Woot! Awesome... I ran it three times before it got that big. I ran the last one where they had the finish line be the yard of bricks, and the first one with the route finishing and ending downtown. Since then, it's really grown. I ran the Orlando (Disney) marathon, it was really fun. If I had to pick another one to run, Chicago would be it. However, I, like you, have gained about the same amount of weight since college. I think I'm up 70 lbs from college. How crazy that is... I've lost a little weight since last summer, but not much. I need to get back into running - me and the dog (who needs to burn off more energy then I do) should run, but I hate mornings, and that's the only time I could do it.

This is a stupid article. The Sox have 0% chance of making it, until they do, and then they have a 100% chance of making it. Until then, it doesn't matter.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:03 PM) I agree, but who are you pointing your ire at? As far as I can tell, like Balta said earlier, blame the idiots in the TV media for putting other idiots like Sharpton and Coulter on the tube. I don't think I know a single person who would consider either of them a spokesperson for anything. The spokespeople for asshatery?

QUOTE(Soxy @ May 10, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) I'll pre-empt Kap's response here: They're all rotten and corrupt to the very core. Thanks for being there for me! Seriously, though, there's some "good" politicians, but the very SYSTEM is corrupt, and it makes for corrupt people that run for office, even at the local levels.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) Well, you know what they say. Fool me once, shame on, shame on you... .... .... .... .... Fool, you can't get fooled again. Too many of these sorts of flubs and Obama really should take a hit. Mr. Bush deserved to take a much bigger hit for his gaffes than he ever really took, Howard Dean took a gigantic hit for a few of his gaffes and those hits followed him even when he made correct points. Obama's had a bit of a rough month or two, and it's starting to even drag on his poll numbers. He really does need to step up the quality of the campaign he's running here. I agree... you have to be careful what you say. It's crazy to even think about, on both sides of the aisle. This is truely just a silly misspeak, yet, we're all talking about it, which goes to show everyone's watching.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Yes, but no one either smart or in any sort of official position has been using that dodge. It's been confined to the dark reaches of Hannity and Limbaugh for the most part, even the majority of the Fox News folks don't push it any more because they know there's just no evidence at all for it. But yet, one of the Republican Pres. Candidates just alleged that exact thing with no evidence. I find that noteworthy. Ah, ok got your point now. Listen... it amazes me as late as LATE in 2000, Clinton was saying EXACTLY the same thing Bush did on the WMD's. So what happened to them? Balta, I know you've drummed up 1,000's of articles telling us that Saddam had to of destroyed them, but come on... why would you believe that, in reality?

QUOTE(Balance @ May 10, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) So, when a Republican like Dubya misspeaks, or even dissembles, it's cute, it's part of his down-home country charm. proof of his sinister, duplicitous, evil nature. But when a Democrat misspeaks, or even dissembles, it's proof of his sinister, duplicitous, evil nature. it's cute, it's part of his down-home country charm. I get it. Thanks. Fixed that for you. It's how it's portrayed every day around here. BTW, I know Obama misspoke... and I don't care. But it amazes me to see the flocks defend him, just like the "fixed quote" above when the tables are turned. Edit: and Balta just made my point for me... note the word RESUME in his post.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 10, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) I'm sure he had Iraq, Katrina and who knows what else spinning in his mind as he spouted out that number. It was a mistake. In the scheme of things I don't think voters will shun him based on that. If he is not able to formulate clear stances on how to solve major issues than I can see people tuning him out. Agreed on your last part, but it's ironic that "he made a mistake" is said about Obama, and if the cheese head in the White House misspeaks, it's earth shattering news and he should be hung for it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 8, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) Link with video. ok, so what's the point?

yea, it's no different then Mrs. Bill Clinton "watching the kids of the (ILLEGAL) immagrants back in the day in Illinois"... PUKE.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) Eh, you can stress yourself out about it as much as you want to, it just doesn't bother me that much. It would be one thing if this team were lazy or didn't care, but I just haven't seen that in my view. They seem to go out and try hard everyday, and after that, whatever happens, happens. I am glad they have a competitive team on the field and fans in the stands, but if it goes away, what does it really change for me? Nothing. Maybe I am just getting old, but I don't see the point of getting upset over a game meant for entertaining me, especially since I have seen teams that were way worse. Maybe? -
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 8, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Democrats got ripped up and down by right-wingers for flying in to their debates. Now, one is taking a step to make his campaign "greener" and he's getting ripped up and down for it by right-wingers. No, they didn't get ripped up and down for flying to their debates, they got ripped up and down for yelling at me about my SUV and telling me I have to change MY lifestyle without changing their own.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 8, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) I have DirecTv and get to see all the Sox games. I would recommend DirecTv as I have never had any problems and their customer service has been very good to me. Plus they are getting a boatload of additional HD channels later this year. I'm seriously thinking of switching from Dish to D-TV. BS, have you had both, or just a good experience with D-TV?

Goodie! That means I get to watch someone I quasi-know going in the top 10. Those of you know who I'm talking about, this kid has a hell of a story... I'm sure it will get brought up when he gets drafted.
-
ok, honestly, this run by the current market is totally unfounded and ridiculous. I have a feeling what we're seeing is some (ahem) foreign buying here to push things up to an "irrational" level. There's more then meets the eye on this "rise" of the markets, IMO.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ May 8, 2007 -> 05:24 AM) How quickly you forget Zell Miller. Ben Nelson. Hell, Joe Lieberman left the party after he couldn't win a primary. And they all pretty much had to leave or be pushed out for their beliefs. The republican party does the same thing, but it's not nearly as dramatic most of the time.

And why "Reagan" was said more times then people can count. Pluuuuheease, none of these screwtards will ever get even close to that standard.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 7, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) I think it can be truly said that neither party has any sort of moral high ground. The GOP is messed up in part because of BushCo, yes. But in the last few months, the Dem Congress is doing no better than the GOP did. If you read the article, you also see hints of what I think the real reason for the defections is - the GOP has shifted its focus as a party. The small government, fiscal discipline and individual freedoms themes that once dominated the party line have fallen by the wayside, in favor of a conservative social agenda (budgets and freedoms be damned). That I think, more than any scandals, has been the reason for flight for politicians from the Republican party. Voters are fickle, so they are more effected by the current administration and its blunders. But these people more at the core of politics, when they consider jumping the aisle, its for more thematic reasons. And that's the reason that I consider myself an independent as opposed to GOP or Dem. Personally, I'm more of a social libertarian and a fiscal conservative. The social libertarian part of me agrees with some Dem platforms, but both parties are so extreme right now, that they all suck.

Yea, kind of like Joe L. - who is pretty much hated in Democrat circles.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Well when the very people you keep talking about taxing the rich, and they are the ones reading this paper... Let's just say I can see where their bias would lie. Yea, their bias is in HillaryCare .

That's true. However, the majority of the people don't get the WSJ for the op/ed page. Andif you think about it, "conservatives" and the type of people who get the WSJ actually sort of fit together. Pro-business and democrats aren't usually in the same sentance.

http://www.kansas.com/static/slides/050507tornadoaerials/ This is the arial shots of the Kansas tornado that hit last night. Holy s***, this is serious damage. If only 8 people lost their lives, it's a miracle, when you see this kind of damage.

These statistics explain a lot...reality or not?
