  1. When Juan Pierre hits a home run off you... you better rethink your priorities in your pitching life.
  2. So.. I wonder what the lineup will be tonight by Ozzie. More Mark Kotsay?! Hell yes!
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) the idea is EXTREMELY tantalizing. Your wife is awesome.. That is all.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) I have. I don't agree with it. Clearly we have two different opinions. I respect yours and I would never force someone into marriage if they didn't believe in it being something more/special/etc. I happen to and found the person I will spend the rest of my life with and have every intent of staying by her side in good times and bad. We are a team. Is it cliche, sure. Have a million others said it and gotten divorced, absolutely, does that mean I'm not going to try, absolutely not. (albeit I sure as hell don't plan on it and have always said I would wait it out till I found the one and I did). It doesn't hurt that your wife is hot as hell either..
  5. Lets hope Torres can get at least half these runs later on tonight.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Yeah if he loses the gold glove (particularly to Jeter), I might just snap. I will only except a loss if it was Andrus. Nobody else.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) It's amazing what your eyes don't see, isn't it? A.J.'s actually been quite good with RISP and 2 outs. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) 32 at bats, 4 2b, 1 HR, 11 hits. It is not hard... to be worse than Mark Kotsay with RISP overall.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Second? That's debatable. Haha.. wish I was lying.. but it's true. I was one of the ones who was disgusted at the trade. I thought I ripped him to shreds.. then I saw Kal's post and realize at least he hates him more than me. Prior to the Cubs, I was never a fan of his since like 2003 with the Marlins. (obviously why)
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) Cmon now Ger....J4L gave credit where credit is due...now it's your turn... I will always hate Juan Pierre (I hate him the second most on ST behind Kalapse) and yes, I will actually give him praise for hitting a ball farther than I ever thought he would hit a ball. Congrats Juan.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) He hits one a year. Prior to that, he hasn't hit one in nearly two years (Sept. 8, 2008)
  11. QUOTE (johnnymick @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:10 PM) Anyone notice Edwin was on of the first guys to give him a high five? Black Power! (Hey me and J4L do it all the time)
  12. Congrats Rick Porcello. You just gave up a home run to a guy with 0 power.. and who hasn't hit one in nearly 2 years. Haha... Rios!
  13. http://www.soxtalk.com/chat/chatroom.html Lets get sexy.
  14. God I hope he actually stays retired this time. Not only does this help the Bears, but it also helps myself to not hear that guys name again.... until he is inducted to the HOF.
  15. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 03:45 AM) I like Wilkins a lot but I would like to see him at Low-A. His numbers in rookie ball, while very impressive, don't mean a lot because he really should be blowing that level of competition away. Agreed. I've actually been paying more attention to Saladino in Kanny. Hell, he is actually younger than Wilkins as well.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:23 AM) If you haven't noticed, AJ doesn't exactly have many fans around here right now other than Greg. Everyone's been pulling for Castro to get as many PAs as possible. So don't think AJ's ineptitude has gone unnoticed. But at least AJ serves a purpose defensively! Kotsay serves basically no purpose, other than to cheer up Gordo when he's feeling bad about only getting laid twice the day before. AJ doesn't get as much hate because he has been rock solid defensively and calls a great game for our pitching staff. I'm sure others here would actually like to have him hit and not have, which will probably be, the worst offensive year of his career (unless he really goes Joe Mauer on us from here on out) not to mention having a very low BABIP, but A.J. is not a big problem (+0.5 WAR) at all even with all that and he serves a purpose. I cannot say the same thing about Mark Kotsay other than playing a good 1B every once in a while when Konerko is off. Ozzie talks about flexibility from him... then why hasn't he been in the OF that much, and when he is, why is he so terrible? If you are going to be terrible on the field, at least be good with the bat (and vice-versa) and if Ozzie wants flexibility, a guy only playing one position is not his guy when you have guys like Jones, Lillibridge and Teahen who will and have played multiple. (though brutal defensively, at least gives you a solid bat and has to play cause of salary) Hell even Dayan can play 1B/3B. QUOTE (Ranger @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 12:16 AM) I don't have the numbers on this, but I would guarantee that he's not the worst violator on the team as far as stranding runners. I'd venture to say that AJ, at least, is as bad as it gets. A.J. BRSP% (baserunner scoring percentage) 14% PA less than 2 out baserunners scored: 42% PA runner on second and runner advances: 55% GIDP rate and into: 18% 10 (333 PA) 2 outs and RISP: .344/.447/.563/1.010 Late and close: .188/.220/.333/.553 Overall RISP: .260/.321/.384/.705 Kotsay BRSP% (baserunner scoring percentage) 10% PA less than 2 out baserunners scored: 46% PA runner on second and runner advances: 52% GIDP rate and into: 16% 8 (253 PA) 2 outs and RISP: .160/.222/.360/.582 Late and close: .133/.278/.167/.444 Overall RISP: .148/.281/.315/.596
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) We have a 1 game lead in the standings. Having him on this roster is risking him costing us a game every single night we play. And that is one too many unnecessary risks. C'mon Mark... If you don't think that -0.9 WAR is helping us, then you are kidding yourself. Chemistry!
  18. I wonder if someone is gonna pull up Kotsay's stats hitting with RISP which would make Juan Pierre blush. I will be grabbing the popcorn in either case. Rangers post reminds me of my own talking to Greg a couple days ago about something alittle bit similar... http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...30&start=30
  19. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) No one sees a person & says "Damn, she looks like she'd be interesting as hell to talk to!" Speak for yourself. If I see a chick and she looks and has the style of Lady Gaga, I would want to know what in the hell possessed her to look like that.
  20. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) I won't be "coming back" in a few years ...I will still be here in a few years and you guys will see! We'll see... Just in case Chase gets traded or something in the future, I'm bringing back this quote from ya..
  21. Teahen with a 3:0 BB/SO ratio. It's up to the sox when they feel he's good to go. Bellamy still adjusting to AA. Blanke with a .942 OPS now in GF. Crawford Simmons was amazing tonight. Problem is.. he is in the KC affiliate and he dominated our Bristol affiliate.
  22. Happy BDay SoxFest. And Happy B-Day to one of my bros, my guy, and one of the craziest S.O.B. on soxtalk, but a hellova poster J4L. :cheers Guys.
