QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Point taken. But if I had made such a stupid choice, no matter how drunk, I wouldn't want to be seen as a martyr. I wouldn't call her a martyr, although the screwed up media is making her one. I think it's a very unfortunate situation, and the media are a bunch of (your word choice) whores on the matter. Obviously, it's still a selling point or they would have moved on by now.

You beat me to it, Buffalo.

I can agree that the press needs to get the hell of the story. But I would say that about 90% of us made some stupid ass choices when we were 17 and 18 and 19 years old. Fortunately, most of us learned from it and didn't die. But we just as easily could have. Did you ever get in a car when some one has been drinking? EVER? Two different points being made in the thread. The attention by the media is BS. But I think we should refrain from judging HER.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Trust is telling someone close to you a personal secret. Trust is being able to be yourself with loved ones. Letting 3 strangers do God-knows-what to you isn't trust. It's being stupid...and a whore. Situation: If you were in that club, 18 years old, you'd a been mackin on her. If she acted interested, you'd a been all over it. Now, I'm not saying three guys, that's SICK, but the point is, 18 year old males and females, in that setting, with the alcohol make STUPID judgements. In this case, she paid for it with her life. That's s***ty, and I feel bad for her family to have to go through that. But when we were 18, we thought nothing would happen to us, we did the same (generally) stupid s***. So please don't be so quick to judge... that's all I ask.

All too much damn press, just like the AL East, and nothing about the White Sox, those ugly duckling bastards in the Central.

I think the Hawks land someone here. Actually Yanic Perrault would be a GREAT fit in Chicago. -
Banks get it wrong. A lot. If you don't reconcile your statements, you're asking to get ripped off.

Actually Allison wouldn't be a bad signing, with a year off, I bet he's pretty healthy this year. -

The latest rumor mill I have heard is that the Hawks are going after Eric Lindros. Hard. UGH. GLASSBOY... ohhhh GLASSBOY... /hopefully some of you will get that. -
There's a LOT of *private* money being put into it, so it's not funded by our government. Sugar Daddy, anyone? PS, I'll agree that it's not enough. But to totally blame the Bush administration is not correct and misleading, which is my point.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Ignorant for sure.. sexist.. I dunno. Men are visually stimulated. It's what moves them so I don't know if I would agree that it's a deliberate action for them to look at a female who's a size 6 and a bit curvy and say.. "she's fat". I like the ads. They send a good message. In and of itself, the comment isn't sexist, but most guys who make them are.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Yes. In a tragic accident reportedly involving several live chickens, rubber gloves, pure canola oil, and an Oscar Gamble afro wig. No other details are available at the moment. Dammit, Jim, you weren't supposed to say anything. It's truely amazing, chickens DO walk with their heads chopped off, and they look pretty funny with that greased afro on in place of their heads.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) I definitely like them. I can't believe any man would say that a size 6 is chunky (that is supposed to be the low end of the size range of the girls), but I have read several comments to that tune. I think that's ignorant and sexist to say that all girls have to be under a size 2 or they're "fat". I really dislike shovenistic (sp) pigs like that.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) With the current administration running US Energy policy until 2008...not a chance. :rolly That's completely ignorant. It wouldn't matter if Captain Dickhead were in the White House, people are busting their ass on this research.

I know, above all else, a hot goaltender can take you a long way in the playoffs. Khabby will address that, if his big-ass ego doesn't get in the way. However, the 'Hawks still need a guy that's going to put the puck in the net on a consistant basis. I think they can get by *IF* they get a premeire scorer without Khabby. Of course, it doesn't hurt them any if they get him, either. -

Agreed, PaulyCWS. Khabby isn't going to take them to the promised land. They really NEED a first line centre, but they're not going to get it from what I'm seeing. -

Don't you remember that highly classified memo signed by Bush himself that Iraq was involved in 9-11? :rolly

Buckhead's not so bad. Some of the 'burbs are pretty nice. Been to Atlanta enough to know that I'd not want to live there... but someday I may not have a choice...

The whole Modano fiasco was something else. I KNOW he had a better offer from Chicago and Boston both then Dallas gave him. And his f***ing wonderboy agent had to step in and be an asshole, trying to get the Stars to pay more. The deal Modano signed is front end loaded and he will make less, much less, years 4 and 5. Also, he got a signing bonus for signing today payable years 4 and 5 that won't count against the cap should he retire. Having said all this, the Hawks have to land someone bigger tomorrow, the market is starting to thin out. There's a couple of sniper wingers left, but they really needed a top flight centre, IMO. -

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Kap, TSN in Canada is the one reporting that the Hawks are in the derby for Modano, have you heard anything with that? If they can land both him and the Wall, I'm not sure how much more of a "splash" money wise they'd be able to make. Modano is considering Boston more then Chicago, but I can also tell you that Modano prefers the Western Conference. It's hard to say for sure, but I know Chicago is in the mix, and Boston are the leaders.
