QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) Lou Piniella announces that he is retiring at the end of this season. Not a big surprise, and I think it keeps him from being fired for a younger manager any point this summer. His contract ends this year anyway. My thought exactly. This was 100% to avoid being fired. Now the Cubs look bad if they fire a guy who is retiring.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) Toyota + Tesla working together to produce an all-electric Rav4. I am really debating if I want to buy Tesla stock. I think it might be a good long term investment.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Wow, just saw this now. Can't believe it's not a bigger story. The NFL is ignoring these stories as much as it can, meanwhile, the evidence just keeps mounting and mounting that the game the way it is currently played must either change, or an equipment change is necessary. This is simply ridiculous. Every time I read a story like this, I grow happier and happier that my mom forbid me from playing football. -
This would be banned in Texas...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) James Gammon, who played manager Lou Brown in the "Major League" movies, died today at age 70. Oh no! "Nice catch, Hayes. Don't ever f***in' do it again." "You may run like Hayes. but you hit like s***. " "All right people, we got 10 minutes 'till game time, let's all gather 'round. I'm not much for giving inspirational addresses, but I'd just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish last. The local press seems to think that we'd save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriters' time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big s***burger to eat!"

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 07:59 AM) Steve broke multiple site rules, including attacking other posters. He is serving a suspension for those actions. Nobody is ever going to be suspended for being wrong with a prediction, that's just ridiculous. Sadly I had a feeling he would be suspended sooner rather than later.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 12:09 PM) I hope he went to the doctor. Most things that come to mind which might cause that are not good. They took him to the hospital, but was discharged by noon. UPDATE: I just talked to someone who has been in contact with him. They did blood work and CAT scans and everything came back normal. Apparently over time his short term memory came back. They are pretty sure he had some sort of seizure. But no cause has been found yet.

I happen to be a Disney expert/fanboi. I'd be happy to help you with anything you need. One forum I love is WDWMagic.com. THere's a bunch of really great people over there. When next spring are you planning on going? Try your best to avoid holiday weekends if at all possible. My wife has a book that has a graph of the peaks and valleys of attendance. It's a great guide to judge when to go.

Very strange thing happened this morning: A high school sophomore (Maybe Jr?) that volunteers for the church I work for work up this morning completely disoriented. He has all his long term memory, but has no memory of the last week and didnt know what day it was. Very very weird.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:14 AM) I'd say Rudy Fernandez or try and get James Anderson/Xavier Henry since both of those guys have reportedly had contractual issues (HOW? IN THE DRAFT?) with the Spurs and Grizz. How? The Grizz are lowballing Xavier Henry... SBNation.com -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) It is a tax on the handing down of high value estates to one's heirs. So yes, it happens after death. Calling it a "Death tax" is just as loaded as calling someone "anti-choice" or "Pro-abortion". fair point. I know this tax is something that will never effect me, but I just dont like it. That's my opinion.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:43 PM) The idea that it's actually a death tax is laughable. Correct me if I am wrong, but it's a tax imposed after assets are transfered after ones death. Correct? I know "Death Tax" is a bit extreme, but it does describe it pretty well IMO.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) I'll bet the entire thing, because the Dems will cave and Obama won't veto it...but any bill to bring it back retroactively would have to have 60 votes. Good luck getting that past this Senate...let alone the next one. Good. I hate the idea of a "Death Tax"
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) The next Congress will make sure that doesn't happen. The retroactive part, or the entire death tax?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) Wow. ummm... actually if the tax is reinstated (which I whole heartedly oppose), I heard it might be retroactive to Jan 1, 2010.
