QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 1, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) Lol this exclusive from WBBM is about a year late. I have all the schematics for the plan from the design firm and have had them for over a year. I posted them here like a year ago. Its funny how exclusive WBBM is though. Here is a sample of what I got. I think I am the one that made that, didnt I? I remember posting something similar. Yea, we talk about this last off-season. I remember it very clearly. EDIT: Here is the thread from last year.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) I love well thought out political humor. Especially when it isn't "attacking" someone.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Bulls***. Bush did do it but always made sure the cameras were not there because he didn't want it as a photo op. TPM can STFU and so can you on this subject. Obama went, they took pictures, I may not like it but he did what he did (I'm not going to cry about it, like some others, though), and that's how he wanted it handled, so that's it. End of story. Actually, if you read the quote, it says a CBS reported said Bush had never gone to Dover... ever.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Latest phony idiocy - criticizing Obama for going to Dover and being photographed while saluting the bodies (nevermind that the press is always there). What, is he supposed to do it in secret or some s***? Of all things to make a controversy over, this? For real? So, apperently... Respecting the Bodies of Fallen Soldiers w/ Cameras Via TPM-

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:54 AM) CNN' problem isn't bias, they're just shallow and therefore they suck. And by shallow you mean they keep their coverage and analysis simplistic?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:44 AM) So you criticize the GOP for employing a slippery slope argument that points to exactly what you also believe will eventually happen? No no. I am saying that is the argument they are using. Not criticizing it. They very well may have some valid points if you believe universal / single payer is a bad idea. I would also argue while I think this is step one in a multi-step PLAN, that doesn't mean the other steps will come to be. AS you can see, there is great outcry by some over a public option. Universal and single payer is a MUCH harder battle. Just because there is a plan doesnt mean it will come to be. The GOP is angling this as Reform = Socialist Single Payer Universal Healthcare, which isnt the case.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) It never takes long for things to balance out, does it? http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeff-poor/200...ty-promo-msnbc- I dont really see the MSNBC NEWS department being as politically active as Fox News NEWS department, but I do believe their commentators are getting close to Fox News level. I used to watch MSNBC before and through the primary and election season. But during that time the organization, and specifically the commentators, have moved very left and that bothers me. I still say Fox News is more to the right than MSNBC is to the left, but MSNBC isnt far behind. CNN is largely my primary source of cable news coverage because I do think they off the most Fair and Balanced coverage of the big 3.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) Ah. So there won't be a true universal healthcare program. I've said for a log time now that i believe this is the first step of many. A drastic shift to universal, or single payer, or even a public option would be very hard. The first step iis to get the public option out there. Then once that is in place and people stop freaking out and realize it isnt so bad, then you move to universal. After that, then single payer... but I just dont see that happening in my lifetime.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 07:30 AM) Can someone explain to me how this becomes universal health care? I haven't been on top of this issue. The GOP is using the "slipery slope" argument. Basically, once we offer a public option, it'll slowly migrate towards a system where the government squeezes out the other insurers.
-
So, I haven't really been following the heathcare thing too much recently. However, this morning on the news I heard specifics about the opt-in/out portion of the public option. All I've read before is there could possibly be a opt-in or out public option, but never who gets to do the optioning. This morning they said it was the states that get to opt-in/out. I really like that idea. It clears up a lot of the constitutional debate that I am sure the GOP will throw at this bill to stall and/or kill it. Once you give the states the option to go in our out. it's no longer a federal vs states rights debate. I am still in favor of a single payer system, but I think this will work well enough.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) um, he's been doing basically the exact same thing while on ABC for years. He wasn't a reporter, he was a paid Conservative commentor who appeared on their shows. If that is the case, then I retract my statements. I havent watched ABC news in some time, my memory of him was much more of investigative guy... but my memory isnt immune for false memories.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Without knowing the guy, I can say for sure that a big staple of the Libertarian diet is a large disdain for the expansion of government. Here's where I see the problem: As a supposed journalist, he should maintain an openness to the fact. Now, obviously every journalist on the planet has some bias one way or the other. We are all humans, it's natural. But, to lead a cause against something, then down the road report on it puts you in a major ethical bind. Do you report the facts, or the other side of the story, or do you actively slant coverage to your view point. At this point, the journalist has lost all credibility on the story. It's a journalism vs activism thing. If he wants to be a Fox News political activist, good for him. Just dont act like you are a journalist.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) [mindless drivel] Oh man, I used to like that guy, until he differs from my opinion, now he's just an asshole. [/mindless drivel] How DARE someone disagree with something the great AHB believes in!!! Do you realize how pathetic this makes you look? That's my problem with you posting like an RSS feed of things you do/do not believe in. It has nothing to do with my beliefs on Health care. It's a guy who I respected as a journalist who is apparently bending to Fox News' corporate RNC mouth piece mentality. Does he REALLY believe health care reform is bad, or is he walking the corporate line? I dont know anymore. It's amazing that when people go to Fox News they all of a sudden become activists.

Man, and I used to like John Stossel. Fox's John Stossel To Rally Against Health Care Reform Makes you wonder if he is there as a "reporter"/Fox News Employee or on his own accord.
