He has lost velocity true.. but according to some post, he is pitching with an injury (tendonites in his right elbow) so I dont know if that'll keep him from losing that velocity permanitely. But I will say this, I doubt he'll last a week with those yankee fans and that spotlight..

Thought I'd post this (dunno if it was posted, but here..)

I doubt he'll have a 5+ era like his career numbers say. That was before he had the cutter and now he's in New York where he'll be taught to have that cutter moving better from the guy who has the best cutter in the game (Mariano Rivera) But he will be a mediocre pitcher. A #3 (solid #4 on most teams) I doubt he'll get a 2+ era like 2003. 10-15 wins you can count on from him though..

Contreras has the stuff to be a nasty closer. I'm sure the league will figure out Shingo next year (even if they do, Shingo will still be effective) will I like the set-up as well. Marte Shingo then Contreras to close it But I'll like it better if we get a starter for FA. If not, leave Contreras as a starter and Shingo as the closer for next year. But I'll be more focused on this year and worry about next year down the road.

Yea I could see a.. Garcia Buehrle Contreras Garland Cotts I think Neal can be stellar next season. He most likely will be in the rotation.

To me, I think we'll make at a Odalis Perez or a Pavano (etc..) in the offseason. If we don't get anyone, I'm satisfied with Diaz (or Cotts)
