  1. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) I like Frank and agree that he's a whiny prima donna who can be a poor clubhouse guy at times. That's offset by the fact that he's the greatest hitter in franchise history and that was extremely gracious to the fans. Delgado is a massive weenie. He goes out of his way to disrespect America at work every day, but is more than happy to put American dollars in his bank account. I'd rather watch Thome sit on the DL all year than root for a jackass like Delgado. I also like Thome over Frank for another reason: Thome was a legitimate MVP candidate as recently as two years ago. Frank hasn't had an MVP-worthy season since 2000. Even disounting the endless injuries, Frank's ultra-productive days are far behind him. Frank was a legitimate MVP canidate as recently as 2003 -- his last healthy season.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 06:24 AM) Well, Frank is 1 for 7 with a homer and 4 k's on the spring. So much for him being in mid-season form. Besides, for Frank to be in mid-season form, he would need a boot on his left foot. Yeah, everybody knows 7 at-bats makes a season.
  3. Even the gullable idiots at Northsidebaseball.com aren't buying this.
  4. I say this is bulls***. The Brewers are an up and coming team. If they were gonna trade their top run-producer, it wouldn't be to a team in their own division.
  5. QUOTE(joeynach @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) Does anyone else think we are going to destroy the tribe tomorrow night. I am going to be there and dont even think I will be able to get to sleep tonite I will be so excited. Sabathia has had an awful spring sporting an 0-2 record with a 8.35 era. He has pitched 18.1 innings giving up 17 ER, walked 10 and struck out 22. That combined with the sox always being one of the better lefty hitting teams out there really lines us up to lay an ass whooping tomorrow night. Does anyone else agree with me and think we are gonna bash them. Will win the game. That's all I know.
  6. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) I dont care if I get pissd on the whole game, it wil be the best game ever!! That's what I call 'diehard' fan.
  7. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) How about a new question. Who will have more starts Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Bmac? Bmac.
  8. I'll say around 5. Let's face it, our guys are just too durable for him to get more than a spot-start here and there.
  9. This is gonna be some kinda offense in '06. I could see us scoring 900 runs.
  10. Excellent move by KW and the Sox. We just locked up a perennial Cy-Young canidate at a very reasnoable price for the next 3 years. I'm very happy.
  11. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) AL Central: Sox AL East: Yankees AL West: A's AL Wild Card: Indians NL Central: Cardinals NL East: Mets NL West: Dodgers NL Wild Card: Brewers AL MVP: Jim Thome NL MVP: Albert Pujols AL Cy Young: Johan Santana NL Cy Young: Jake Peavy Whoever gets thru the AL playoffs will win the World Series. Copycat
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) If he does, the most important thing for the short - term future of this ballclub is to get Don Cooper locked up to a new long - term deal. IIRC, his deal runs out at the end of 2006, and there always is the possibility of him returning to the Yanks. But hopefully KW is already working on that extension as we speak. Kenny said that he doesn't even make the trade for Thornton without Cooper's approval. That says A LOT right there. Coop's not going anywhere.
  13. I'd say Dye was pretty solid in the field.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) It has the potential to be but it also has the potential to completely blow up. There are a lot of if's in the pen but hey..the whole team was full of if's going into last season and that worked out decent I guess. I agree. I'm banking on Coop' being able to turn Thornton around. It looks as if he's already having an impact on him. And Logan, atleast for now, appears to be for real. I'm not worried about the other guys.
  15. Call me crazy, but I think the 'pen has a chance to be better than last year. A lot will have to go right, of course.
  16. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) So does the lineup. I have a feeling that Thome is really going to prove a lot of people wrong and have a killer year. I picked him as my AL MVP in the predictions thread over at the Diamond Club.
  17. I'm just gonna enjoy this year. This will be the first time I'll be able to sit back and not be stressed. What's the worst that can happen? We don't repeat? I'm not gonna freak-out over a 5 or 6 game losing streak. We're gonna have multiple stretches in which we're gonna look like s***. Am I gonna get stressed out? Nope. These guys deserve every benefit of the doubt. Come October, I know will be there.
  18. Well, I give Ozzie props for atleast giving Gooch a chance to show what he can do lower in the order. But it's clear as day that Tadahito is better served hitting second. So how long do they think Pods is gonna be out?
  19. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Vazquez as a #5 starter makes me giddy. The whole rotation makes me giddy.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 07:21 AM) Saw this the other day; Now if you're the Bulls, if you could get Pryzibilla, would you then go for someone like Rudy Gay at the top of the draft instead of Aldridge? No way. We're solid at the 3. Like Whitesox said, we need a big and a big sg. My ideal draft would be Aldridge and Brewer.
  21. I really wish everybody was gonna be there. That includes Frank, Carl and Willie.
  22. Where else can you buy these?
  23. Balta, I hate you. You said everything I wanted to say.
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) I can see them finishing below Pittsburg. Zambrano, Lee and Ramirez would have to miss significant time for them to finish below the Pirates. I'd love to see it happen, though.
