For me, Wade to Chicago is a better option than LeBron. Even if he isn't as good, there's less trash attitude - possibly cheaper too - plus he'll be back "home".

Let's take game two for the sweep and move onto Kansas City. Hopefully, this is the start of a team turn around.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ May 11, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) I've been sitting on an MLB.com gift card and was planning on ordering a jersey t-shirt of someone on the team who won my heart within the first month. I'm considering a Bieber #10 shirt now. I must admit, this whole thing caused me to download his album, and I've caught the Bieber Fever. Eenie Meanie is a great track, Biebs and Sean Kingston come on what's not to love? Are you a woman?

Would it be better for the organization to get swept by the twins?

No. It's only two games. Why not go for the gusto and wish that the team tanks the rest of their games so that they're GUARANTEED to get a top pick next year! No wait, let's wish for a 5 year tank-job so that the Sox can have the best AA team in pro baseball! Hell, why not a solid decade of wishing that they lose, it's worked so well for the Cubs! -

Both teams have Thursday off as a travel day. -
Last week was a good week - finally! Soxtalk #1, I was 10-0 and Soxtalk Keeper, I was 9-0-1. Good times.

I thought that his glasses cleared that up last year. You'd get 2 guys who are down right now (Lind, McCann) for essentially one guy (Lester). Span and Gregg (who is decent so far) are throw-ins and Buchholz is looking like a decent young pitcher. If you can handle waiting for Lind and McCann rebound and don't mind losing Lester (I might with your lack of depth at SP), then it's a decent trade for you. If I were you, I'd try to deal Austin Jackson and Gregg for McCann and Buchholz straight up in order to increase your SP depth and get a catcher. I assume that he's in love with Lester, though and may not want to substitute.

Thornton has been a better setup man than closer. When they tried to have him fill in as closer - in the past - he wasn't as effective.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 10, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) So have any of you Chicago folks had the opportunity/sad, sad misfortune of trying this Jeppson’s Malört stuff? Supposedly it is developing a bit of a cult following in the Greater Chicago area. Tucker and Torey at the Bad Booze Review have a pretty hard time choking it down. Their blog is great.

First Obama, now Bieber. Reinsdorf's going to be excited to see the ball cap sales figures.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 10, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) I wouldn't say they "murder" him. He's very hit or miss against the Twins, either he's great or horrible. Dating back to 2006 he's had 9 good outings and 8 bad outings against he Twins. When he was good he was very good (typically early in the year) and when he was bad he was real bad (typically later in the year). Actually, I knew that he gets hit hard by them sometimes, but I went over the top because I couldn't find his career stats and I knew that by posting like that, that you'd find me the stats in order to correct me. Thanks!

But, the Twins historically murder Buehrle.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 10, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) So you go from blowing Babe Ruth from every stat too maybe around 700 HR's which is less than Ruth...He was a great hitter and yes he lost some time which sucks but there is nothing underrated about him. Ruth only had 714. Williams could have had anywhere from 700-750 HR. It's all semantics anyway. ... Are you nitpicking me recently because you feel you need to defend the honor and truthfulness of Soxtalk, or are you singling me out because you just don't like me?

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 9, 2010 -> 11:14 PM) Your best pitchers should pitch in the most high-leverage situations. As some others have alluded to, there is no point in sitting your best pitchers on the bench so that lesser-quality guys can blow the lead and make him irrelevant. I was agreeing with the link, your point is my point.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 10, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) That doesnt really make sense, everyone knows his career was shortened by wars and even without them there is a decent chance he doesnt break the all time HR record unless he played another season or so at the end of his career. I meant that while east coast fans worship the guy more than he deserves, the stats he produced in limited games played could have been huge if he hadn't had prime years taken away by military service. He lost ages 24-26 and a good part of his early and mid-30s (31, 33, 34, 36) to time away from the game. You average 30 HR per year added and he could have finished with around 700.
