QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) Hey, at least you finally admit it. The problem isn't that you don't want to be around while people are having sex, it's the fact that those two people being of the same sex is the deal breaker that makes it quite obvious that you have a problem with homosexuality. Really, your scenario is rather unrealistic, and your vision of gay men is ludicrous. How is that unrealistic? People come out long after the fact they realize they're gay or simply hide it because they don't want to be scrutinized. My vision of gay men? That's my point. I don't want that vision.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) Yeah, I've real-world experience with the s*** he's had to deal with. Even recently by hotel staff at my own wedding. I can just as easily say that it's safe to say you're naive and ignorant about the harm the opinions you're espousing here cause. It's not being naive and ignorant. Naive and ignorant would me be saying all gay people are disgusting and need to be shot. All I simply said was that I'd be ashamed if I brought a son into the world only to find out later he was gay and that I wouldn't want to be anywhere in the vicinity where gay sex was occurring.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) Clearly you do have a "problem" with gay people. You just f***ing said it. If me not wanting to be present (under the same roof) when two guys are slobbin' each other's knobs and hittin' each other from the back means I have a problem, then so be it. To me, that's not at all the same as me simply verbally or even physically attacking someone who was gay or not wanting to go anywhere near someone that was gay.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) You'll have to demonstrate an instance of me being bigoted or I'll have to ask you to retract that claim. Yes, I often aggressively argue my opinions, that doesn't mean I view all others as illegitimate or bigoted. I butt heads frequently with you, Y2HH, and ss2k5 but I don't think I've called you outright bigots--because you don't post the terrible stuff FlySox is. Yeah, everyone has opinions. But not all opinions are valid or worthwhile. Stormfront's got a lot of people with a lot of opinions and they're all terrible people for holding those opinions. This is just a lame cop-out that fails to distinguish between well-supported and well-reasoned opinions and s***ty ones like "I'd be sad for the rest of my life if my kid was gay and I'd rather he lead a miserable lie of a life so that I could be happier" No offense, but I think it's safe to say that you're a little biased and a tad oversensitive about this subject due to your brother.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) This is such an ass-backwards statement. Clearly, you do have a problem with gay people. I thought this got locked? Anyway, yeah, I don't have a "problem" with gay people. Let's put it this way. If I had a roommate and maybe a year or so down the line I found out he was gay, I'd be cool with it. As long as, of course, he realized that I don't swing that way. I would say I'd have to leave whenever he had a guy over. That would just gross me out. To know that there are two dudes gettin' it on in the room next door to me. Sorry if that sounds insensitive. Just bein' honest.

Fan dies after fall at Rangers game

Did anybody see or hear about this? Jesus f***ing christ, people. Get a clue. It's a damn baseball! And this dumbass had already snagged three of 'em. Of course, it would've been Prince Fielder's fault or the Dbacks Organization's fault had the guy fell. -
Am I the only one here in love with Chase Field? What a beautiful f***ing park. I definitely hope to see a game there at some point.

All I know is it would devastate me to know that I would never see a grandchild because my only child (assuming I just had one son) decided to be gay. And that the family name would essentially die when he died. And let's not get it twisted. Sexual preference is a choice. It's not like coming into the world black, white, etc.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) He had a point that he'd be disappointed as a father if his child turned out to be gay and implied that any 'real' man would be disappointed as well. You can have a point, but that point can be terrible. I took it is him saying that no straight man on this planet would want to bring a son into the world with aspirations of him eventually turning gay. I agree with that totally. Can one eventually accept it? Sure. But no father initially would want that for their son. And I would have to imagine that even if one's father did accept it, it'd eat away at him on the inside for eternity.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Cmon Jordan. You know better than to post some crud like you just posted. How old are you? Can't we make the Internet a better place? Would you post that if you had to put your real name and occupation on here? What? Flysox had a point. I'm not afraid to admit that.

I have no problem with gay people. But my son? Sorry, I'd be embarrassed and ashamed to know that my son was takin' it in the booty. Sorry to be so cynical.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:01 PM) How about Jackson and Rios to the Yankees for Gardner? They have to take Rios and his entire salary though or no deal. I just stabbed myself in my right butt cheek.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 10:10 AM) You're both expressing opinions. No, Balta has spoken. Because one man disregarded his personal safety for a $10 baseball anybody would. This is fact. If you don't believe this fact you're a liar. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) I had no idea Becks had been hitting. I've watched an awful lot of games lately and I thought he was as dead as everybody else in the lineup. You had no idea because cherry-picking sucks. Get back to me when Gordon gets his average up to .275. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) Vizcaino of the Braves system looked amazing Oh my goodness. You got that right. I smell a 90's-like run from the Braves on the horizon very soon. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I don't know what it is with me and prospects. Game went too damn fast.

QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Jared Mitchell...so far for July... .359/.468/.718/1.186 18Ks in 39 ABs. His BABIP must be .750 this month. I won't get excited about Mitchell in the least until he cuts that K-rate down considerably and starts to display some of that speed that had scouts saying he was the "best athlete in the draft."

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) Rolen is going because Aramis Ramirez refused to go. Everything about him just says lazy ass. That makes sense. Too bad Zimmerman and Wright have been hurt all year.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:09 PM) As stupid as it sounds, it was indeed through some fault of his. If I toss a ball to a guy who's standing on a corner and it's slightly low and he reaches for it, causing him to stumble into the path of a truck, I initiated the sequence. I didn't mean to do it, but I caused it. I absolutely think Hamilton should step in and help this kid. He's not legally obligated to do so, but he should want to do so as a human. So what if a player rips a foul ball into the right field stands and the ball hits a fan in the eye and kills him/her? Is he responsible? Hey, if Josh wants to give the kid a million bucks, good for him. All I'm saying is he doesn't owe the kid anything. -
Well thank you, Ace. It's nice to see somebody appreciates me. Instead of taking constant shots at me (Shack and to a lesser extent SS2K5). I hope to improve on my current status. I want to evolve into something supernatural. And you were too kind on qwerty. He deserves a G -----. F is too good for him. That dude is intelligent as hell and he posts once every 3 weeks? Garbage.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Really, another thread, with the exact same thing in it? You actually have a point here. Can you merge this with the Ozzie possibly getting fired thread? I don't want to jam up the board. -

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) People pay for the Ozzie plan to watch Ozzie? I didn't want to pay to watch Ozzie when he was actually playing. He was pretty bad. -
An overrated, and more importantly, overpaid major league roster full of bums, mental midgets and underachievers. A minor league system that offers nothing outside of one position player and a few relievers. A manager who, for all intents and purposes, quit on his team. A GM who really has no idea wtf he's doing and hasn't since '05. An owner who's as worthless as a submarine with screen doors. Lousy attendance. There's just nothing to like about this organization right now. We belong to one team. Not the Red Sox. Not the Yankees or Phillies. The motherf***ing Twins.

They took us to school. Yesterday was a fluke. Gardenhire lost them the game when he elected to pitch to Alexei instead of Omar. Can you believe we're tied with them in the loss column? They were 20 games under .500 like 2 days ago. -

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) It was a wild pitch but AJ should have been able to... a.) knock it down or b.) get to the pass ball with tons of time to get the out. epic fail. Without any stats in front of me, AJ has to be the worst defensive catcher in the bigs this year.
