I like this Joel Anthony. He's undersized. But he's athletic as hell and an above average shot blocker. But Boston is deep as f***.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) lol, I see your point but that's like the worst example you could give. "He was a super ultra mega badass every other month but in April he was just a super badass" Yeah, wite failed miserably with that comparison.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 25, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) And you by yourself have given him enough criticism the last few weeks for the rest of us. Damn dude, you know you're one of my favorite posters on this site but it really seems like Kenny killed a family member of yours or something. It's not really me. It's my evil twin Zordan4life.

Fantasy Basketball Draft
Thanks, Hizzle. I hate 10 team leagues. Too much talent to go around. 12 makes it more realistic.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) Who would ever predict that Uribe would win 2 games for Frisco with his bat? I'm pulling for the underdog Giants in the WS...GO GIANTS!!! So if my my math is correct, the Giants have spent $4.25 milllion on Uribe the last two years. He's posted a combined 6.0 WAR. Mark Teahen posted a -0.2 WAR in 2008/2009. We not only trade for him but give him a two-year extension before 2010 even began. Why? Um? Well, maybe because...um? Yeah, exactly.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) I've got 1 spot open in a league that drafts tonight. Just me & a few friends. http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/...assword=jumpoff JOIN! I just joined. I'm confused. Is this a 10-team or a 12-team league? I see only 10 teams but the settings are for 12.

Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
CQ was Soriano-like in that he was able to somewhat mask a below average offensive season with a ridiculous 2-week hot stretch. From June 22 through July 11 (16 games): .367/.492/1.082/1.573. 11 HRs, 24 RBIs. Now I know you can take away a lot of players' peak hot streaks and their numbers don't look as impressive. But this is pretty damn extreme in this case. Outside of those 2 weeks CQ was straight poopie.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 04:00 AM) Touche. Those were good KW trades. And they were 3-5 years ago. And KW has been given his just due. But he's been just as bad the last three years. And he deserves just as much criticism.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 04:04 AM) With all due respect and I mean no harm ... fans of both teams will tell you "f*** off." Seriously, it's a darn good WS in my mind. You know why? Cause both teams deserve to be there. Who gives a f*** about the ratings? Who gives a f*** that NY, Boston and the fricking Phillies are sitting home??? Not me. I like this WS. I like it a lot! And good luck to Texas overcoming the homecourt disadvantage since we lost the meaningless all star game. Yes the AL lost to the minor league NL. You listen to some people on here and the NL is like Class A baseball. Just can't please some folks. How many times do we hear every year, "Anybody but the Yankees." Then when we get some new blood we hear how it's going to be a s***ty series and nobody will watch. Honestly, I'm really starting to lose interest in playoff baseball (unless the Sox are there, of course). If anything, the ridiculous length of the games are what's going to keep people from tuning in. These games are just taking wayyyyyyyy too f***ing long. We're not even talking about 10-8 slugfests in which you expect the game to run longer. Even the low scoring games are taking forever. Tonight's game took 3:41 minutes. Are you serious? For a 3-2 score? And this has become a trend. I don't know what the hell can be done about it. But baseball has to come up with something. Buster Onley proposed a 15-20 second pitch clock. Sounds pretty crazy. But I'm not sure I'd be that against it.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 01:54 AM) Really? Unless I'm missing something, they still have Halladay-Oswalt-Hamels in their rotation. Despite what happened this year, that still makes them favorites to at least win the NL, IMO. lol. Did you read his post? He did say they were probably still a playoff team. Being the favorite doesn't really mean much, as they were the overwhelming favorite this year.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Renteria was a bad contract, but yeah, it's not one of the worst. Honestly, that deal made absolutely zero sense. Renteria came off a terrible season and he still got paid like he hit .330. Renteria is a terrible player. I might take Teahen over him. Teahen at 10 million a year? Oh my god.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Still, with the way Lee is going this post season, i's hard to say that trade wasn't bad. Meh, that's too easy. And they rectified that mistake by netting Oswalt. They might not have even won their division without his insane stretch to end the season. They were plenty good enough to beat the Giants. They just didn't hit.

So the Heat signed Stackhouse? WTF? NM. I guess Mike Miller is going to be out until possible January? So I guess this is just a stop-gap until he's healthy. I don't see what the hell Stackhouse offers to this team.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) I have a feeling this might have been the last time the Phillies have a super legit chance at winning it all. They'll still be a playoff team next year, but they probably won't get Werth back. That rotation of theirs is still really good, but this is not a young team and I think we might see some regressions from a lot of their position players (Rollins, Ibanez, Polanco, maybe even Utley). True. Though we get our first real look at Dominic Brown next year. And they've still got a really good system. I hope we don't have to hear s*** about Cliff Lee. The Phillies simply didn't hit like they have in the past.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
Another thing? Did this game start before 7? It's a damn shame a 3-2 game lasted this f***ing long. These playoffs games are honestly starting to bore the f*** outta me.

2010 NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies
Congrats to the Giants. They've got three of the absolute worst contacts in baseball. But when you get Uribe, Torres, Huff, Burrell, Lopez, for what, 7 million combined? In other words they were pretty damn lucky. Oh yeah, they can pitch too.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) Baseball is a weird sport, sometimes it makes no sense and that's why I love it...on that note, I'm weary of making predictions because most times they don't pan out, for instance, many thought the Detroit Tigers would be a force to reckon with for years to come after that 2006 pitching staff and they really haven't done much since and another example, how many of us here would've thought that the Rays would've won a WS by now after 2008? I wouldn't be at all surprised that if Texas wins the WS this year, they won't make it again...baseball is so unpredictable. I agree completely. And nowhere did I imply the Rangers were a dynasty in the making. But nobody can deny the potential that is there. Combine what they already have at the big league level, with the potential for some of their younger players (Andrus, Bourbon, Holland) to get better, with what they have in the minors (Martin Perez, Tanner Scheppers) and their long-term future looks excellent. They had a plan and they stuck with it. It was clear the way they had previously been doing things (i.e. loading up on overpriced free agents and trying to outslug everybody) wasn't working. So they started to invest heavily in scouting, the draft and latin america and build from within. Sure it took some time. But they're reaping the rewards now. And you have to give Nolan Ryan a hell of a lot if credit for the the culture change. He's not just a big name. He's had a legitimate impact.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) The Texas Rangers are the absolute best example of a team who traded away their best player, got the best package they could, and developed that talent to be major league ready. That Teixeira trade looks incredible, and the biggest chip in the trade - Jarrod Saltalamacchia - didn't do s*** with the Rangers and it still looks awesome. Andrus is awesome, still young, and only going to get better at the plate, and Neftali is a stud, whether in the pen or the rotation. It's sweet justice that they've reached the postseason before Teixeira, though he obviously has had little to do with that. FanGraphs posted an article before the postseason that suggested that the Rangers might have the best postseason rotation with Lee, Wilson, Lewis, and Hunter. Considering their bullpen is good enough, and their lineup is solid (with obvious room for improvement), this may not be the last time we see the Rangers in the World Series. --- early prediction - Paul Konerko signs with the Rangers, 4 years, $50 mill, after they resign Cliff Lee to a 7 year, $140 mill deal. You just kinda knew the Rangers were primed for something special. Loaded farm systems don't gurantee anything. But seemingly every major minor league site/publication/guru were in total agreement that not only did the Rangers have the best collection of talent in baseball, but by far the best. And man has their system come through. And they're still loaded. They don't have the look of a 1-year wonder at all. They could be even better next year. It's easy to forget that guys like Kinlser and Cruz spent a considerable amount of time on the DL. Hamilton missed the last month. And they only had Lee for 15 starts. And many around baseball think Feliz will ultimately end up in the rotation. And his stuff is as filthy as they come.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
This game and series is pretty much over. Congrats to the Rangers. Their front-office had a plan 3-4 years ago and they executed it beautifully.
