Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
Trayce coming through in the 9th to tie the game. Good to see him doing well.

Sometimes We Need to Go Backward Before We Can Move Forward
Yes, this team probably does have to take a step or two back. But that is because of some terribly poor personnel decision by the FO (and yes I'm sure La Russa had a hand in them; but this FO has made plenty of bad choices without La Russa's help).

6.25 games
I'm surprised that Charlotte ownership doesn't put up a squawk. That's a major league city and the teams the last 2 years have been completely non-competitive. And they've been well below .600 most years in the last decade. Having a AAA team in a city like Charlotte seems like a good opportunity for the Sox to expand the fanbase and national interest.

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
It is in the sense that the bottom is terrible, mostly due to FO decisions. And then, of course, with the #30 farm system, and what talent there is resides in the low minors, there is no internal help to be had. Anything they do to try to fix it until the offseason will be counterproductive.

GT 6/25: BAL @ Sox (1:10pm)
Tying run on the on deck circle's on deck circle.

GT 6/25: BAL @ Sox (1:10pm)
Hahn and his gaggle, by all rights, need to go first. He's been a deplorable GM for a decade. But, that would likely leave LaRussa as de facto GM. And deplorable doesn't begin to describe that situation.

My goodness!

2022 Promotions
The pitching is so spotty in AAA, and the home park so giving, that I wonder if hitting AAA pitching is any better indicator (if not worse) than AA.

Lenyn Sosa joins the White Sox; 2 years later, Banana Ball to Chicago
Good gracious.

Mr. 652-772 (.458) needs tohit the road as well.

LH Bat Trade Options
I think we should trade for Luis Gonzales from the Giants once he gets off of the IL..... It's all lipstick on a pig, at a non-measured cost, as this FO doesn't buy cheap. Need to regroup.

O's v. Sox, 6/23/22 GT
If you're not getting better, then you are getting worse. #30 takes its toll.

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
They can't right the ship in the middle of the season even with big moves. They may be able to fix things in the off-season, but that's not a guarantee, due to the paucity of both minor league talent and front-office talent. It may be that the Sox peaked in 2021 - and what you see is what you get.

2022 MLB Draft Thread
He ranks Hjerpe #54; he's looking for another White Sox reach. Of course the Sox could go this way, sign him for well below slot, which should allow for better players in rounds 2-4; or reduce round 5-10 punting. But that's not the modus operandi of this FO.

Crochet hoping to be a starter
His injuries and lack of starts were true when he was in college, yet the Sox drafted him anyway, which suggests that the Sox believe he can be a starter. I'm assuming that the FO wasn't so short-term minded to draft a reliever with pick #11.

Crochet hoping to be a starter
I hope he gets his wish; and the Sox should do all that they can to bring it about.

Yermin claimed by SFG
A top 5 organization, considering smarts and resources. What gets me (among other things) is that Hahn spent 4 years collecting castoffs and AAAA players during the rebuilding phase (as he should have- at least the ones that he didn't trade for) ; not one of them stuck. He waives LH Gonzalez (despite never flopping for the Sox and a LH shortage) and boom! Six months later, he trades for an organizational minor leaguer because he needs a LH outfielder. It's ridiculous. Always reacting, never proactive.

Is There a Good Loss?
Yeah, moral victories. Let's go!

That's a we own Verlander White Sox Winner
It's not like they tattooed Verlander. Lot of grounders got through. Team still isn't driving the ball. Cueto had excellent command. The rest of the staff could watch and learn (#7 in Ks; # 21 ERA; #25 WHIP).

Yermin claimed by SFG
I doubt it's coincidental that a top org in analytics claims players from an org. that is consistently a generation behind in analytics.

Haseley called up, Foster to bereavement list
That's fine, but leery of 2 of them at the same time. Haseley will also take a walk, unless/until the Sox fever hits him.

Haseley called up, Foster to bereavement list
Oh joy, another utility player on the roster.

Who should Sox fear the most, CLE or Minny?
Close call. Minny has more resources; Cleveland has the better front office. Both front offices, of course, tower over the Hahn and Haber show.
