  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) Bulls signed Lindsey Hunter today He 3 PPG and 1.4 APG make us so much better
  2. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) How great would it be if "Pappyland" was foreclosed upon... its mean but I would laugh pretty hard. oh... how do i say this?? hmm.... he'd have a place to go I hear.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 07:24 PM) Former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack's name is bouncing around as Secretary of Agriculture. My mother-in-law (born and raised in Iowa) HATES Vilsack. Said he was a horrible Gov.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) CNN says Begich now up 814 votes, with 40,000 remaining to be counted, mostly from the Anchorage area (which is seen as heavily Begich favored). Looks like Stevens will in fact probably lose. Good. :headbang
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Interesting, I thought Lugar already declined? He's fully qualified and probably the best for the job, though. Like I said before, things change once you've actually been asked.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 10:38 AM) You seem to want to apply the bats*** fringe complainers (who complain about EVERYTHING the other side does) to the Obama campaign as a whole, and to any of us who voted for him. I really think it was ever Obama's intention, or his words, to have some sort of ban on any and all current and former lobbyists having any role whatsoever in his administration. That would be incredibly silly and impractical. Also, do you think anyone in their right mind honestly thought that Obama would change EVERYTHING? No one said anything of the sort here, and Obama's campaign certainly didn't. There are only so many things that can be changed. Yes, Obama's main theme was change. Yes, I think he can indeed change a number of important things. No, no one I have seen has ever said that Obama will change every single damn thing. Are you going to flip out if Obama walks the same path from Marine 1 to the White House that Bush did? Obama team announces new rules on lobbyists
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) Anyone else find it odd that the turnout in Alaska was lower than in 2004? Seeing that this was a historic election and their governor was on one of the tickets I must admit I'm a little concerned. That and the fact the Stevens was down 22 points in some polls beforehand and it looks like he will now win. We'll know tomorrow:
  8. Game On: Obama Dispatches Aides To Georgia Senate Race
  9. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) Shoulda taken that paycut and stayed at the Score... Ego = MASSIVE Never woulda happened
  10. CSN doesnt come on in my house unless there's a Sox, Bulls, or Blackhawks game on. So, luckily it'll be pretty easy fro me to miss Mikey.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) I think we are seeing a lot of indications that Obama plans to do some significant rebranding of the Presidency. Hopefully, he can put some real actions behind the marketing. almost a... modernization in a way. Not just the office of the presidency, but I think you'll see modernization across government. And hey, the guy uses a Mac, so that's a start!
  12. A Weekly YouTube Address? 3rd to Last Graff: Not that the audio from the YouTube address couldn't be used on the radio, but the idea is very interesting.
  13. Longoria was a man child. I had no doubt he'd win and I was pretty sure ARam would finish 2nd.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) Again, the center-right thing has nothing do with whether we prefer Democrats to Republicans, it's where we are as a country on the actual political scale. Compared to a full-blown socialist country the Democrats are still "right-wing." See, the GOP isnt using it in that frame. They say it as in "In America, we have the left (Democrats) and the right (Republicans) and America is a little to the right of center." So, when they say America is right of center, they mean American's prefer the policies of the GOP over Democrats and the Gallup poll tends to show the opposite. Especially on the moral "hot button" issues.
  15. Obama Team Weighs What to Take On First One could argue that a "New Deal" focused squarely on Energy Independence could kill two birds with one stone. Imagine a massive work project building a new energy grid and erecting wind turbines coast to coast.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) Then there's this from Gallup: • Americans are pro-choice (67 percent) • Americans support the Geneva Conventions with regards to torture (57 percent) • Americans don't want the government snooping in their bank and internet records (67 percent) • Americans want the USA Patriot Act changed or eliminated entirely (81 percent) • Americans support protecting the environment at the expense of economic growth (55 percent) • Americans believe that global warming is happening (86 percent) • Americans believe that it's the government's responsibility to provide health care (69 percent) • Americans support the decriminalization of marijuana (55 percent) and support the legalization of medical marijuana (78 percent) • Americans are opposed to attacking Iran (68 percent, according to a CNN Poll) • Americans support labor unions (60 percent) • Americans want government funding of embryonic stem cell research (56 percent) • Americans believe that free trade hurts American workers (65 percent) • Americans believe rich people and corporations aren't paying enough taxes (66 and 71 percent respectively) • And overall party affiliation? 54 percent of Americans are Democrats (with leaners) and 39 percent are Republicans (with leaners). I've argued for a long time that the majority (50%+) of Americans tend to lean more to the left than the GOP wants you to believe. We always hear this is a Center-Right country. I've thought most polls tend to show its the opposite. And these gallup polls backup my point.
  17. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) An attorney was screwing around with another attorney, he's a big time Obama supporter, so she bought a McCain and Palin cut out and decorated his office with all Republican stuff on election day. It killed her to buy them and give money to the RNC, but she did it for the prank. My wife's family does a "Haunted Hayride" near Iowa City every 2 years. This year, the opening scene was my wife's uncle in a George Bush "Jr" mask endorsing the cardboard cutout of John McCain. Many felt that was the scariest part of the ride.
  18. Even when she tries to correct herself, she gets it wrong... again!
  19. I just found this out a few days ago. In the Radio part of iTunes, 670 and 1000 both stream their audio. Pretty cool. No need to go to their websites anymore. Also steaming on iTunes is WCKG, WLS, and WBBM.
  20. QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Poor thing. They probably made her shop off the rack!! she didnt have a $200,000 shopping allowance?
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) From the same website: How dare they give college students the OPTION to perform community service. i didnt like the college part. that's much better.
