  1. Man, I'm never doing this again. But here ya go Willie. One note that I would like to point out. Chris Carter was named Topps Player of the Month. So congrats to Chris.
  2. Hey it was worth a shot. It was my first time dammit!
  3. Didn't see one posted so I thought it was the perfect time to make my mark. The Knights got pounded 13-2. Rogo 2-3 Sweeney 1-2 1BB 2B. Owens, Fields, 0 fer... Everyone who pitched gave up a run. Box Score The Barons lost 11-7. P. Lopez 3-5 R, Aldridge with a good night. Malone really roughed up. Box Score Winston-Salem won 2-1 in a good pitcher's duel. Hansen 2-4, Mercedes 2-3 HR, Lucy 1-4, Egbert and Marshall both pitched well. Box Score Kanny lost to Delmarva 8-4. Gomes 1-5 R, 2B, Allen 1-4 R, Flores pitched decent. Box Score Great Falls won also 10-3. Cruz 2-5 HR, 1RBI 2R.Reves with a good night. Williamson pitched decent but too many walks. One positive is who everyone might have forgotten about. Ryan Wing. His line was steller. 2IP 2H 0BB 3SO. I'm rootin for him. Box Score Bristol was off. I wish I was da man..
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) It's just a way for the catcher to keep the batter from peaking at him to catch the loacation of the pitch. Or the runners. Don't know if anyone notices, but AJ also looks like he sets up to the inside/outside then when the pitcher begins his windup, he shuffles to the outside/inside. Runners on second especially can bark/signal/move to the outside/inside of the bag to tell that they're going to the outside/inside. Done it plenty of times when I played.
  5. My god. Damon's throw was absolutely horrible. My god.. The throw actually hit the infield dirt before finally bouncing 4 times to the catcher. Look at how he set's up to throw it.. BTW, I love the title they have of Dye's GW hit. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...ex.jsp?c_id=cws
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) They used to have Small Moose Wang in their rotation. Yea, but it will never top my favorite they once had. "Small, Wang, Johnson."
  7. I do find it humorous that were going up against 2 last names (the other one's nickname "The Moose") with a different way of saying a man's treasure. I can also say Bullwinkle, the character.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) So, according to ESPN tonight...this elbow has been bothering Liriano for more than just the last 10 days, and he's been trying to do the classic "Pitch through it." In other words, the Twins really ought to be worrying about that kid. Mark Prior, AJ Burnett and Kerry Wood should take lessons. Man does that kid have heart. I do agree that it isn't the right thing to do, he was taking one for the team sort of speak and still pitched well if that's true other than his last start even though 4 earned in his case is "bad".
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Oh, and we can now officially add Rivera as a notch on that "Closers we've beaten" board this year. What is it now, Papelbon, Rivera, Chris Ray, isn't BJ Ryan on there somewhere, Guardado, Houston Street's on there somewhere, all of the guys in Detroit, I think we got Wickman at some point, Dumpster... I believe he was already on the list because we have gotten to Rivera before this season. FWIW, ask Gregory Pratt.
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) I was running around naked during the 11th, and I didnt want to get left hanging. You set yourself up so beautifully.
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) No love goes out to Ozzie, even though he did a fine job managing the bullpen late in that game (I believe at least). Probably because he witnessed a man named Joe Torre do it how it's supposed to be done.
  12. The official Liriano Injury Prone Career has officially begun. There, I said it.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) JERMAINE DYE PAUL KONERKO BOBBY JENKS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  14. To this thread... just wow.... But I do have a question. Why did we waste a decent spect for Sandy Alomar Jr.? Why the hell is he on this team? Unless Buehrle pitches like an ace from here on out, there's no reason why a catcher whose CERA was just as bad as Widgers should be here.
  15. I laugh every time I see Boone Logan's mug in that pic..
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) I wasn't even talking about Chris Young but you brought him up. All I'm saying is that Fields is still k'ing way too much, that's it. I love you too Rowand.
  17. If Fields gets called up and, lets say rakes... we might be getting a call from SD or other teams in the offseason.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Well I didn't realize we were comparing him to Chris. The fact is, yes Fields has made some impressive strides this year but he still has a lot to work on. He still is striking out at an alarming rate, leading me to believe he's no where near ready yet. Who said anything about him being ready? All I'm saying is Chris Young hasn't proved jack in the bigs. Someone brought up a nice post about how many spects we've traded who didn't pan out and the only one who has come back to bite us was Maj. Now if the sox won it again this season, or next season we did it, would this even be in discussion? I wouldn't think so.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Jim or Frank? God damnit. This is gonna be tough. I saw that earlier and I was thinking the same way.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) ? Fields is striking out at an alarming rate. Let me break it down. Fields is in his second full season in the minors in his professional career. He is hitting .300+ in AAA which I thought we moved him too quickly considering he struggled a bit in AA. I should have worded it better by saying how he compared to Young's 4+ seasons in the minors cutting down K's whereas Fields has barely been in the minors for a couple of seasons, who has jumped to AAA quickly and who hasn't had the time to cut down his K's (actually come to think of it he K'd 140+ times last season whereas he has only K'd 110+ so far this late in the season)also consider the fact that he K'd more in the beginning of the season than he has now. Now yes, he has to learn to put the ball in play more, but his numbers have all gone up this season and he'll probably walk alittle more as well. EDIT: Didn't know he was also stealing bases as well.
  21. QUOTE(bigredrudy @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) And I really get sick when I see how he has cut down on his strikeouts Ditto. I'm surprised he has, considering I never liked Chris Young as a spect when he was here. You couldn't be more wrong.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) EDIT: And remember that Pods was a minor leaguer for 10 years. FWIW, it was nine years.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Man, I haven't looked at Owens' numbers in a while. They are actually trending upwards, aren't they? Yes, he's doing a Brian Anderson type hitting goin on lately, but I'm not gonna get too pumped until I see his average start to climb more, but all in all, he's making good progress.
  24. Our "best" option in this organization is in AAA who IMO, is really holding up our future as far as moves. If he can at least start hitting (he's on alittle hot streak right now) to go along with his good D (way better defensively then Pods) we would be in better shape than to have Kenny force a move in the offseason to get rid of Pods whereas he could get a better deal for him if this particular player would start getting his average up and getting on base a bit better and steal some more bags. Pretty easy to guess who I'm talking about here are his numbers to this day. G-104 AB-413 R-71 H-109 AVG-.264 2B-15 3B-5 HR-4 RBI-47 TB-146 BB-41 SO-59 SB-37 CS-10 OBP-.330 SLG-.354 Edit: I promised some posters I wouldn't type his name on this site until he gets his head out of his ass which he's somewhat starting to.
  25. So... who is everyone going for tonight, Twins? Tigers? Doesn't matter?
