QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 01:02 AM) I know that this isn't worth a tread of its own and it can be deleted at any time, but just wanted to note that after 9 years, I FINALLY made it to the 1000 post club. Today commemorates my 9th anniversary on Soxtalk......so I thought that I may just as well post it now. I know its no big deal.................but just somethimng that i wanted to do. Thanks to everyone at Soxtalk for passing along all of the information that you gather on all aspects of the team..................and to all of the mods who have helped me out when I had questions about some uncertainties that I was unfamilair with when posting. I also know that I am not well known or noted for posting much. I guess I really only post when I feel that I have something to say...or when there is something that i feel that I can add to the conversation. I do enjoy reading much of the info and opinions that everyone has on a daily basis from though. Anyway..... Thank you to EVERYONE for all of your input.......................all the way from new members and all the way up to the 5 and upcoming 6 figure posters. I know you very well my friend. Both pretty much started together (you beat me by a few hours.. ) PM'd a bit over the years and had certain fan clubs back in the day. I remember you joking about reaching 1,000 years ago here. You were already pretty long in the tooth to begin with. About time brother.

Never thought I'd see anyone get it. When I first started posting here, it was amazing looking at Jason's post count, but he is the top dog/leader/creator. Then when Mike started his ridiculous rise, others came to challenge at one point (qwerty, Balta, etc.) but then all of them faded. 100+ thousand posts. Me and my boy Knight both joined in January and even with our combined post counts are still way short.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) And he was awful when he played. I've lost a ton of respect for you with this post. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) I would give up Viciedo plus pitching to bring in CarGo. Just watch some highlights...Gold Glove defense, aggressive on the base paths, contact hitter w/ some pop. Dayan is younger and cheaper, but my goodness- this is that five tool guy that can be the next face of our franchise. Did I mention he is a lefty at bat?!? As you can tell, i'm a HUGE CarGo fan. Get creative Mr. Hahn! You might be the second biggest fan of his on this board next to J4L. (I loved CarGo when he was on my OOTP team. Such a beast for me)

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) I hopefully will be in the hospital. (My wife is due January 1st) Now that is awesome.

My girlfriend is throwing a new years eve party with my (and her) closest friends at her apartment. Should be epic.
  7. Conference call with the PA and NHL at 11. Alot of rumors that this lockout will finally end soon. We'll see.
  8. Well, thanks to stat corrections I wound up getting 3rd place instead of 4th. I guess all in all, I'll take it.
  9. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 25, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Everyone knew he could defend and rebound. To me, the biggest thing is he's drastically cut his foul rate. I figured that'd limit him to closer to 25 MPG. He's still not a good offensive player, he's a mediocre finisher with a very high turnover rate. By far the biggest key with him.
  10. Merry Christmas soxtalk!
  11. Merry Christmas to my long lost brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles here on soxtalk.
  12. Lost to my opponent for 3rd place by .03 points, which was the closest matchup all year... Are you f***ing kidding me? Alexander screws me over last week getting 0 points, and now this week has a good game and I bench him. First place all year and cause of two players (really one) I f***ing lost money and the douche who won last year, won again this year. He's my boy, but I gotta hear his mouth until next year (even though my team never lost to him.. kicked his ass twice before the playoffs) when we play again. Horrible.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 11:26 PM) Ryan Flaherty...? Not a bad guess. That would be a classic KW move when he was GM. (Buy low, former 1st round pick, upside)
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) Good god is that a lot of money. I didn't think he'd get $5 mill, let alone $7 per for 2 years I think they wanted their version of Oliver Perez back. Strikeouts are sexy.
  15. To one of the greatest catchers in White Sox history and one of the smartest base runners in the history of the game. Thanks for the memories Dennis the Menace.
  16. Unbelievable weekend. Two of my f***ing players got 0 points for me (Alexander and Tynes) and I was still up (only) 6.14 point to my opponent who had Greene for the Jets. Greene goes down early, and victory somehow was in my reach. First time playing in 5-6 years and I was going to the finals with still only one loss with a chance to win big money. (which I surely need with how these past two-three months has gone for me personally) What happens?! By the grace of hell, Greene returns and puts up enough points that this f***er is playing in the finals (which he will surely lose) and I'm stuck playing for 3rd place for $20 bucks. Un-f***ing-believeable. I overanalyzed (had Stevie Johnson playing before changing it to Alexander) and my buddy (who was the #2 seed) had Russell Wilson playing. (who he changed to Big Ben though he did well, but not as well as 40+ point Wilson) Both decisions cost us wins. #1 and #2 seed.. playing for 3rd place.
  17. Lol at this thread. And first game I've caught in a while and of course Noah's superb vision I got to witness again. Hell, even Nate was efficient.
  18. This is all were talking about here at work. Just sad and sickening. Kindergarten kids.. that's as sick as it gets.
  19. Grew up in South Chicago, fell in love watching the sox and Thomas (along with others) back in 92. Went to my first game in 93. Lost to the Royals, but overall had a great time with my father, his best friend and son in my first game. (Joey Cora was pretty good that game too) Having said that, Ken Griffey Jr. was the reason why I started playing baseball. He was my idol growing up, the reason I batted lefty and played centerfield all through the years. And just like him, leg injuries ruined my career in becoming a sure fire major leaguer with the Marlins and a couple of my other friends who were drafted.
  20. Jenni Rivera. Famous music singer in the Latin community, killed in a plane crash. She was 43. Formerly married to Esteban Loaiza.
  21. Never seen Marquez that ripped before. Jesus.
  22. My playoffs start next week, but Seattle scoring 43.25 points was insane. Up 27 but he has Welker and Daniels tomorrow. Crazy thing is, this will also be my opponent in the playoffs next week.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 07:31 AM) I'm sure most of Soxtalk will hate him soon enough because he isn't the classic home run hitting 3B. My hope is that Morel is really healthy, can unlearn all of the bad habits he picked up trying to save his back, and can actually become a decent starter. Keppinger would be a platoon/super-sub type of guy, which would really be ideal for this team. I can already envision the offensive Juan Pierre, just at 3B comparisons. (I will admit though, I'm not a big fan of Kep like others here, but he is a solid super sub, when used correctly)
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) I decided to really watch, undistracted, last night. WOW was it terrible. edit: I can't even imagine the times when he was starting anymore, and why he was considered good. He just doesn't push our offense, and our offense needs a dynamic point guard. He is one of my least favorite Bulls in the post Jordan era. I was not happy when he was brought back.
  25. Lance Louis is a big loss for an already horrible O-Line. (probably our best one in fact) ACL tears are not good for big lineman. Hopefully he comes back strong and still is the same guy. You can tell Cutler was not happy seeing one of his best blockers (along with Garza) in distraught.
