That seems like a pretty good deal for me. In regards to left remember we have Daubach. Also out of curiosity where is Konerko or Thomas? I'm still of the belief to make this deal, the Sox would have to move one fo them as well. I'd love the move though. You keep Maggs and either PK or Thomas and then add Castillo and Encarnacion (hit him in the 6 hole behind Daubach) with Jose in the 8 hole and Olivo in the 9 hole. Crede in the 7 slot or Jose could be there, doesn't matter to me. I'd really enjoy that type of lineup. Then for whoever you trade PK or Thomas for you do it for a pitching prospect or two to replace what we gave up.

Ya, I've been working on getting that damn thing fixed. For most people it works, but for me and a few others it says the name is taken even though it isn't. I've been reading through coding for a few days, only problem is I don't know what the hell I'm looking for other then a possible bracket let open, etc.
-
Steff I can guarantee you that there are no popups coming from the board. I'm the only one that touches the coding on the board and I wouldn't even know how to create them, lol. There are also none on the main site either. I have heard about someone having this type of problem and it was because they had a type of program installed on their computer that would automatically send up popups. I'm gonna look up in my email and find the name of the program and you could run a search and see if you have it.

I think Val could play center if the Sox said hey, your gonna stay here. He would have to adjust to getting the jumps, but other then that he'd have a strong arm and plenty of range. He wouldn't be worse then Harris.
-
Cabrerra could be had relatively cheap, simply because he's due a lot of money next year if I recall. It would be a great pickup though. I'd love that type of infield. The one thing I wish would happen in baseball is if players would renegotiate their contracts, kind of like in the NFL. I guess since they can't get simply cut there is no incentive for a player to renegotiate though. The big question thing with me is, don't acquire Orlando if it means they can't resign Colon and Buehrle. Robby Alomar could also be available if the Mets fall out of contention. Not saying I'd trade for him. Its really tough to find good middle infielders, thats why I'm so happy with Jimenez.

Pick to click Rules and Regs

Here's an idea with pitchers. Give them a point for each inning they pitch and then take a way 1.5 points for each run they give up. To make it simple don't punish them for walks or hits given up. Then they get a point for a win, lose a point for a loss and don't get anything for a ND. This way a pitcher goes 8 innings, gives up two runs and gets the win, they get 6 pts. Sounds like a fair point scale since he sucked. Lets say he goes 5 gives up 4 runs and gets the win. Well in this case he only gets 0 points so for pitching a mediocre game they'll get no loving. The one thing is, for them to be the PTC they really have to pitch an awesome game, but it would at least leave things open for pitchers. What do you all think? -
I'm taking Magglio too.

I tend to agree. Furcal is one shortstop I love. There are also some really good shortstop prospects around, but they would be a tough acquisition.

As usual I agree with ya Mario. One of my favorite things about DJ is wathcing him hit. He works the count perfectly and has an awesome eye. Then when he's down in the count he fouls balls off until he can get his pitch or draw a walk and more often then not he's sucessful. He also clobbers the ball. Rarely do I see him weakly pop up or something along those lines. He knows what to do with the bat. His approach is brilliant, imo. I still think he will get even better too. This guy has .330 hitter with a .420 obp written all over him, imo. On a sidenote, how the hell is this guy compared to Royce. Different position and Jimenez is one of the best leadoff hitters in the majors, he's also at least an average defensive second baseman and a solid baserunner (I'd say he's an above avg baserunner to be honest - VERY agressive, but more often than not it works for the best).
-
Supposedly he wouldn't be too tough to acquire. I heard the Orioles announcers mentioning that. I remember there was some talk about getting him last season.
-
How the hell is he out of options at 20? I'm just curious. Was it because he was undrafted or something along those lines? If he is out of options, he'd be a hell of a pickup.
-
Once again, thank you ugly. I'm sure you listened to Randy Jones and some of the others on Xtra 690 talk about Jimenez and others and I never heard anything bad about them other then from Klesko and Nevin and like you said, I heard a lot of that wasn't true. The big reason those two spoke up, is because Jimenez said some bad comments about the organization.

Umm, Mark has been just fine. His numbers aren't too far off from what he did last year and the year before. The offense hasn't given him a damn worth of support. How is it that everyone still loves Jose and Frank even though those two aren't producing (At least Frank reaches base). Heck even Maggs isn't doing crap, yet its Buehrle and Jimenez I keep hearing about. Those two are producing imo. Buehrle has been far from perfect though, I admit that, but he isn't a problem.

I agree that those two mistakes last night were costly. So far I give him two lazy plays (Throw at first and rounding the base last night). THe pop up was not a lazy play and him getting picked off at first was a mix of Jose missing the bunt. Every freaking player makes a mistake. Dangelo is the best we got, he's also one of my favorites. I love watching him play. I could give a damn if he's a dick as long as he's playing. Maybe its a little harsh, but I could care less about Bonds too. People yap about how much of a dick he is too, but does it matter, not really. Fact is he produces. Also, neither of them are beating their wife, getting DUI's etc. Mix that with the fact that he must have a great work ethic (Like i've repeated lately, you cant' come back from his injury without a ton of work and heart). Garret Anderson was always thought of as lazy too, turns out some guys really just look lazy because they can make things look easy. In regards to Jimenez baserunning he really is one of the Sox better baserunners. He's very agressive which sometimes gets him a bit burned, but overall he knows what he's doing. Im not going to make excuses for what happened yesterday, but EVERY player gets picked up or f's up every once in a while. Jimenez has all the freaking tools and is using him.

Ya, I heard the same thing and I do think Lugo is a pretty solid shortstop with quite a bit of potential. It was a funny circumstance the whole way around and I know a lot of people don't believe he did it. Remember, we had Wil Cordero around for a bit. NOTE: I don't endorse anyone that beats his wife because its one of the stupidest things you could possibly do.
-
Later Roman, hope your comp starts working soon.
-
Well, I am not a Jose fan. You can yap about his offense and he has good power numbers for a shortstop, but after his hot streak his avg is down to .250. I'd let Jimenez play short and stick Castillo at 2nd. Then I'd look for the Sox to move Jose to DH part of the time, but the Sox would have to move Lee, Thomas or Konerko for this to happen as well. Speaking of Rauch, I think we'll see him up on the big club very soon. If Garland has another bad start, I think it will be Rauch time with either Garland going to AAA. Or Garland going to the pen and White getting shipped out.

Your damn right I'm loving Loaiza Joey

I wouldn't bet on it either, but Borchard may be one of those guys that sits for a while before he finally gets it. Right now I think by July he should be thrown up here anyway and start making his adjustments here. Reed and Yan are two guys I really like in the future group. The Sox current prospects seem to be much much faster and much more sound players (Defensiely, base running, etc) which is something I am happy about. I really think Reed and Yan will be part of a very fast top of the order (Although one may be in the 9 hole eventually) because Jimenez is gonna be at the top of the order a long time, imo.

Good to see Bham came back and won. Looks like walks came back to finally bite Cotts in the butt. Right now I got to say Cotts looks like a similar pitcher (Stat Wise) to Kaz Ishii in LA. Gives up a lot of walks, but seems unhittable to the point that if you give up runs, its almost always their own fault. I hope Cotts can improve his control, but he may be one of those guys that just has so much movement its tough, ala Clement and Ishii; although Clement has improved it.

That is really weird. I wonder if he'll be able to make it. Right now if I was another gm i'd be on the phone trying to swing a deal for Hamilton hoping you could get him for lesser value, then convince him to get things back together mentally, cause he's an absolute stud of a prospect. How about Malone for Hamilton and we'll throw in some change
-
Your damn right I did. I have a habit of thinking some players make a game funner to watch. Jimenez is one of those guys for me. I love watching his swing and how easy he makes things look at the plate. I know laugh all you want now. I really opened myself up for those that think Miles should be the starting 2nd baseman.
-
Sounds good. I'll private message ya with the time for our minor league meeting on Wednesday where we finalize things for the prospect list

I like Milton Bradley quite a bit over in Cleveland. Beltran would be sweet too. In regards to Carlos, he could play first easily. He'd have better range then PK and his arm would be fine for the position. There would be somewhat of a learning curve, but first base is much easier then left field.
-
Umm, he's still the best offensive player on the team.
