Damn, do I love Chad Pennington. Such a great fantasy pick, and the Jets are dominating the Miami Dolphins, 24-7. BTW - Sorry Man of Steel, but the Dolphins are the worst team in the NFL...

The "I Can't Fucking Wait Till Tuesday" Thread

A better bet would be to head east. If you look at the map when hitting 'start', the save spot is pretty much in the southeast corner of the map. Try that, tell me how it works for ya... -
I'm really iffy on trading Lee, even if it were for the Big Unit. I really believe that Lee is this close (really close) to having, just an awesome year -- I'm talking .330, 35 HRs, 125+ RBIs. Like witesoxfan said, he's our best all-around player on the team. Konerko and Garland for Johnson -- sure. Lee and Garland for Johnson... Meh... I don't like it that much. Just because, IMHO, everyday players, during the course of a season, help you get to the playoffs more than a guy that plays once every five games does. Once you get to the playoffs, that's where Johnson makes his big bucks. But ya gotta get there first, and it ain't gonna happen with a s***ty lineup. I'm just questioning how we would plan on replacing the 60+ HRs, 200+ RBIs that we're losing from Maggs and Lee... (Projecting both out to be right around 30 homers, 100 RBIs)

I like Konerko and all, but where exactly has Konerko 'led' us...?
-
I like that idea. Pretty much the same as mine, except I'd have a trade of Konerko going to either Anahiem or Baltimore in which we get (from Baltimore) at least Hairston and Julio or from Anahiem, Shields and Erstad/Guillen. The second trade possibility is unrealistc, but I agree with your premise that we need another 7th/8th inning right handed pitcher.

I think we can all agree that Harris can hit RHP's. Against LHP's, as Cheat's stats show, not very good. Which is why - in my ideal offseason, you'd trade for Jerry Hairston, and put him and Harris in a platoon situation at 2B, and give Uribe a job as super utility, spelling Crede and Vizquel. Crede gets off to a slow start again, Uribe can jump in at third for awhile, while Valdez can jump in every once in a while at short. Meanwhile, at 2B, you have a damn good leadoff two headed monster with Harris and Hairston, that would be capable, at the very least, of putting up a .370 OBP (Harris .366 vs. righties, Hairston .376 vs lefties) -- not to mention the speed both of them have. But that's just me. I think the White Sox have different thinking, wanting Uribe to start a big portion of the games this year at 2B, rather than that super-utility role...

Yeah, Mr. Gonzaroski or something like that... He and Mr. Leftler (sp?) are my dad's buds. Mr Gonz is a cool guy, Sox fan too. He and my dad (Cubs fan) always go back and forth.

Chimpy, I dunno if you saw my recent post in the IHSA Football thread, but I wanted to know if you have/had my dad for any of your classes - Mr Cygan? He's a Math teacher...
-
Yeah, this thread and most others have kinda been like :banghead :banghead :banghead . Well, go Bears...
-
If you 'knew', then why did you say: "I dunno, I play madden alot and i can throw a screen pass in 3 secs. With DT, he can do about anything...Not always. " Obviously, you're comparing Madden to the NFL. And I really doubt you can run a screen pass in three seconds... Madden or NFL.
-
And in Madden, I can rake up over 500+ yards offense against any defense. What's your point? This is the NFL, not Madden...
-
Time to step up, defense.
-
The ball was thrown four feet over his head...
-
What play can you run that'll get you a couple yards further that only takes three seconds?
-
So you run a screen...? And he just made a 52 yarder on the previous try. You figure he could give a bit more mmph onto it to get it one yard further.
-
A screen with four seconds left......? And the point of that would be? (Considering that just as the RB caught the ball, he'd have to dive to the ground immediately, and time would probably be gone by then.)
-
Out for the game. Foot injury.
-
That's definitely, definitely not his QB Rating...
-
Hmm... So, Jason, do you really think that Konerko for Guillen AND Erstad straight up would work? You actually think that Anahiem would accept that (or - say if we also threw in Munoz)? I don't know what Anahiem's plans are this offseason, so that's why I ask...
-
I've grown to love the voice of Joniak, Thayer, and to a lesser extent, Arkush. No matter who the announcers are, national or not... Jones has a foot injury, undisclosed.

Pats taking it on the chin early

Obviously, game isn't over yet, but Pittsburg has a commanding 21-3 lead with 13 seconds left in the first quarter. Lots of time left, but all of the momentum is with the Steelers at this point. And -- IMHO, the Chargers are going to regret taking Rivers over Roethlisburger. He's the total package - mobile, strong arm, accurate arm. Plus, he's a leader. -
Outfield Option - flying under the radar

I don't question Alou's production, I question his mentality. Is that the type of veteran we want on this team - one that blames just about everyone but himself for the team's problems? Is that the kind of guy Ozzie wants leading his clubhouse? -
Put me on the bandwagon to aquire Kyle Farnsworth via trade. I know he's a bit of a headcase, but he has absolutely electric stuff. And, the Cubs are (most likely) beginning to run out of patience with this kid. Last year, the Braves were able to steal Juan Cruz from the Cubs for two minor leaguers - maybe we can do the same for Farnsy. Probably a dream because neither franchise would want to trade any potential stars to the other side of town, but if we got Farnsy, that'd make me real happy.

Oh God no. Please, please no. Wear the blue tops and blue bottoms, hell, wear the whites. But leave those orange tops in the closet, Halloween or not. Those jerseys are ugly...

Chimpy, would you happen to know my dad/have him for as your Math teacher? Mr. Cygan? He teaches there. Small world, ehh?
