Best Movie Ever.......
I agree it was really kick ass. The only thing that sucked about it was getting at home at 4 am only to get back up and go to school for an 8am class. Great movie though.

My pick to click is Paul Konerko.

5-15 PTC thread
Message me with the exact name you want and then I'll go in and simply edit your ESPNJohn name to whatever the new name is. The only change would be your login id but the password would be the same and the post totals will stay correct. I know what you mean about the code. Stupid bug in the code that I can't find.

Tonight's Line-up
Ya, I think quite a few went to the game today. I'd be in there, but I have to figure out how to fix internet explorer first.

How to keep obnoxious teens out of a theater
Ya I was reading through it during parts of work, entertaining everyone in the office with it. I could just picture you doing something like this Ian, lol.

Tonight's Line-up
Carlos Lee is stranded on third. Rios was able to get him over with one out, but that was about it. Konerko ripped one that went just foul and eventually grounded out and Crede did the same. To the top of the 3rd, 1-0 Sox.

First I ever saw of that site, some funny remarks over there.

Tonight's Line-up
Right here http://whitesox.theinsiders.com/3/chat.html I can't get on it, stupid internet explorer isn't working so I have to use crapscape and if I go in the chatroom it slows down my computer on crapscape. Caballo just ripped a double with no one out.

If you want to change your name, just tell me, but it doesn't matter to me either way. I will go in and remove the ones that you aren't using as a way of cleaning up. ESPNjohn1 is the one you use all the time correct?

This Could Happen?
Well then they should just release him. I acquire with what Mario is saying. For a long time I've felt that way in regards to the DH as well. To me you rest players and use the DH to play the matchup. Sometimes bring in the lefty, sometimes give Maggs the day off, other times give Konerko, etc. Right now I think the best thing for the Sox would be to get rid of at least one of the Konerko, Thomas, and Lee combo. I agree with Mario that Konerko/Thomas should be the ones to go. Mainly because Lee is a better all around player. Most of you would call me nuts, but he has good speed, and overall an outfielder is more valuable then a first baseman or a DH. That mixed in with the fact that he's got a good knowledge of the strike zone and could come a whole lot cheaper then the other two. I still think someone would be willing to take on Konerko, but the Sox would have to do it now, knowing that they have Daubach who could step in and replace him. I still notice that my pick for DH/1st baseman/left field (Fick) is starting to really do good with the Braves. I wanted him to be part of that platoon role with Frank staying far away from the Sox. I hate having guys in the middle that clog up the basepaths and don't produce. This team isn't really that far away, I just think they have to make a minor change to their offensive concept, by bringing in more complete playes. Daubach from the left side would be nice. He'll hit .270 with 25 hr's and 80 or so knocked in. Then find someone else to DH/play the field and the Sox would be alright. Thats assuming you move both Konerko and Thomas, which would be a hell of a job well done for any gm. Most importantly moving Thomas and PK means Colon and Buehrle could come back and you could even lock Maggs up. The Sox have to be smart about things. Anyteam out there looking for some more pop? If Moises Alou went down, then the Cubs could be interested in someone like Carlos Lee (Like I say, he's the last of that group I'd want to trade). Oakland could potentially use a first baseman, but I know most are afraid of that move. Heck, could you imagine a Konerko, Valentin, and someone else swap for Miguel Tejada. That would be nice, not saying it would happen. More likely it would be a prospect trade, maybe Byrnes and then a very good prospect or two. I'd love to get a hold of Harden, but ya right. The big thing right now, is who would be interested? Dodgers are the one team that I think would make a lot of sense, if Mcgriff's numbers fell off. They have a couple middle infielders and if the Sox could nab Itsturis it would be a nice move.

Chuck Finley
I don't know if it changed, but they would get 2nd round compensation if I recall. It may of even been first round, but maybe since May 1st passed things changed?

This Could Happen?
I am counting down the days till the Sox stop paying Jose 4.5 million a year. The guy is SO OVERATED. I still can't believe the league hasn't figured out that they could throw him a curveball every at bat and he would hit .120 Only reason he'd get any hits is that a few of the curves would be hung.

This Could Happen?
That seems like a pretty good deal for me. In regards to left remember we have Daubach. Also out of curiosity where is Konerko or Thomas? I'm still of the belief to make this deal, the Sox would have to move one fo them as well. I'd love the move though. You keep Maggs and either PK or Thomas and then add Castillo and Encarnacion (hit him in the 6 hole behind Daubach) with Jose in the 8 hole and Olivo in the 9 hole. Crede in the 7 slot or Jose could be there, doesn't matter to me. I'd really enjoy that type of lineup. Then for whoever you trade PK or Thomas for you do it for a pitching prospect or two to replace what we gave up.

Boog's WSI Profile
Ya, I've been working on getting that damn thing fixed. For most people it works, but for me and a few others it says the name is taken even though it isn't. I've been reading through coding for a few days, only problem is I don't know what the hell I'm looking for other then a possible bracket let open, etc.

This probably belongs on the help board..
Steff I can guarantee you that there are no popups coming from the board. I'm the only one that touches the coding on the board and I wouldn't even know how to create them, lol. There are also none on the main site either. I have heard about someone having this type of problem and it was because they had a type of program installed on their computer that would automatically send up popups. I'm gonna look up in my email and find the name of the program and you could run a search and see if you have it.

This Could Happen?
I think Val could play center if the Sox said hey, your gonna stay here. He would have to adjust to getting the jumps, but other then that he'd have a strong arm and plenty of range. He wouldn't be worse then Harris.

This Could Happen?
Cabrerra could be had relatively cheap, simply because he's due a lot of money next year if I recall. It would be a great pickup though. I'd love that type of infield. The one thing I wish would happen in baseball is if players would renegotiate their contracts, kind of like in the NFL. I guess since they can't get simply cut there is no incentive for a player to renegotiate though. The big question thing with me is, don't acquire Orlando if it means they can't resign Colon and Buehrle. Robby Alomar could also be available if the Mets fall out of contention. Not saying I'd trade for him. Its really tough to find good middle infielders, thats why I'm so happy with Jimenez.

Pick to click Rules and Regs
Here's an idea with pitchers. Give them a point for each inning they pitch and then take a way 1.5 points for each run they give up. To make it simple don't punish them for walks or hits given up. Then they get a point for a win, lose a point for a loss and don't get anything for a ND. This way a pitcher goes 8 innings, gives up two runs and gets the win, they get 6 pts. Sounds like a fair point scale since he sucked. Lets say he goes 5 gives up 4 runs and gets the win. Well in this case he only gets 0 points so for pitching a mediocre game they'll get no loving. The one thing is, for them to be the PTC they really have to pitch an awesome game, but it would at least leave things open for pitchers. What do you all think?

I'm taking Magglio too.

I tend to agree. Furcal is one shortstop I love. There are also some really good shortstop prospects around, but they would be a tough acquisition.

DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?
As usual I agree with ya Mario. One of my favorite things about DJ is wathcing him hit. He works the count perfectly and has an awesome eye. Then when he's down in the count he fouls balls off until he can get his pitch or draw a walk and more often then not he's sucessful. He also clobbers the ball. Rarely do I see him weakly pop up or something along those lines. He knows what to do with the bat. His approach is brilliant, imo. I still think he will get even better too. This guy has .330 hitter with a .420 obp written all over him, imo. On a sidenote, how the hell is this guy compared to Royce. Different position and Jimenez is one of the best leadoff hitters in the majors, he's also at least an average defensive second baseman and a solid baserunner (I'd say he's an above avg baserunner to be honest - VERY agressive, but more often than not it works for the best).

DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?
Supposedly he wouldn't be too tough to acquire. I heard the Orioles announcers mentioning that. I remember there was some talk about getting him last season.
