  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) I think the same applies to me. Obama is the closest I have seen to an "honest" politician in a while, but even he has to carefully choose his words. I'd be like "dude, you're a dumbass. Next question please" With that being said, I have to admit the thought of running has run through my head more than once. I think I have some good ideas and I am very centrist (a little form the left, a little from the right). But, I dont think I am in any way qualified nor do I have the connections or route to do so.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) I kind of agree with McCain... it's not like he's in favor of lowering pay for women or something. Having that much regulation opens up a messy can of worms and could do more harm than good. I see both sides. Statistically there is still a difference on pay between woman an men at the same level. But, yea. It's a sink hole. I'm conflicted.
  3. This warrants debate: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/2008/04/...al_pay_bill.php
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) Am I a politician or am I just the "some guy" I am now? Just as you are today
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) I would be an epic failure as a politician because I'm incapable of mincing words, I'd take "telling it like it is" a little too far and this country couldn't handle my blunt, sometimes painful honesty. I think the same applies to me. Obama is the closest I have seen to an "honest" politician in a while, but even he has to carefully choose his words. I'd be like "dude, you're a dumbass. Next question please"
  6. Quick "Caption This" Time (sorry, this is TOO good to pass up):
  7. Here's something I don think we have every talked about before: If you were approached by a party insider and asked to run for state or national office... would you do it?
  8. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) I don't mind one, but two would be one too many . . . No argument from me on that... well... oh I'm not going there.
  9. QUOTE (Soxy @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) I don't know--I don't mind a python in mine from time to time. :notworthy
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) I thought this might be a good talking point. Oh, it's absolutely 100% worthy of debate. but if not handled with care... it could get very messy.
  11. oh this is going to get interesting. I refrain from comment because I can not properly articulate my point with out pissing off one side or the other or BOTH.
  12. Snakes are ok with me in a controlled environment. But not in my bedroom!
  13. I want to go on record that I was officially wrong in having wanted to dump Crede before the season started.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Maybe. I'm just going off of anecdotal evidence here. Our public school system is pretty abysmal. I think it depends on where you are. I went to private school pre-8th grade and public high school. i thought both were very good.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) Maybe I just hear it more, but I actually tend to recognize the noise hybrids make more than the noise other cars make, because hybrid cars have a distinct hum, even when on the electronics. I can have a Highlander or an Escape drive past me while biking and I can tell its a hybrid by the noise because it's different from other cars. so a "white noise" theory. interesting. never thought of that. We are so used to what it is supposed ot sound like we notice something unusual. In my case, it was going only 5-10 miles per hour. So, there was very little noise produced by it.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) smart and educated are not always in concert. we tend to be ok, I am done kidding around. lol
  17. Clinton: I know nothing about my husband's pardons... How convenient.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) Same theory generally that I said about plains states. But also some other factors. Iowa was a caucus, and his ground game was excellent. Also, Iowa has historically had one of the most educated populations in the country, and those folks tend to favor Obama heavily. Smart People Support Obama Lemmings and Dumbasses Support Clinton JUST KIDDING!
  19. I'll admit it, I almost walked in front of a hybrid in my apartment complexes parking lot. Never heard it and I was looking the other way.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) FROM TPM's Josh Marshall: I have another take. Obama and Clinton are getting hammered now, but McCain is not. That means come general election time, HE'LL be the one with "new" negative information about him. Yes the GOP will try to bring up Wirght and Ayers, but most people will yawn and say it's old news.
  21. Clinton is Not Too Sure On The Facts Except it's not true. She excludes 15 caucus states (this is base don her personal beliefs that caucuses dont count) and includes MI and FL. Since FL and MI are not being included in the delegate count, the REAL total vote is 14,214,171 for Obama and 13,630,267 for Clinton. In PRIMARIES ONLY (not including MI, but INCLUDING FL), she is STILL behind Obama. 14,345,011 - 14,255,747.
  22. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:42 AM) NC GOP group to run "Rev. Wright" video attacking Obama and his supporters RNC... DONT! Here we go...
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:29 AM) Final tally, per the state of PA... Clinton: 54.3% Obama: 45.7% In terms of the vote total, Clinton wins by 8.6%. Not exactly the hug victory she was looking for, but not as close as Obama would have liked. It's now 54.6%-45.4% Clinton +9.2
