  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) I really hate myself for not recording more games during the 90's. If anybody has any games from that time they'd like to sell, please, message me. Yea, so many great Hall of Fame players played in Chicago when i was young and I really wish I had been older to really appreciate them more. Jordon, Thomas, Sandburg, Payton,and those are just to name a few and most had retired or reached their peak before I even got into high school (freshman year was 1997). Back then I watched sports, but didn't really "take in" and fully understand their greatness.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) I hope Clausen is ready to be playing for the Browns next year. I hope Quinn tells him to try everything in his power to stay out of Cleveland.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) It will also be used to dump some debt, which will free up some cash for operating expenses for the new ownership. So, they are gaming the system. They can afford to pay the creditors, they just dont want to.
  4. For those watching the TBS HD feed, I'm really digging the pitch tracker that they have on the far right edge of the screen. It's cropped out in SD, but visible in HD. It's simple and not obtrusive. A good use of "dead space". PS: Go Rockies!
  5. This is all about "gaming" the system to get the sale through faster.
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) "I'm not exactly sure how it goes on. . . " I think I know...
  7. THe problem is that Cleveland signed both QBs to big money... and they are torn as to who to use. normally when you have a big contract player, you play him regardless because you need to validate the money. But, since they have TWO big contract guys at the same position, they flip and flop back and forth as to who they want to play. It's a real mess.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) Six Flags Astroworld closed in 2005. Six Flags... AstroDome!

  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) If it hasn't closed, there is a themepark pretty much across the street from the Astrodome anyway. oh. I retract my statement then. I didnt know that.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) Anybody interested in owning your own domed building? The Silverdome in Pontiac, MI is up for auction. The AstroDome is still having issues post-NFL football as well. They were going to convert it into a hotel, but those plans fell through and now some are looking at it s a movie production venue. I vote indoor theme park for either of those.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) We had that discussion a while back about how that crowd in D.C. couldn't possibly only be 75,000 people. The estimate for this one is somewhere in the range of 150,000 people. It looks like an awful lot. Which I think suggests pretty well how hard it is to judge the size of a crowd from a limited image. Well, if we use the teabager conversion chart.. or is that the Glenn Beck converstion chart... there were about half a million there.
  13. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) well one thing i can say with confidence....denvers offense is much better suited for orton's strengths than ours is...and i also believe ours is better suited for cutlers strengths than theirs is ....kyle looks really good...lots of short, high percentage passes....not to mention good receivers and a great Oline helps I was thinking that last night. THe Bears offense was designed... and Turners tendencies... are for players like Rex Grossman and now Cutler. It's designed for a down the field gun slinger.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Derek Anderson is probably gonna finish 2 of 17 passing for 23 yards, yet Cleveland will probably win on a FG here at the end. This maybe the worst game ever. This has to be some sort of a record for fewest completed passes and fewest passing yards in a "complete game win" by a starting QB... at least in the last 40-50 years.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) Well if we're playing that game the SNES version beats all hands-down. SNES Mario Kart was flat out awesome.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) Jessica Rabbit was robbed. +1
  17. Anyone hear the reporter from Denver that Bores and Bernsie interviewed today? Wow... just wow. The basic premise of this guys argument... Orton is better than Cutler because Orton makes the defense better. The interview can be heard here.
  18. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 03:33 PM) Let's help Obama win the Heisman too! Vote here! Write him in, I did! http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/theheismanvote/2009/ The movement has be started. hehehe http://digg.com/politics/Write_In_Barack_O...n_Trophy_Winner

  21. Ok, so I was reading up on the United Football League that started yesterday. An interesting fact fame up on their Wikipedia page:
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) More FB stupidness: Our foreign policy has now been officially put in a straitjacket by the Nobel committee. BHO will now spend the rest of his presidency trying to live up to his international image as a pacifist and an appeaser. He's going to make Neville Chamberlain look like a hawk. Today is the first time I've ever actually deleted comments from my facebook posts. The stupidity coming from people... and specifically one person was staggering! The fact that one guy tried to link Obama's abortion and gay marriage policy to him getting the peace award made my mind hurt!
