List your players
Players I don't like. Well if we are talking on the Sox. I have my doubts about Loiaza as well as Stewart. He didn't impress me watching him pitch the time I saw him, but he's obviously getting guys out and I can't deny that. Plus, I wasn't at a good angle the time I saw him pitch, so I don't necessarily trust my eyes. Have my doubts about Olivo offensively; no doubts defensively. Otherwise I'm pretty happy. Oh ya, I wish we had another shortstop, but I'll have to live. I also wish we had a leadoff hitter cause I still need to see Jimenez do it over a full season.

List your players
Yes, we're in Anaheim the 11th-14th, a 4-game series. I believe it's a Monday thru Thursday (since August 9 is METALLICA at the LA Coliseum!!!!), so the best day(s) for me would be Monday and Tuesday, since those are my usual off-days from work. Does Edison International have Dr Pepper? Or are they lame and only have stuff like Pepsi and Sprite? Umm, I think you can get Mr Pibb, but I dont' know. I know they have Pepsi and Sprite and Lemonade. I'll be seeing you all there

Sox on FSN...
Can anyone tell me how many dates WGN had during the early 90's. Were Sox games once as prominate on WGN as Cubs games?

Sox on FSN...
Sweet! I love Hawk, and DJ's OK, so I'm happy to hear that. It's so cool...normally I only get to see games on WGN and ESPN (how often does that happen? ), and of course when they play the Angels they're on sometimes. Now, I'm gonna get to see almost every game. I looked at the DIRECTV schedule, and the Sox are on all the time. It rules. Your gonna love it. I've had it for like 3 or 4 years now and I've gotten spoiled. I get so pissed on those WCIU days as well as on Wednesdays where you can't see the games unless it is on ESPN. I wish they did it like the other packages where there were no blackouts. You'd think if you paid the money, you'd get all the games. Oh well, I'll live with 125 of them or so Hawk and DJ are fine with me.

Beltran?
He'd be an awesome acquisition, but I think the Sox would first be better off to see how the pitching holds up and see just how Rowand does. If the pitching struggles, then the Sox would have to invest the money and find a way to acquire another pitcher. If the offense struggles (it shouldn't) then I think they will have to find a leadoff hitter, cause its the only real reason I could see the offense going kaputz other then serious injuries to all our key guys.

Beltran?
It would be a great trade for both parties, but it would also mean that Randa would be going somewhere.

Jeter hurts shoulder
Well, this is a board. The point of a board is for people to throw their opinions out and say different things. News is gonna be up on the main page. If people have ideas, they are entitled to post them here, and see what other Sox fans think or just share their opinion. Some will agree, some with disagree, but the key is for everyone to have fun. If people don't get along, then it can bring everything down. This board has grown so much, based on the fact that there are so many knowledgeable fans here sharing their opinion and having good discussion about White Sox topics as well as general major league baseball topics. I beggeth, that we all just take some breaths and end this thread without any more hostility.

Jeter hurts shoulder
Lets all come down here. Were all here for one reason or at least I think we are and that reason is that we all love the Sox. Therefor, lets take two breaths and relax

Jeter hurts shoulder
Quick question, isn't this the same injury that Phil Nevin suffered? What is the difference in severity, etc? I'm don't really have a clue. I know they said he popped it back in. I've seen football player just pop it in and then they play, but I'm assuming that isn't possible with baseball players because it can just pop back out or something? Or is it if its more serious, then you need surgery and if its less serious, no surgery is necessary? All you need is rest. Either way, I think he will miss some time. It was just a tough play all around. Hustle play by the Blue Jays catcher trying to get the out, and it was Jeter hustling like he does best, advancing to 3rd.

I utter your sentiments exactly. I think Jose gets overhyped and is inconsistent, but I give him credit for always hustling, etc. Defensively he's inconsistent (One day awesome, next day, uggh). Offensively he goes through huge up and down periods and if he could just stop chasing stuff in the dirt, he'd be alright. In general, I would love having a new shortstop that could field better and would be a more prototypical 2 hitter, but I'll live with Jose as long as he isn't approaching 30 errors. If he has more then that, I'll be sick. Of course if were winning, it will be a semi antacid. Its just in the world series, it gets tough to score runs, so you need every great play possible. The team that plays worse defense, typically loses come playoff time. Especially in the close games.

Disagree, that is a great idea. Jose simply cannot hit left handed pitching while Graffanino is very solid offensively against lefties and very solid all together as long as he isn't starting. If he's starting, then he tires and his numbers just drop. This is a great move by Manuel. Is he going to hit in the two hole these days or will Rowand move to the 2 hole on these days? I'm also assuming we will see Daubach get quite a few at bats.

notable x-sox
Well I saw Ray hit a leadoff homer to start in national league career and he also had a base hit his following at bat.

Report: Wright Meets Andrews, Surgery Not Neede
Ya. I know one thing, I feel much more comfortable now then I did before. Andrews knows what he's talking about and if he only needs rest, then I'm comfortable with that diagnosis and believe Wright will be just fine.

Report: Wright Meets Andrews, Surgery Not Neede
SN Report: Wright Meets Andrews, Surgery Not Needed By Mario Scalise April 1, 2003 SoxNet.net The White Sox received some good news on Monday shortly after right-hander Danny Wright met with Dr. James Andrews to check the severity of his elbow injury, and that was no surgery is neccessary, just rest. Andrews, a well-known orthopedist who has done many reconstructive elbow surgies (Tommy John), said Wright has a strained ligament, meaning all Wright can do is rest. White Sox trainer Herm Schneider said afterwards that because his ligament is in tact, they can begin the process of getting Wright back in form. Though, there is no set return date, replacement Josh Stewart is expected to make at least two starts, hinting a possible return by Wright towards the end of the month. Apparently Wright, 25, injured his elbow in the early part of spring training by overthrowing. Wright went 14-12 last year for the Sox with a 5.18 ERA in 33 starts and 196 1/3 innings pitched. He came into spring as the number four starter behind Mark Buehrle, Bartolo Colon and Jon Garland.

Everyone is kinda touchy right now
I think everyone was just real high up for the start of the season and getting shutdown by a poor Royals ballclub bothered people. Still its just one game. If two weeks from now were still winless, then we'll all have something to whine about.

What we are going to do is keep this board in a read only mode somehow. We haven't figured out all the minor details, but we'll keep it around so people can go back and read through the old archives and such. Then I'm going to backup everything, and save it on my computer as well, in case anything happens. After that I will save the post totals and do all I can to transfer them. I'm gonna be fiddling with the new boards tomorrow, so I'll have an idea of what I can do sometime tomorrow and will post it in this thread. If for some reason that can't be done, I'll try to come up with another idea, to serve as a reference to the posts on this board, something creative. Hopefully it won't come to that, cause I suck at being creative.

Bulls Should draft......
Wade is damn good. Carmello or Wade, I'm happy. They are going to trade Jay Williams in the offseason, or thats what I'm hoping. Trade Williams for a guard. Maybe they package Williams and a high pick for a real good sg/sf.
