Oh, and because I have to keep my options open for the 2007 ASG. I have always wanted to go to an ASG weekend for the NHL.

I feel the same way, to an extent, on Tom Hicks for the Stars... he's one of the biggest reasons why we just went through the lockout, although, for the opposite reasons, he was foolish with his money. But I will have at least a partial season ticket package for the Stars, because I love the game.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) I stand by what I said. The Slacks havent done anything to put themselves in a position to contend for anything but tee times in florida in April. Nuke, you're pretty funny. Truth is, no one knows what's going to happen yet. I think the 'Hawks are in a position to be buyers. And from what I've heard in the league grumblings, they will indeed be "buyers". We'll know a lot more in a week or so. -
I meant to say that Balta's right and it's sick in that way.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) MTV quit being watchable when some idiot decided to put shows on it. I haven't watched it since 8th grade, and I am old. Agreed. Well, and Beavis and Butthead.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) But necessary. We are entrusting this person to a lifetime position of determining what is or isn't acceptable in our society of law. It's not too much to ask that the Senate, who determines whether or not to confirm him, can get access to files from when he worked for the government. Or get to see his tax returns to ensure no conflicts of interest. Who cares where this guys spends his money in his private life? I HATE the concept of abortion. But, LEGALLY, if that is what is the rule according to constitutional tests, that is what the law should be. And if I rule form the bench in that manner (if I'm in his shoes), nothing else should matter.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Did you know that there's a young pregnant woman in Pennsylvania who's now been missing for nine days? What, you haven't heard about it? Oh yeah, her name was Latoyia Figueroa . Care to guess now why you haven't heard about her? Seriously though, the press won't cover this one because she's not white and blonde...there are a couple internet-based groups that have tried to raise funds as a reward to find her, if you can spare a few...there's links at that page. That's just sick.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Think there's any chance his tax records show tax-deductable contributions to the Federalist Society that he has no memory of joining but apparently was on tthe steering committee for? Or, maybe contributions to the pro-life group his wife is affiliated with? If that was the case but they filed jointly, then it could be explained away easily enough as her donation. If his filing is separate from hers, though, and still showed that kind of affiliation that he and the White House are trying to keep under wraps, then I can see the desire to not make the returns public. These are the kinds of reasons why I NEVER want to be a public official. And why some damn good others feel the same way.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) The antennaes are all about CDMA & CDPD (digital cellular networks). National broadcast networks will be moving off VHF in years to come so that the government can auction that spectrum for even greater wireless services. The fully envision the ability to watch movies remotely anywhere in the world via wireless digital networks. What you are likely to see on all tall bldg's from here on out is a wide array of dishes & giant cell towers. I'm not so sure you'll see dishes... look at the advancements say, from 20 years ago with the big ol dishes in the back yard until now, with the 15 inch DirecTV dishes... As far as cell towers, yea, those things are all over the place now, including skyskrapers.

I'll add my "sorry to hear that" to everyone elses... pets are just awesome. They just love you for who you are, no matter what. And when they go, you always have good memories of them. It always hurts when they leave us, but after some of that pain is gone you always have your good times.

The thing is, most of them say it, see your quote, LCR. That's the difference to me, CNN and the "big three" as well as the NY Times and the bigger rags will all fight to the bitter end to say they're not biased, which is crap. I can handle it if they tell you that they are biased and let you decide what to watch.

Yea, Rome, Greece, and Israel are three places I would love to hit before my time is up, no doubt about it.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) Good service, long term oil contracts, using cheaper airport gates, useful fleets, excellent publicity? There's actually a pretty deep theoretical model that if all airlines used it, they would all be profitable. I worked on it some to help bring an airline out of bankruptcy. Guess what? It's working, because the company is still around.

Fleet type is one of the keys. I could write you all a dissertation of a "successful" airline, but you'd get bored.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 06:18 AM) No it isin't. That's like offering to take someone to dinner when you know they can't possibly make it. So whatcha wanna bet, Nuke? (PS, I'm poor. It has to be something cheap.) -
Top secret in Dubai? How come I know?

QUOTE(SKyhigh wit aROW @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) what are you talking about. MB is in his 6th year has a career record of 80-48, his era this year is 2.66 his career era is around 3.60 and his streak of like 6+ innings come on we are getting him cheap. And Garland he is in an arbitration year so how much you think this kid is gonna make next year my guess is gonna be more than MB probably like 7 or 8 million and think this is the first year Garland has done anything like this, sure he'll win 20 games maybe even win the CY young, but look at Zito did the same thing and how much does he make a year, 5.6 and how bout Hallady making 10.5 mill for having a career mark of 79-43 with an era of 3.70 im thinking Burhle is a steal for what we pay him son sorry but it's alot easier to bash someone who you think sux when you don't know the stats or situation. Dude, get a clue before you start posting. Read a little bit, mmmmmkay? Oh, by the way, GREEN is sarcasm. Enjoy your stay...

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:52 AM) So i have to ump a double header tomorrow (no shorts or anything...full regular umpire gear and pants behind the plate). Forecast around here is calling for 98 degrees, head index of 104. Ridiculous. I may melt. Tex, is this what Texas feels like? Pretty much every day. Not quite as humid, though.

Actually it wasn't a joke but you had to READ THE WHOLE f***ING POST. s***, people. Learn how to read.

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 05:05 AM) As much as I don't think this team is the incredible, there are not any great teams out there. This team is capable of going all the way whether you guys believe it or not. I'm not saying I'm satisfied with the current roster, but give credit where credit is due. If the rest of you care to not believe, go to cubbielovers.com. I will say there are holes, and we all know that. But, ANYONE can win this year because no one is dominant - all these teams have holes. Every single one of them. Whoever has confidence and executes in October will win. It's that simple.
