  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) If I am moving up to 2 and making the pick, im not getting a guy who -might- be a decent to good QB. If you are drafting that high you better damn well get an instant impact starter. And I wouldnt be opposed to trading down for multiple picks either. The reality is, with extremely rare exceptions, when you are picking a QB, you really never know who they will be. Their really are very rare exceptions to that list. Peyton Manning and Luck are probably the most recent 2 QB's who fit that bill. I would argue that Winston, as a QB, falls in that camp (in terms of what he has done), but the off field issues keep him from being one of the more sure thing QB's to come out in a while.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 01:11 PM) I wouldnt be opposed to that. Man it would be ugly with Claussen as your starter... but hell it was ugly with Cutler as your starter though too. I don't like that idea. Is Williams really that significant of a long term upgrade over other guys available at 7? If you are taking Mariotta at least you are betting on a potential franchise game changer at the QB position. I'm not saying that he is, but I really don't have a problem using a #2 pick on a QB who was widely regarded most of the season as the top QB prospect (and was also viewed similarly a year ago).
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 11:21 AM) If Rose comes back tomorrow, what are the odds he stays healthy until the playoffs? I think he will. This season has me more optimistic about Rose's long term prognosis than less optimistic. This latest injury wasn't unexpected and other than that he largely played through the season and wouldn't have missed many games. Even with that said, he played in the World Championships and will hopefully get in 50+ regular season games plus hopefully another however many playoff games it takes to win a title. He might actually have an off-season where he doesn't have to think / wonder what it will be like to play again and be able to really focus on prepping for basketball and building off of this past year. I think next year is the year we see him take a leap forward as he'll have more confidence in his body and himself. All that said, another major injury sometime this year would throw everything I said out the window.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) That's cold. Haha. It will all be forgotten once Steve makes me my Jimmy Gets Bucket Shirt that I missed out on!
  5. I like it. We got whooped but I want us to play with an edge all year.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 08:31 AM) According to L Holmes on the Score last night there is "chatter" once again about Cutler to the Titans. I didnt get to listen to it all but has anyone else heard anything new about this? I've long said if Jay is dealt it would be to the Titans. I have not been pushing for Marcus but he clearly has nice skill-sets, etc. Projectability is hard to predict but by all accounts his make-up is off the charts and he's a hard worker. The question really is whether he can make the necessary tweaks and put in the time to excel at the NFL and if he is smart enough to play at the NFL level (deal with anticipation / look off safeties, etc). That is something that really no college QB has (or very rare that a college QB excels at it, especially in this day and age) so it is hard to gauge. Reason people are so comfortable with Winston is he's been in a system where he's been able to demonstrate some of those NFL skills for 2 years. If Bears like Marcus, I'm all for taking the cap pain and getting the #2 pick and losing Cutler and trying it out.
  7. Some rumors that Rose will return to the court on Wednesday. Steve, what are you hearing
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 12:51 PM) LOL I actually searched La Mesa, Ca because I thought that is where you live and found a lot of affordable homes. But now I remember you live in a different ___ Mesa. I worked in Costa Mesa but don't live there. Live near there.
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) I am not so sure. Just a quick browse on zillow and there are some nice homes in the 400k range in nice areas. That is a lot of money of course but its not totally outrageous for the quality of life aspect. Where?
  10. Lindstrom at times is a decent enough 6th / 7th inning swing guy. He is not a closer or an 8th inning guy. Relievers can be streaky so I have no problem with Matt on a minor league deal.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) Was there a starting bid or did I miss out on a $1 NFL autographed ball? At the very least, just play street football with or use the football to play with your kids (even if you didn't want the autograph).
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:32 PM) Cutler donated a signed ball to the Anti Cruelty Society's fundraiser. There were no bids. Disgusting. I hope he wins 3 rings for us and shuts everyone up and goes down as one of the most loved Bears ever!!!
  13. To be frank, that sounds like a stupid bet.
  14. Rose needs to get back out there and more minutes but next year is the year that I expect Rose will take some major steps forward and ideally be closer to his MVP days than anything we have seen since. Rose was such a bad passer for most of this year, that I don't expect him to come back and be elite but I expect him to be focused and significantly improve our on the ball defense at the PG spot while also being able to help the overall pace of the offense. I would hope we get him back out on Friday against the Bucks and just ease him from a minutes perspective, although I presume it won't be until next week.
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) Decent depth for the backfield. He can kind of do it all. Hopefully no more than our #3. Agreed; I like the bargain basement shopping Pace has done.
  16. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) been so long since we had a healthy DROSE going into the playoffs. We deserve some run good. Lets not jinx it people. *Knock on Forest*

QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) It was a fine episode, but definitely not a good season finale. Nothing major really happened... I liked the episode quite a bit. Sets up a lot of good and interesting things for the next season and nice to know that there will be a spin-off this summer so I can get some Zombie coverage while waiting for TWD to return again in the fall.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) Who woudn't blow off Rongey? Maybe Carlo and his ex listened to enough post-game shows last year to get their fill of his act. Cooper treats him with barely disguised disdain and nobody makes much of anything about it. What you say absolutely does not make it right to blow someone in the media off. I hope someone straightened the kid out if he did do this. It just isn't a professional way to handle things.
  19. Oh man that is a fantastic tweet.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) I always felt like that show would have been completely up my alley, but I found it pacing way too slow for me even in episode 1. Which is funny, because I'm in love with Mad Men and that show often take a half season to go anywhere. I'm the same way. Too many times in season 1 would American's put me to sleep from the Pace and it was the exact type of show that I normally would really like but after falling asleep so many times I decided it wasn't for me.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) Pitino really is great isnt he Izzo is too!
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 12:01 PM) Eh I guess you have somewhat of a point. You have to get through Cleveland one way or another, why not just do it earlier? But you also have to realize Rose needs time to adjust and get his game back. So barring injury, he's better off playing any team other than Cleveland before the CF. Because our team would still likely be in the process of geling. Tough part about 4 seed is you have a much tougher match-up in first round (6 / 7 / 8 seeds are much worse than 5 seed).
  23. QUOTE (tpezz27 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) Tommy John for Brady Aiken. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/457...my-john-surgery If you are the White Sox, do you take your chances and draft Aiken in the first after agreeing to a well below slot signing and than from there have cushion to be a little extra aggressive in the later rounds (nabbing some guys who fell). I guess the question is how much less would Aiken take and what are the Sox view of his recovery / med's and overall upside. If we were picking later in the 1st round, I'd say it was an easier decision. I also am not sure if fact we don't have 2nd / 3rd round picks makes situation better or worse.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) My scenerio is he makes the team, makes 2 starts, gets injured and winds up on the DL for the rest of the season. That would basically cost 2 years. I don't understand these writers, it is 2 weeks as a rookie vs. an entire season when you should be at the peak of your career. Not to mention, if Rodon comes up and is really good, you have a harder time saving him for the latter part of the season due to innings restrictions. Reality is we should have Rodon focusing on developmental pitches and aspects of his game in the minors and than give him a nice adjustment to the major league level while monitoring innings and almost having a built in "break" somewhere in the season to ensure that you can control his innings while building up his durability, etc.
