  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 06:10 PM) He means promotion to A+ Ah that makes alot more sense. Usually when I see "callup" then people mean to the show. Usually "promoted" is a better word. Cease has been a stud this year though.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 06:05 PM) Cease is pitching tomorrow apparently and Cubs are actually considering calling him up. From low A?! That'd be pretty incredible (and very stupid).
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) Just announced. Fri - Shields Sat - Holland Sun - Quintana Ugh.. I'm going to the game Friday too. I guess the good news is I'll have a good chance to catch a souvenir or two in the RF seats.
  4. Brinson fits right in the age range for what we're doing. I'd much prefer Acuna over him if we were going the Braves route, but he is a tremendous prospect.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 07:27 AM) If the Brewers are the favorite, then a deal has to be built around Brinson. Add in one of their well regarded arms (Hader, Woodruff, Ortiz) and another interesting positional prospect (Diaz, Clark, Erceg) and I think you have a deal that works. I definitely think Clark will be in any deal with the Brewers, at least I hope so. Like Diaz quite a bit though.
  6. OT: (Although it might not be in a little while.. ) Ronald Acuna hit an absolute bomb last night. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...d=&sid=milb
  7. Acuna-Moncada would be a marketing dream for Boyer. It'll go perfectly with our Burger and Beer.
  8. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 09:00 AM) The issue for Yurchak seems to be defensively. He's already committed 6 errors in only 17 games in rookie ball. Unless the defense improves it will be tough for him to advance very far in the system. Considering the sox recent philosophy of drafting bats first, I don't think it'll be crippling for him.
  9. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 10:12 PM) Yurchak hits everything, huh? OBP machine. Quickly becoming one of my favorite prospects in the system.
  10. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) I chalk it up to Tatis starting to break out. If the Sox knew he had the potential to be a top 100 prospect no way they deal him in the Shield's trade. Yep. Guys like him are the reason prospect people here including myself advocate taking lower level guys with upside in deals (like Frazier potential deals for example). Those prospects are like free lottery tickets.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 10:50 AM) Which is exactly what Adolfo has gotten for the most part, with identical numbes. And being nearly two and a half years older...
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) This is an interesting factoid. Jeff Long @JeffLongBP Very impressed with Lucas Giolito so far tonight. Don't let his numbers fool you. Jon Roegele‏ @MLBPlayerAnalys Jul 8 Jon Roegele Retweeted Jeff Long Always wondered if he was rushed back after TJ surgery. Had the 4th fastest return time to same level/higher of the 400+ pros I've tracked. Fastball was 92-94 as well which is a bit higher than earlier in the season. That cut slider he's throwing this year has been a nice weapon for him.
  13. So Zack Burdi got pulled from the game with an apparent arm issue.. Yikes.
  14. QUOTE (ypres @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 06:53 PM) Eh, I'd rather our divisional rival be on the books for the money and not adding good/decent prospects to their terrible farm system. Especially the douchey one. Seriously. I'm getting tired of teams helping Detroit out with their s***ty contracts. I'm still pissed about them getting out of that Fielder contract years ago.
  15. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/video/topic/...252/v1594389683 https://mobile.twitter.com/MLBPipeline/stat...134525135187969 .... I'm getting moist. Pretty cool to see the three of them are good friends already. Hopefully all 3 will be in the same uniform in 2-3 years.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) Clark has shown the last two years his hit tool is mediocre He would be a terrific 3rd piece. Fits the OBP philosophy Hahn and company are aiming at.
  17. Houston putting up 19 runs to Toronto's 0...
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) Pint is getting touched up a bit in A ball and walks a lot of guys. He's 19 freaking years old and has immense upside. I'd absolutely love him in a Q deal. As the headliner, no, but guys with his stuff don't grow on trees. Would love to see what the sox staff can do with him. Maybe they'll see a mechanical flaw.
  19. Love Hawk calling out the defensive woes of this team. Even the young talent coming up aren't exactly defensively stellar at all.
  20. Some impressive history Lester just joined.. in a bad way.
  21. Said it earlier, but Smith has had one hell of a night framing pitches.
  22. OT: But Austin Beck just got his second professional hit, 1st XBH and 1st 3 RBIs. Now 2/25, 13 SOs on the season.
  23. Alright DRob, let's raise that trade value and get this win.
