  1. Blues just got weaker and the East got stronger. Win-win. Oh and our "favorite" non Hawks player Alex Burrows to Ottawa. (And he resigned there for 2 years aftrr trade)
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 26, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) Yeah, the Hawks are starting to look really good. Toews has been magnificent. His line in general have been outstanding. And the Wild need to go all in this year. They are probably gonna lose a good player in the expansion draft next season and they owe some of their younger guys big raises.
  3. Rockies gonna get a good look at Q.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) Hawks send a third round pick to Detroit for Tomas Jurco. Love them taking a risk. Kid has magic hands. Could be another Panik type underrated move.
  5. I wonder if that rumored fan protest in March will really hype up if Gar does little or nothing today.
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:45 AM) In the bullpen bar starting a few hours + before the game and then you have the option to buy a discounted lower deck ticket with it. Every ticket is a donation to charity and every beer is 9 dollars cheaper than it is during the game. Did that a couple of years ago. Always a blast.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 10:26 AM) Will be? haha Good catch. (and I should've said Albert Belle, but the point still applies)
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 10:23 AM) Buehrle had the advantage of being with the team for much longer, having playoff success here, and not being a hot head, but pound for pound I think Sale is way more talented than he ever was. And Carlos Quentin was a more talented hitter than Paul Konerko. I think you know whose number will be retired out of those two.
  9. Mike is really showing his age here. And well deserved for Buehrle. No doubt I'll be there.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 07:47 AM) Isn't that a good thing in a season where they are rebuilding? edit: As long as it's not one of the young rebuilding pieces that is. Bingo.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 12:31 AM) Like both equally Kalaspe but I would go with Q for the time being so he can be honored for the rest of his days as a White Sox pitcher. IMHO, Q has earned it. Once Q is traded we can switch to the Anderson, Rodon, Moncada banner. Again, great work. Actually, I'm with you on that one. If it ain't too much trouble of course.
  12. #2 For me Kal.
  13. Toews was possessed.

  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) To be clear, they didn't want to include Devers after including Moncada AND Kopech. I am sure if the Sox had asked for him as a headliner for Sale, they would have had him. Obviously. But yea, Moncada was their top prospect. They didn't wanna give the sox another infielder (3B at that) to completely gut their options in the future.
  16. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) Nick Confardo of the Boston Globe mentioned that the Red Sox would be a good landing spot for Frazier. I'm not sure Rafael Devers would be what the Sox are looking for, since they have Zack Collins who might project better and the Sox could also potentially be in play for Severino from the Nationals. They didn't want to include him for Chris Sale and he's a 3rd baseman. There's not a chance we can get him for Todd freaking Frazier.
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) I think he sucks and the Sox should have cut ties last year but he does seem to have a lot of fans in the org. The guy works. Gotta respect him for that. Yep. I remember Mike saying this and I was in complete agreement. Say what you will about Avi (and you can say ALOT), but you can never question his work ethic. That kid bust his ass off everyday. Whether its rehabbing an injury (and beats the odds coming back way faster than usual guys) or him running out every grounder to 1st base, the kid is all heart.
  18. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) Would Beer go 1.1 in the 2017 draft? http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/ask-b...semsrz5p10dK.97 Pretty much notes Beers value lies entirely in his bat, and historically bat only players don't go 1.1 They are extremely risky. I remember the Pedro Alvarez hype (sorry daa, I know that's your boy) who was an absolute joy to watch in college (talked about 1.1 since his freshman year). Matt Weiters as well (who slipped to 5, although his defensive reports weren't bad). I love Beer, but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't go 1.1 in '18 either depending on how this year goes. With that being said, what he did his freshman year was nothing short of incredible. He'd have to really fall off to not be at LEAST a 1.2/3.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) Sox love Severino, was in an article about a scout who watched him and the other Nats guys we got I believe I can see it. Kid has some Salvador Perez (albeit light/poor man's as many obviously question his bat) in his game. Tremendous arm. Can definitely see him winning a gold glove in the future, plus it would be nice to have another young player who can bring it with the glove other than Anderson.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) It was their choice. They wanted nothing to do with IT2 and they released Whiteside. LOL. I was talking about the players, not management.
  21. Crazy to think the 2012 Sacramento Kings had a young Whiteside, Thomas and Cousins and seeing what they turned into today. In my man J4L's word, could've had the NBA "shook" had they stayed together.(obviously not their choice in that) Oh, and that same year, OKC had a young Harden, Durant and Westbrook too.
  22. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 09:08 PM) Has easily replaced Shaw. Yep. Danault would've done the same with Kruger if he were still here as well. Both look like good picks by Stan. A shame we couldn't keep Danault.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:19 PM) This is absolutely a no brainer. Thank your for putting this together for us. What he said.
  24. My god.. I know Ben Simmons hasn't played yet, but I find it hilarious people are forgetting about him. If there is a kid who has a chance to be generational (cough.. J4L.. ) it's that kid. Sucks that his development got off to a slow start though.
  25. He probably has to wear a knee brace for the rest of his career thanks to that Fowler collision. I just don't see him holding up anywhere but 1B (as far as playing adequate defense) in the NL sadly.
