. The worse part is they tempt them by putting all this good food in front of them. I don't know about overweight people, but if I had delicious cookies and brownies in front of my face everday, I'd of found a new hobby, lol.
  8. I'd be against it cause I think their are better things the Sox could spend 6 million on in terms of relievers.
  9. I have all the rosters on my computer so we just need to all submit our keepers.
  10. Amen to that; Isn't this the last season?
  11. Sorry to hear about that Jeckle. Good to hear your ok though.
  12. Larry King Live. I just think he's getting senile.
  13. I must admit, I do watch Real World. But other then that and Apprentice (its not that bad, even though I can't watch it cause I think Trump is a deuche) and possibly this rebel billionaire thing, all reality shows are garbage. I must admit, I thought Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire (the one where Fox lied and said he was a millionaire) was hillarious the first time around.
  14. I liked Surprise stadium, but your right all the parks are pretty nice. However, Hi Corbett is pretty much garbage in my book. My colleges baseball stadium is nicer, imo. And I'm not much of a fan of Oaklands digs, although they did renovate it. The Giants park in Scottsdale is pretty sweet. Wasn't their a rumor a while back that siad the Sox could also look to moving their somehow? I still think JR wants to move the team into the Phoenix area.
  15. Welcome aboard Tree. The stadium is really nice. The only thing that sucks in my book is that its in the Tuscon area instead of the greater Phoenix area. I was really hoping they would move down to Tempe because thats where my dad and I stay every year when we go out to Spring Training. Location aside, they got a tremendous facility and attachd to it is a very nice complex for the minor league players.
  16. *Shakes Fist*
  17. I was flipping through the channels and started doing some homework and I realized Gilmore Girls was on the tv. God is that the lamest show I've ever seen. Hell, I should kick my own ass for watching 15 minutes of it, god, who the hell talks this lame and how did this show win some award???? Anway, end rant. Anyone else got some shows that they just think are flat garbage?
  18. I'm sure I'd look really retarded on at least a few trades. But if I ever re-acquired Carl Everett in my tenure as GM, you guys should be scared, since he'd probably be in his 40's or 50's I like playing sofa gm though, its a lot easier. You don't have people screaming down your neck. I can't even imagine how hard it is to be a GM and to come up with plans, knowing that your plans really may not work out since you can't just make trade after trade rigth away, they are things that are build out of relationships and plenty of hours on the phone (Doesn't that sound like something else???).
  19. Ehhh, the grammar police and the Tommy John police are getting me tonight, lol.
  20. To be honest, I haven't really been one of the people thats all that big on Hairston. But since he's on the block and the Sox could use a leadoff hitter, I figure the name will come up plenty more. Just like the names of the Big3 and RJ will come up, although the Sox have actually been said to be interested in them in the papers. I have not seen anything saying they are interested in Hairston anytime recently.
  21. Well that be another story, lol. Two for two tonight on that. First Williamson, now this, lol.
  22. Gordon seems to be a good dribbler, but I really like Deng. He obviously has to work on his shot, but he does so many things well and plays really hard. He's a definate keeper. I think Gordon is a shorter version of Jamal Crawford. Sure settles for a boatload of jumpers.
  23. The big thing is, if the Bulls pull down a deal like this, they will have quite a bit of free agent room next year. Two years from now they are slotted to have money to offer a max contract via free agency. I think Eddy is going to have to play quite well if he plans on getting a big offer from the Bulls. Otherwise, I suspect him going the route of a sign and trade. I think the same could happen to Chandler. I wouldn't do that proposed deal for Curry though, although I do think Joe Johnson is a solid player. The only thing is, I'd be worried about what the Bulls could do in the low post. However if the Clips wanted to deal Chris Wilcox to the Bulls for Curry or maybe Melvin Ely and a pick from the Bobcats, I'd be listening
  24. I'll add the Rockmeister Rocky Biddle to this list since he was cut. I'm implying it to be a minor league contract with a shot at one of the back end bullpen spots. Two years ago he was solid and he was always well liked by the fans.
  25. The Dodgers want to then move Sosa to Colorado for Charles Johnson (horrible contract, terrible player) and Shawn Chacon (bad contract, possibly a solid pitcher) so ya, I think they would. It appears they want Green's contract off their books. 16 million is a lot and the Dodgers have some key free agents. They also are trying to sign Varitek, plus their in hous eguys like Beltre and Gagne. They are also loosing Nomo and Perez plus maybe another starter so they will have some voids to fill their. The Dodgers could definately use the financial flexibility and if taking on one bad contract (everett's, just a 1 yr deal) and giving them a backup catcher as well as sending cash the Sox way would get them rid of Green, I think they'd do it. I don't know if the Sox would. Its kind of like the Cubs, they would be lucky to get much value for Sosa. Sosa's contract is absolutely awful. Its probably the worse in baseball because he isn't Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez, while having a bad contract, performs on the field and does all the little things while also being a great guy.
