The Sox need Elo to go deep, but lets remember the Drays have hit Elo hard in his career. He did real good his last start though.
  3. Is today a 4 o clock start for us Left Coasters?

Stanton would be a great pickup. He's having a down year, but he's always been a good reliever and I think he'd be an excellent choice cause it wouldn't cost anything but Gary Majewski or something like that to get him.

If the Sox are willing to add that contract then I'd rather see them go get Giles and Kendall or someone like Ponson. Now the plus side to getting Benson is you shouldn't have to give up anything for him (If they give up something (I mean a good prospect), then its a horrible move. Benson has a ton of health issues and makes quite a bit next season.

Padres also have awesome fans. I'd say they'd be one of my top places to play.

No way do they move Burroughs. His loved over in San Diego and he's gonna be real good. I see them moving Nevin, Klesko or Kotsay. Burroughs ain't going anywhere. He's the only guy for them to play 3rd. Nevin won't be playing there and if they traded the both of them, then they wouldn't have a 3rd baseman.
  8. 2k3...I had never thought about it that way. I think you brought up an excellent point and I got to agree with it. We'd never seen something like that. Usually terrorist take over a plane, land it somewhere and demand for some things. In this case there was none of that and even if we had some reason to believe that was the case, how could you know for sure. Anyone know where the planes were when they found out they were hijacked (in regards to the ones that hit the World Trade Center). I always thought they didn't know until it happened basically and if they found out when they are over New York, they don't really have the option to shoot it down. Awesome analysis.
  9. *going to merge this in with the other one*
  10. I would add Brad lidge to that combo and make it the best 3 combo. Anyone of them can close games and they all throw the ball 97+ I'd take Shuey/Gagne over Wagner/Dotel although the Lefty/Rigthy combo makes it real nice.
  11. Clark I couldn't agree more with your analysis on giving up Colon. That being said I do think the rotation without Colon and with those others would be just as sucessful (At least in the regular season) cause it would also give the Sox a good 5th starter, something I think is drastically needed. Now if I were the GM, and this is probably all a pipe dream, UNLESS, the Sox don't move Lee to the Pirates but instead get the Orioles to take on Konerko and the Sox give them someone like Felix Diaz and Tim Hummel. Orioles takes on a lot of salary and the Sox get Ponson in return. Then the Sox move Colon's salary to the Giants for at least Williams and Foppert and then I'd ask for a 3rd guy. The Sox in those two deals cut around 14 mill. Then they add roughly that by taking on Giles and Kendall meaning the payroll stays at basically the same spot this year. Next year the Sox would have to give Ponson a few mill raise, Loaiza and Buerhle the same as well as Magglio and I think Lee would get around the same amount as well. The Sox payroll jumps up maybe 8 million and they have Giles, Kendal and Ponson. And now the rotation is wicked and you have a great long guy (Foppert or Williams) as well as Wright working to become a closer and the Sox still have Koch (Who could be dealt in the offseason for financial purposes), Gordon (Resign him), Marte and if you don't keep White you sign someone like him. Career wise Ponson is a bit of a step down, but he's been proving this year he can beat the best and his stuff is great. Of course the Sox could just add Ponson and I think that alone would make them really good too.

Nope, just NL teams. Many places said he wouldn't accept a deal to the AL, but his agent said that is untrue.
  17. Chisoxfn replied to toasty's topic in Pale Hose Talk
His agent has said he is willing to go to an AL team. Not saying that team is the Sox.
  18. Olivo should never of had that at bat late in the game.
  19. Your right its your opinion, and its my opinion that its tough to pass judgement on other people without knowing them.
  20. I like the Broncos jerseys. Texans ones are cool too.
  21. Loan Officers are in control of the loans. They don't make sure people pay back, they are part of the whole sale lending market and if you want a home loan they help coordinate everything. They are pretty sharp people cause you trust them to find you the best rate, etc. Also, Shannon Elizabeth is pretty damn smart and I think we've all seen her nude in American Pie.

  23. With the rumors of Enemencio Pacheco going to the Texas Rangers as part of the White Sox Carl Everett deal finally squelched, Pacheco promptly pitched his way to his team-high tying eighth win as the Barons beat the Chattanooga Lookouts 6-4 in front of 3,117 fans on Thursday evening at the Hoover Met. Pacheco had been rumored to be a possible member of the trio of minor leaguers going to the Rangers for Carl Everett, but with the announcement today that Frank Francisco, Josh Rupe and Anthony Webster would be heading to Arlington, Pacheco took the mound knowing he would stay a Baron. When the night was over, Pacheco picked up his eighth win (tying him with Neal Cotts for the team lead) after tossing 6.1 innings and giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out six. The Barons got on the board first with a run in the first and third innings that were both scored by Chad Durham. In both innings, Durham singled to leadoff, stole second, was moved to third by Danny Sandoval and driven in by Jeremy Reed. The Barons tacked on two more runs in the sixth on a Scott Bikowski double that scored Gabe Alvarez and a Jon Hamilton single that plated Bikowski. Pacheco was cruising through the first six innings with a 4-0 lead before running into trouble in the seventh. Dernell Stenson lead off the inning with his 14th homer of the season before Jim Chamblee singled and advanced to second on a walk to Guye Senjem and then trotted home on a 2-RBI triple by Brad Correll to make the score 4-3. Pacheco struck out Andrew Beattie before being lifted for the left-hander Ryan Meaux who got Correll on a caught stealing on a failed squeeze attempt and then struck out Mark Schramek to end the Looks threat. In the bottom half of the inning, the Barons answered back by driving in two runs after Sandoval singled in Josh Shaffer and Alvarez knocked in Sandoval to push the lead to 6-3. Chattanooga cut the lead to 6-4 after scoring late against Meaux but Jeff Bajenaru came on and picked up his fifth save of the season after throwing the scoreless ninth. The series finale tomorrow will feature RHP Mitch Wylie (2-3, 4.81) for the Barons versus RHP Daylan Childress (0-2, 7.20) for Chattanooga. All the action can be heard on 101.1 FM “The Source” with Curt Bloom on the play-by-play.
