QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) A lot of them don't want to participate in phys ed either. Probably why we have the most unhealthy youth in the world for a nation as advanced as we are. she do gym class and community service when you can be bunkered up in your bedroom playing War Craft for 4 hours?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) I like the concept of "calling on" Americans to do things though. No problems with that at all. wait, "calling on" isnt slave labor? oh might wanna tell Alpha that.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) yeah, how many more times are they going tohave to recount those votes to make up the difference there? they havent even started to recount yet. These are still votes coming in. -
We have become a country of lazy, self-centered, fatasses who couldn't careless about our fellow citizens. I welcome community service. However, I disagree on the college part. Middle school and high school is ok with me.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) But all I know is that to get tickets to go to the actual thing, you have to get them from your local representative, in my case, John Sarbanes. That's not going to happen so I won't even bother, it's not like I'm trying to be close enough so I can see Obama's breath in the air. Rumor is Obama wants to make it as open as possible.

Also, when is it? Obviously the 20th, but what time? Is it pretty standard?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) I'm hearing that Obama will most likely pick off the Omaha electoral vote in Nebraska. it seems very likely. has this ever happened before?

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) Coleman's lead has been slashed in half since yesterday. It is now 337 votes. Apparently as they go through the provisionals and they recheck the numbers, we might see the lead further dwindle or potentially completely evaporate. That's a difference of 0.11%. now, if Frankin takes the lead when 100% of all ballots are cast, I assume Coleman will tell the state to stop the recount? He said Frankin should. I hold him to the same standard. FYI: down to 336 lead now (down one more vote) -

Didnt take long for ads to start running in the Georgia run off: -
The episode that aired Wednesday (less than 24 hours after the election) included exact quotes from Obama's acceptance speech as well as references to Obama's Grandmother passing away. South Park's work flow is such that they can turn around an entire episode in 6 days. No doubt the bulk of the episode was pre-done with the front portion done through the night on Tuesday-Wednesday. The episode, "About Last Night," revolves around an Ocean's 11-style plot to steal the Hope diamond. Here is the open: The full episode can be seen here: http://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/207897/

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) Bobby Jindal is the clubhouse leader for 2012 IMO. I'd be surprised if Rudy makes another relevant national run for public office again (although it's debateable if his run this time even turned out to be relevant). I agree with Jindal. But he might be a little too far right for people to stomach. Especially if Obama does well in his first 2-3 years. IMO, it all really depends on how the GOP civil war ends. Civil war might be a little too drastic, but you get my point. i see a split between Social and Fiscal conservatives with some in the middle.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) Energy Security Council? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the "Secretary of Energy" a "White House 'energy czar'"? I can see putting a group of people around the Secretary of Energy. I have no problem with that. But like it says, it has to balance with the "Council on Environmental Quality".

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) Obama should've named his COS snuggles the bear. you didn't hear the bad news? Snuggles died yesterday. He was up in Alaska and wanted great Sarah Palin on the tarmac. He was wearing a beautiful white jacket that just came out of the drier. She shot him dead... thought he was a Polar Bear. RIP Snuggles.

QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) I heard on the news that Lugar told a reporter he would not accept the Sec. of State job if offered. that is correct.

Less than 48 hours after the election... and the partisan name calling continues: Yes, clearly Obama should have chosen John McCain or Jim DeMint (most conservative senator) for his CoS.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) I was able to get on a minute ago. not me. but it could be a DNS thing on my end. The DNS service my work uses tends to lag. So, maybe I can get to it at home.

Stoney was just on the Score and closed out his report by saying "SOME" teams may want to move Hudson to center field. He emphasized SOME. Seems like maybe a hint at some things he cant say.
