Announcement Regarding The Board
I've started a bit of work on it. It will probably take me a long ass time though. I've been really slow at things. Its kind of a test, test, test process cause I don't even have a clue what different color schemes really edit and then I got to blend it all together and for a not so artistically gifted person, it leaves me with great difficulties. I did the colors a lot faster on the old board, but this one I really want everything perfect. And for those who don't want a new color scheme, the option will always be there to keep this one. Its going to be a thing where you can choose which color scheme you have by going into your profile. That way everyone is happy, unless they think my new color scheme stinks

Ach! My Retina!
Ya, I saw a couple on ebay for like 40 bucks and was going to buy one to be my first jersey, but don't know if I should. I think they are really sweet and they would match my 1917 White Sox hat.

Buerhle or Colon?
Well Colon is more proven, but I think Buerhle could win a ton as well. Its going to be close. I seriously see at least one of them winning 22 games. Its kind of this magic number that fell into my head. By the way welcome aboard. I am pretty confident that they will combine for 40 wins though.

since when did that start?????? I think its always been that way. I'm not really a stickler for following the rules. One day we'll get an email warning us, then I'll become more of a hardass, lol.

Make it once or always come close
yes but if i did that as a choice, there wouldnt be much choice anymore would there? Still, I'm with Witesoxfan. I'm up for a new category. Lets be like the YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!! I say 10 straight World Series.

Big Impact Player
Its got to be Thomas. If he steps up to his prior form, aka two time MVP form, then this will be the most potent offense in the majors and could compete as one of the greatest of all time. Of course other things would still have to fall into place and guys like Maggs, PK, etc would have stay healthy.

Junior Spivey
Speaking of Larence I know some of us have had discussions in the past about bringing him in. The guy is a really talented pitcher that doesn't get much love from the national media. Well, he's not amazing, but he would of been a sweet backup plan had the Sox not landed Colon. Thank goodness we did though

Announcement Regarding The Board
Well, got some great news. It seems like they have been able to fix the problem without having to change harddrives or anything. I was informed the problems some of you noticed were them working on solving the problem. Everything should be working great again

where u from?
I'm one of the many ones from California. I was born and raised here. The only reason I think I ended up liking the Sox is because my mom was from Chicago and for some reason I was interested in it, mainly because i loved snow as a kid or something. Then I would get to see them and the Cubs on WGN and Frank and Robin just became my favorite players. I loved watching the Sox and always will. Every since I was 5 or 6 yrs old I'd read the sports page in the morning and always check up on the standings and that type of stuff.

I want the Series badly.

I kind of like that look, they are bright though. Anyone know if the Sox uni's are changing at all, aka alternate ones.

Injuries
Ya, WSC, you got to post the links on stuff like that. Your allowed to post snippets of an article, just never the full thing or I think thats how it works. I am glad to see that Graffy is going to be healthy though. I've been waiting to hear news on him a long time. Hopefully he'll be 100% and be the Graffy I enjoyed seeing coming off the bench.

Puns with names.
I'm just not creative

Who will make it out from the Minors?
The guy will be a great leader out of that pen, even if we don't use him a lot. I love the idea of having a few role playing vets on the bench and in the pen. We got Alomar and Daubach on the bench and to a lesser extent Rios and then White and Gordon in the pen.

San Diego
I'm with ya all. Lets keep this stuff White Sox related on the most part. I wonder when the Sox will announce who goes opening day. I think we all know its Colon. The big thing I'm curious is whose going to be the 5th starter.

..thoughts on Paulie...
Those are the only other two that i'd consider, but ya, I do seriously think I'd take him over Rolen because Rolen has health issues when it comes to his back. Pujols is great though, so I don't know about that.

Minor Leaguers
Awww, thanks! The baseball team is the only team here at ISU that I even care about anymore (getting that graduation syndrome a year early, I guess). It's hard to see Coach Jeft Stewart go like that, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about our new head coach, who is "stepping up" from Evansville. I think they are going to impress people this year with Kevin O'dell in CF and Greg Blaesing at catcher as two leaders! We WILL miss Mike Saunches, who opted out of his senior year in favor of accepting a minor league contract with the Yankees. What do you know about our new coach? Evansville has a pretty good baseball program. I hate to say it, but I think he's stepping down to a situation where he hopes to build up a big time program because ISU is a larger school with more revenue etc. I think he believes he can turn it into a big time program. He's a pretty good coach though. Of course, they'll never be like Cal State Fullerton

Remaining Pitcher FA's
Ginter is one of those players that I mention as a bust. I don't think the guy will ever turn into a major league star. He could eventually become an adequate reliever, but I don't see much out of him. I had the same feelings when it came towards Aaron Myette as well as Josh Fogg. We'll see if I'm right when it comes to Fogg. I think people will figure him out a bit more this year.

Minor Leaguers
I like what Chris said. Yan and Malone are two of my favorites. I also am a big Anthony Webster fan. Still as far as sleepers go, I'm going to say Heath Phillips.

Remaining Pitcher FA's
I'm with Baggs, of course Baggio and I are the two people that think Wright has some of the best stuff on the entire staff and I see him developing into a workhorse. This guy can flat pitch and showed many times last year how could he could be by dominating really good teams. Thats what impressed me about both Garland and Wright, they proved they could pitch great against the really good teams in the majors. That tells me if you can do that, once you get consistent, your going to be damn good. Both made tremendous improvement in that area as the season went on and they should both be better this year. Rauch is going to be really good too. I'm very confident with this current group of young pitchers that are still developing because I don't see them faulting like some of our other major busts have.

..thoughts on Paulie...
I think that Glaus is the most talented off all the 3rd basemans in the majors right now. He has a huge build, good speed, a good eye, but does tend to strikeout a good amount. Glaus does have unbelievable raw power and has the ability to hit for a much higher average. Last season in the playoffs he finally started going the other way and once he learns that he will be unbelievable. This guy could easily hit 50 homers a couple years in a row. He's unbelieavably strong and has an uppercut swing, meant for the long ball. Konerko is great too, don't get me wrong. I think Glaus and him are the same age and I do value 3rd baseman more then 1st baseman. Just a random thought cause we got a guy at 3rd that can be pretty damn good himself in Joe Crede.
