  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) Sorry steve, ace, rowand, willie, but the fake dream is over. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5365192 The question is if he's told Riley he's coming. Outside of that, no one else has heard anything or so it seems.
  2. Thanks, I thought it was 9, but wanted to make sure.
  3. How much longer until he announces? Was it 6 eastern or 9 Eastern? I've been in a long meeting and working on a report the last 2 hours.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) It's Cleveland. I think he's staying in Cleveland or going to Chicago and I don't think he's really considering any place else.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) Each team will have a representative there. Once again, the Bulls are quiet... expectant. I wonder who our rep will be. I'd feel a lot better knowing that we aren't just sending some staffer and that the Heat are sending Riley.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Wait now Sam Smith is stealing from me, this is BULLs***! And damn his article is remarkably similar to the points ive been making, maybe Im Sam Smith. Yo Chisoxfn, Where have you been hearing the Miami talk is just talk? Besides for Steve and myself, who are obviously top notch sources and have the Lebron pulse. Someone on Twitter had mentiond it. I"ve long felt that there is no way that it makes any sense for it to happen and I still think no one knows anything. However, if hte report is true and Riley will be at the press conference, well that ain't good. I hope to hear that the Bulls are sending someone as well. I guess the Knicks wont' have any of there key people there.
  7. So evidently the Knicks are now out? Some are saying the Miami talk is just that, talk. I still believe in Chicago!!!
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) Boozer apparently told people Lebron is 50/50 right now between NY and MIA. Where is that from?
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) He'd be starting for defense and athleticism and size. Bulls need an offensive guy that can be there. If we want a bigger more versatile guard, we'd be better off with Childress, imo.
  10. Apparently Haywood is going to get a 55M contract. Wowza.
  11. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) Luol Deng isn't an impact player in the NBA. He belongs in basketball Siberia, aka Sacramento, Memphis, Clippers etc... He will be left alone, nobody will expect things from him, all will be well. Impact player, no, but a good 3rd or 4th option, absolutely.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) I really think the silence out of Bulls camp and the fact that they haven't reached out to other players means they think they have LeBron. I think they don't know anything, just like the Heats, Nets, Cavs, Clippers, Knicks, and everyone else for that matter. Anything else is pure talk at this point.
  13. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:34 AM) I'd personally like to sign a couple guys. A shooter (Redick/Korver/Morrow), a big guard (Brewer/Childress), and another big man (Asik?). I woudl be quite happy with a Reddick & Childress. Gives us a lot of flexibility.
  14. If the Bulls missed out, what does everyone think they do. Will they sign 2 or 3 guys? Will they pull off a trade? Will they move guys and accumulate expiring deals to have cap room for next year? Outside of Melo, who is potentially available next season?
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) Yes he is. He's been a starter in the league for six seasons, a major leap forward in production is extremely unlikely at this point. But he should get better having a low post player around him. Hes' a relatively efficient scorer coming off his best season. The key to Deng is health. He isn't an all star, but he's an above average player and an asset. Especially now that he's extended his range and appears capable of being a decent 3 point shooter. If Luol continues to improve that aspect of his game he should be quite valuable (albeit a little overpaid in my eyes).
  16. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Trade exceptions don't let you sign guys, they're only for trading purposes. You'd have to convince someone to give you a player for nothing basically. Other teams will help facilitate things though. We give them a pick or something.
  17. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) How many do the Bulls have again? Rose Deng Noah Gibson Boozer James Johnson cap space So that'd be only 6, with no starting-caliber shooting guard at the moment. Asik as well (albeit not technically under contract). Plus we have a couple trade exceptions that will allow us to sign people for 3 to 4 mill deals (Hakeem Warrick exception, Hinrich exception, etc). That is a much different story. And if the reports are true, Bulls don't have Deng if they get Lebron but instead have a couple other guys that give us depth.
  18. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) Michael Beasley. But he will likely be traded for other parts most likely. No one will be dealing with the Heat, imo, if they end up with the big 3. If that happens, a lot of people are gonna be clamoring about some tampering.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) This I agree with. In fact, assuming LeBron doesn't come here, they might actually be further away. Well, quite frankly, if Lebron stays in Cleveland I think there is a lot of parody in the East. I'd rank the Celtics as the top title contending team, albeit they are very likely to get hurt and fall apart. Than I'd have the Cavs (w/LBJ) as they will improve and they had the best record last year. Than I go Magic, followed by the Bulls, Heat, and Hawks. The Bulls could jump into the Top 3 if Boston were to slide off, which is possible. But I don't see any team being by far and away better out of the top 4 (Celtics, Magic, Heat, Bulls, Cavs). I think the Heat would be on the outside looking in.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) Available guards in case we miss out on Lebron: Anthony Morrow JJ Redick Matt Barnes Ronnie Brewer Luther Head Josh Howard Roger Mason Mike Miller Michael Redd (1 yr left on deal, 18.3 mil) Quinton Ross I'd prefer trading for one because I don't like much of what is out there. A few years ago I'd have loved Howard. I like Redick a good amount, but not for as much as it will take to sign him.
  21. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) I may have missed this in the million pages, but apparently Rose has been calling and texting LBJ. Where did you see that?
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:00 AM) At this point, I hope it's not something more serious...like a detached kneecap They are just taking it easy on him. He'll be playing on Friday. Jones has been having good at bats and is seeing the ball well, he just doesn't have the bat speed that he did 4 years ago.
  23. That was a fun one to watch. Keep it up and get the sweep today!!!
