  1. Kickoff to the Bears game can't come soon enough.
  2. The temporary solution: don't go to the party.
  3. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 11:10 PM) Not sure how anybody can complain about the season Konerko has had. We're not. Greg brought up last season with Konerko.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) I really don't understand your position. In my world, Paulie has been a great player and last year didn't deserve the bashing. He came back nicely this year and may in fact finish with 30 HRs. Same for Dye. His track record I'd think makes it easier to not bash him. For me, it's much easier to bash a guy like Rios for making out after out after out and not blaming Oz for "not giving him regular playing time." Pleeeeeze. You didn't say that, but somebody did. I mean if Rios had hit a home run there I'd have applauded his ass. He didn't. He DPed again. My position? You asked why people boo Wise and Konerko but not Rios. I gave you reasoning as to why it may be happening. Paulie and Dye deserve criticism as much as AJ, Pods, Jenks or anyone who is still on this roster from the "magical" 2005 season. At a certain point, guys get older and regress. If a guy needs replacing because he's starting to be less effective, people will boo them or complain about them. That's the perpetual-ness of baseball. The old guys get older, then get replaced by young guys. If you are going to wear blinders against guys who won in the past but ignore their failings now, then there's always the 2005 WS DVD.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) My point is that some people are roasted on Sox talk. Some aren't as much. Like Paulie last year. Was bashed incredibly on here, yet some have nothing negative to say bout Rios. You yell about Wise because he's not meant to start and should be easy to replace. You can't yell as much about Rios because he's slumping and he's here for awhile no matter what. Paulie is slow as s*** and has hip issues. He's also an "easy" replace as a 1B, as 1B isn't as skilled of a position as CF. If he's failing and flailing about with his large contract and increasing age, of course people will call for his ouster. Just like they're calling for Dye's exit this year.
  6. Good news that Det went down and Minny will be as well.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) It's weird how it's OK to pounce on some players (Wise) and not OK to pounce on others (Rios). I would never boo Rios from the stands BTW. I don't boo players. But he deserves some venom on here. Rios has a history of success, Wise doesn't. Rios is younger and is meant to be a starter; Wise is a career journeyman.
  8. Rios' swing/legs are going to have to be looked at in the offseason. I bet if you watch video of him in 2006, you'd see a different swing and leg placement. He's far too open prior to the pitch arriving. He has nowhere to go to generate power. If he narrows the distance between his two legs, then strides to his open position as the ball is coming, he can have a better timing mechanism and more power.
  9. I bet that it's either SAP issues or satellite issues.

  11. I had worked late the night before but for some reason my mom felt the need to wake me up around 9:00am (EDT). I walked out into the living room and looked at the TV two seconds before the second plane hit WT2 live on TV. It almost didn't seem real.
  12. Wojciechowski is a Cubs fan/author. Thus, the Sosa/Thomas disparity.
  13. Honestly, there are quite a few teams in the NFC with at least an outside shot at the playoffs this season. Philadelphia Minnesota Atlanta Arizona Green Bay New York Dallas Chicago Washington New Orleans Carolina Seattle San Francisco . . . Detroit St Louis Tampa Bay ...are about the only ones that don't.
  14. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) its only begun knight. They'll be vacations handed out if it continues.
  15. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) im shocked he isnt even in the top 3 according to sportswriters His D at 3B is holding him back. Plus he wasn't up April and May.

  17. I watch Pods in "action" last night. I realized that his defense is so limited because he has no ability to have lateral movement. The batter nearly has to hit the ball right to him for Pods to be able to catch the ball.
  18. Holy f***. Those Photoshops are some clever work. you should get a better program and practice on more of them.
