QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Ask one of your mutual friends for her number. Not only will you get it, but she will hear you asked for it and went the extra mile. How the hell did it take this long for someone to suggest this? You have a group of friends, reach out to one of them for her number and call her. Don't buy into this BS of having it sit for a week. She isn't going to be like, how the hell did he get my number, etc, etc. Plus, she posts on Soxtalk, so she already knows your MO.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) And my only relationship advice is, the person you should be with should love you for who you are. You dont need to become a identity-less "WE" who disappears from existence because you got a GF or got married. If you stay true to who you are, you will find the person who compliments you and who you will never want to leave. If you arent currently with a person like that, leave, there are millions of people out there. Couldn't agree with you more regarding the above. I feel it is very important to still have your individuality and to remain true to you as should she. And you should most definitely not dissapear from the face of the earth because you are in a relationship or married, etc. I think we all know friends that have had that happen and more often than not, a few years or months later, they end up regretting it, realizing they lost a lot of close people and are stuck in a s***ty situation.

34 billionaires pledge to give away 50 percent of wealth

He can give me a billion, I'll buy the Sox and donate it to Soxtalk Every member would be part owner, with me the chairman of the board. -
I'm pretty sure damn near everyone starts in sales.

I just want to point out that never, in a million years, would I consider a threesome now that I'm married. Never.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 11:19 AM) Keep reading Jas... I have. I don't agree with it. Clearly we have two different opinions. I respect yours and I would never force someone into marriage if they didn't believe in it being something more/special/etc. I happen to and found the person I will spend the rest of my life with and have every intent of staying by her side in good times and bad. We are a team. Is it cliche, sure. Have a million others said it and gotten divorced, absolutely, does that mean I'm not going to try, absolutely not. (albeit I sure as hell don't plan on it and have always said I would wait it out till I found the one and I did).

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) There's a whole segment of the population that isn't allowed to but that's another story. And they are fighting for there right to be allowed to? I'm pretty sure those people that are fighting for it are doing it because they too would like to marry. It isn't just for a contract. Yes, there are a lot of other reasons it would be beneficial (as some of discussed) but to me, there is something sacred about marriage and special. I am not going to tell someone else if they don't want to that they have to nor should someone come tell me that marriage is a sham.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) Everyone who gets married thinks they are going to spend their life with someone though...the problem is, people are usually wrong... So what, that doesn't mean if two people want to they shouldn't go get married. Obviously I have my intents and who knows what will happen but I got married because I plan on being with the same person the rest of my life. I know when push comes to shove, she'll be there for me and I'll be there for her. And just because someone made a mistake or stuff happens and some people get divorced doesn't make marriage any less significant to me as an individual. I could care less if someone doesn't want to get married, but to me, marriage means a hell of a lot more than a contract. It means an eternal commitment.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 11:59 AM) Yes. Give me one other difference between it and long-time couples who aren't married. I might not be able to specifically state one factual thing about it, but I think it signifies a very special bond between two people (or at least that is what it should signify).

Restrictions on 1st year prospects?
Chisoxfn replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in FutureSox Board
The White Sox don't have a specific rule. There are occasions in which the Sox will take a guy who has worked a lot and will opt to piggy-back him with another starter (i.e., two guys combine in a start to both throw a few innings). -
I'll miss Huddy. Jackson makes us better this year and has some upside, but Huddy was a nice piece and there is no denying the Sox paid a steap steap price. I don't know if I agree with the trade, I understand the idea of getting Jackson, but we'll see what happens. I'll root for Huddy and I'll root for Edwin.

Don't swing Alexei. I want you to walk so Rios can kill it!!! -
Getting Teahen back and having him DH against righties will be huge for the Sox, imo. He can also play some RF and obviously do a little bit better defensively than Dayan at 3B.

I would not cut Andruw. He plays great defense, is a smart baserunner, and still can be a valuable PHer against LHPing. And that is despite him having a rought defensive night tonight and the fact the got picked off, lol. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) Danks had a Javy Vazquez-like start. It was one bad inning that did him in. During the inning there were some well placed balls. Albeit, he wasn't as sharp as he's been the rest of this game, but he wasn't 4 run in an inning bad. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Give Braden credit, he's getting a ton of funky swings. Weird game for the Sox, as we've had a ton of leadoff guys reach. They have no chance on that change right now and because of it I think they are caught in-between a lot. -
