  1. Torborg would be a hell of a 3rd base coach, but would he be willing to take that position and would it put extra pressure on Ozzie. I'd think it would take pressure off. Just let Coop handle the pitchers.
  2. I like the hiring. I think Ozzie will do some good things. Any reports on who his 3rd base coach will be?

  6. Homer one New York Nothing (Trash continues hitting him in the face) You can have Crab Juice or Mountain Dew....EWWW, I'll take the crab juice.
  7. Do you mean JR? If so, I don't think anyone has an example. I think he's definately trying to at least interview minority candidates but I don't have a problem with that. I know JR is on the board of minority hirings or something like that. As long as the person is qualified and does a good job, I don't give a damn what color they are. I happen to also believe that Gaston and Guillen are the best candidates out there, although I would of liked to see the Sox interview Grady Little.
  8. Great...and I'm sitting here getting ready to watch King of the Hill. Well King of the Hill is my favorite over that. I'll still watch Simpsons, soley based on the name I guess.

  10. I'm still here Steff Marky, hope all is well with ya.
  11. So you go out and get your drivers liscense or are ya gonna pull a Big Hurt Be good Hope you have a good one
  12. Rose and Crawford are both excellent shooters. Rose is really rusty considering he hasn't played much.
  13. Barring extended time on the DL, I think Paulie will produce those kind of numbers next year. No doubt he's capable of it.
  14. My thoughts go out to the friends and families of those involved in this tragedy and for those that are still wounded, I wish them a speedy recovery. Nuke...you summed up my feelings.

    New Mod

As a new mod at the Sex, Lies and Politics board He's an awesome Sox fan and I think he'll do one hell of a job
  16. They will sign him if the Yanks outright release him, no chance in heck that they would take on that contract. Wouldn't make sense when they could sign Ponson for less than that. And this is coming from one of the loan Weaver backers on the board. If the Sox could get Weaver for a cheap deal and then add someone like Ponson, I'd be happy, many wouldn't, but I would.
  17. Ya, weathers always nice. Nothing better then getting to watch the day games. Do you usually watch all the Sox games or do you check out other games when your there?
  18. I think they declined his option - he'll be a free agent. Ya...for some reason I thought he had another year left on his deal. My bad.
  19. Agreed...the Sox could offer someone like Malone instead of Rauch. I think when it comes to minor leaguers the Sox should be smart. I still believe Borchard has value because he has such a high ceiling. Reed has defiantely passed him, but Reed is untouchable...well almost.
  20. The Angels new owner Moreno owns a lot of land in the Goodyear area, which is about 30 minutes West of Phoenix on the 10. It would be a dumb move in my opinion, but their was a good article in the register all about it. I do agree though, more people would go to games in the Phoenix area because so many people are from Chicago. The Cubs draw a huge attendance in Mesa. Also, JR lives in Scottsdale during the winter if I recall. As long as the Sox stay away from Oaklands Facility (Its pretty weak) and Hi Corbett then I think they are just fine. I think I saw where the Indians will likely replace the Sox at TEP. The Dodgers were going to move out to Arizona, but I think that talk has lessened.
  21. Thats why I like the Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale area more. Their are a lot of things to do at night after catching the ball game and such. I cna't wait for this spring
  22. Realistic? Well, not this part. Just because you put together 3 pieces of crap together, it doesn't mean they get more attractive to other clubs. I hope Borchard lives up to his potential too, but at the moment, nobody will give you a player like Nic Johnson for these guys. Well if need be, insert Jon Rauch and Joe Borchard. If the Yanks want a guy that could potentially be their future centerfielder then I'd think they would consider Borchard, plus if they got someone like Ginter and Rauch then it would be an interesting offer for them since they plan on moving Johnson. Ya, Borchard hasn't proved anything but the Sox aren't gonna give them Jeremy Reed. Borchard is still rated as one of the Sox better prospects by most scouts and I think their would be quite a few teams interested in getting him. As far as Beastly goes for calling him a pompous ass, I'd shove it. Borchard is a great kid that is very respectful. He has said numerous times that his swing needs to get shorter and that he's not yet ready for the majors. So :fyou for bashing Borchard. Just cause he hasn't lived up to his expectations doesn't make him an ass.
  23. With Ponson, I kind of agree that he would be overpiad, I'd must rather have him for 5 or 6 mill a year, but I really think of him as a little Colon. The guy throws a ton of innings, has great stuff and is rather young.
