Santiago, outside of the walk, has looked good. I'm glad he's throwing some of his secondary stuff today. He'll need to do that and he has good stuff. Command is off though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) Dunn? Yes. Rios? No. But fine. I'll let it go. Though I do deserve some credit for Tyson. Nobody has any problems letting me know when I'm wrong. I said Tyson was elite. Nobody agreed with me. Now he's the DPOY. Whatever. If I disagreed that Chandler is an elite defender, well then I don't recall doing such. I've always felt Tyson was a legit defender. You were right, but he's a pretty known commodity on the defensive side of the ball.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) I don't care about getting razzed for it. It was not about that and you know why I got pissed. I'm just saying looking back, I wasn't really that far off. There's no way anybody could've foreseen Carmelo being so bad for 40 games and Amare being so bad all year. So does Kenny get a pass cause no one would have expected Dunn and Rios to be the two worse players in baseball? Not being an ass, just asking. Either way, that is long gone...lets focus on whats going on now.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 1, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) Boozer and Noah both disappeared due to horrible PG play. Watson and Lucas were abortions The offense was atrocious in the 2nd half. Defense was foul. That was terrible. The one on one play that I saw after a good offensive first half was just disgusting. Noah was money in the 1st half too and I want to see more of that cause he has the opportunity to do that all the time. Really really disgusted. Normally i'd say its just a loss, but given the mental beatdown this team has taken, I'm sure they will have a lot of doubt in there mind. They need to get past it and play strong in game 3 on Friday.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 1, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Its a good question and one that the Bears front office has never explained. If you go through my posts, I consistently state I dont understand why the Bears did not give Carimi a LT grade. If you read about last years draft youll see some scouts didnt like his knee bend and other form issues with pass protection (ie a quick speed rush may beat him). Also he was a rookie with limited time to learn the playbook due to the lock out. They may have just wanted him to play RT to start and get comfortable to then move him to LT. I think Carimi is really going to impress people once he comes back. I cant understand why Reiff would get a LT grade and Carimi a RT grade, but sometimes it just doesnt make sense. Most people didn't give Reiff a LT grade.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 10:08 AM) 2-hour season finale. Don't want to spoil anything, but it sets up an interesting plot for season 3. It was very very interesting. I didn't realize that was the finale. I had saw it when I made this post. It was a great episode and definitely makes you wonder about what will happen for season 3.

Costco (not sure if there is one near you Mike) has passport photo's for cheap as well.

I will work on getting the site upgraded. The time we have is sparse and there will be some server changes in store. One thing that might go away is some of the historic historic info (given the cost of maintaining all of the real old stuff). I'll know more in a few weeks to a month. But there will be some back end changes that will be instore, which hopefully, by and large only the good is noticeable (e.g., getting this software upgraded to the newer versions which would support something like tapatalk).

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 08:33 AM) Grimm is a surprisingly good show. I way behind on it (I think I have about 6 on my DVR), but I've enjoyed every episode. The reformed Big Bad Wolf that helps out is great. Always good comic relief. Yep. I think I started watching about 8 episodes ago. This past week I got caught up (went through like 5 episodes in a week) and I'm offiically hooked. This is the 1st season, correct?

I'm trying to be an optimist. Rose at 95% is still an all star. Lets hope he gets back to 100% but no matter what I wish him a speedy recovery. From here on out...Go Bulls. You are one of the most enjoyable teams I've gotten to cheer for in a long time. The epitome of an NBA TEAM. Kick some ass and win this thing for the gipper..errr Drose.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 07:54 AM) Holy sh*t, Breakout Kings is an amazing show. That is all. Yep. very good. I'm also getting into Grimm now.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) With his size, I wonder if GarPax have to start thinking about dealing him before he goes Iverson. They are similar in size and game, I fear that is who we are looking at. He was so much faster then nearly everyone in the league that even at 95% he'd be one of the faster players in the league (or so I hope). In fact, he wasn't even playing at full speed today and was making guys miss.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Yeah, because he kept playing and re-injuring it. Forget about this year. The long-term repercussions are what's important now. After what's happened this year, I don't know how Rose could ever take the court again without having the fear of god inside him of getting hurt again. It takes time...he's going to have a hard rehab process but he suffered a very fluke injury and I'm sure a lot of it had to do with his body just not being ready as a result of all of the injuries and wear and tear. Still, its a tough thing to see given how few athletes have truly recovered from this that relied on pure speed.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) None of those guys has a game like Rose. They are shooters, not slashers. Jamaal is older but he was very quick. What I've read is it looks like you can get back to about 95% if all goes well. Rose was so special that he could still be fine at 95%. Can't wait to see ptac's post on this.
-
6 to 9 months is the normal timeframe for recovery. You have to hope his recovery is more like Jamaal's vs. Michael Redd, who came back and retore it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) I can't remember and I don't feel like looking it up. Is this similar to Roy's injury? I believe Roy had the micro fracture injury, similar to Amare and Oden.
-
NFL players have came back within a year. You can even see some of the guys in the NFL who come back from torn ACL's and in time regained there quickness and got the 40 times back. Still, it is no guarantee. It will take hard work and Rose's quickness was one of those things that made him special. He still is strong and a big jumper and I anticipate those abilities will be there. Heck, the biggest thing about him is his ability to change speeds and hopefully he can still do that in time. Until I see him playing and show that burst that made him special though, there will be major doubts in my mind.

I know when Rubio went down they said there was some shot he could be back for London. I don't' know how that is even possible and probably not true. Al Jefferson tore his and only missed 6 games the final year. His tear happened in February and he was 100% by opening day. Seems like it is a 9 month recovery time, which puts him on a January time frame.
-
What NBA guards have had this injury? I know Crawford had this injury and he regained most of his quickness. Any other NBA players? Its a pretty rare injury in the NBA or so it seems. That said Rubio and Shumpert both had it happen to them this year (plus Harrington I believe).
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:44 PM) Rose will be gone most of next year too. I don't know about that. I'm assuming he'd miss the beginning of the season but would probably be back to 100% by this time next year (or close to it). He's got a long road to recovery ahead of him, but to be frank, this is better than the micro fracture injury. You can recover from this and still have explosiveness. Running backs have came back from it, wideouts have, etc. However, I'll be curious to see how much slower he is. This is just horrible for Rose. I feel terrible for him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) Be honest though...which team has a better chance against the Heat, the Bulls with CJ at the point or a "healthy" Celtics tema if they get there? I'd rather have the Celtics get the Heat, so that someone has a shot at beating them. Honestly...I don't think either team has that great of a shot, but I'd say Indiana or Chicago are both better then Boston. I could be wrong but I don't think that highly of Boston.
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) Nah this team has too much heart. Best case scenario they'll make it back to the ECF to get beat by the Heat again. They can still make it to the Eastern Conference finals. The only saving grace is that Hamilton is a really good player and gives them some sort of chance. Bulls were solid without Rose (not great) but add in Hamilton and they would probably have been a top 4 seed. They just don't have any chance at the championships now. All we can hope is the team plays there butt off and responds proudly and that Rose can work himself back and get healthy.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:24 AM) I like what I see; he looks REALLY fast. He's well spoken too, and Emery had nothing but great things to say about him. In an ideal world, Hardin and Wright is a nice safety tandem. Conte did ok last year, but I'm not sold on him as a starter, and I've never liked Craig Steltz. And more important than anything: no Harris and no Meriweather. And words can't describe how much I love the Alshon Jeffrey pick. Emery believed he was the 2nd or 3rd best WR in this year's class. Both Jeffery and Marshall are 6'4. Slav, not sure what games you were watching, but Conte was the superior safety for the Bears last year. That isn't saying he's that great (he still has developing to do) but compared to Wright he was much better. Wright has struggled to stay on the field so that could be what effected his play for most of last year but he was pretty disappointing. Conte is a guy I lot of people were down on when he was drafted and I know he opened up a lot of people's eyes last year. Hopefully we see something nice with this guy.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) I went into this draft saying that I think the bears oline isnt as bad as people think and I stand by that. Having one pro bowl back, another average back, plus a stud wideout, a upside pick in the 2nd round, Bennett, Hester, etc. I think they will be just fine, but this is coming from a guy who doesn't think the line is near as bad as people say it is. And a year to a year and a half ago, I was talking about it being the worse line in the NFL. I just really think people missed the strides they made last year when healthy. Its not the best line in football, but with weapons and the strides they made, I expect it to be at worse, a middle of the pack oline.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) From the looks of it, they definitely wanted Shea and Jeffery with their first two picks. Haven't heard much about Hardin yet, but it sure seems like Emery believe there's enough OL depth for now. Or that this was a weak oline draft at the positons the Bears needed on the line so they went with other areas. I know nothing about this safety and I wouldn't have listed safety as a need but the Bears have added depth in FA to the line, depth at the CB position, and are getting a safety that I assume they think would have been a much higher pick had he not missed the past season. I'm not saying I'd have done it but that is Emery's thought and right now, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully he hits on these moves. I also fully expect them to bring in a dlineman that gets cut.
