  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) But we all know that nagging groin injuries aren't good and especially suck for Podsednik. He keeps trying to steal bases and gets thrown out easily. I heard on the radio that his caught stealing today was bogus, and that he was clearly safe.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) That's fair but you said LSU is just too good so it kind of came across like you were saying LSU is better then Memphis. Stop questioning me.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Memphis is a better team then LSU imo. I agree that they're going to have to shoot better but don't expect LSU to put up a lot of points. The one thing Memphis lacks is a low-post-game changer like Davis. Whether they're a better team overall is not the question, I just think LSU is a tougher match-up.
  4. QUOTE(The Human Borch @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) thats a thing of beauty. hopefully this carries over into the season like it did for juan uribe in 2004. There's no "hopefully" when it comes to Jim Thome. If he's healthy, he's one of the best in the game.
  5. Great article. It's amazing to see how Kenny has evolved over the years.
  6. I don't see anyway UCLA beats LSU outside of both Farmer and Afflalo having good games. In other words, they can't shoot a combined 3/18, as they did against Memphis, and expect to be in the game. LSU is too good.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) In terms of individual game, the Chaminade upset is bigger and it's not even close. If you are asking what's the bigger upset between Chaminade over Virginia and George Mason beating Wichita State, UNC, MSU, and UConn....they you have a debate. But i'd still say Chaminade, Virginia was much more dominant than any team George Mason beat, and Chaminade wasn't/isn't even D1. Pretty much what I was gonna say.
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) We'll see... Lousy regular? Harsh, but true.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Can we at least note that the guy with the bit of a tweak was the guy who still hasn't gotten himself completely into playing shape, and hopefully this is just another of those cases of guys having to get back in shape while trying to go at full speed and winding up feeling sore? I'm hoping that's all it is. I'm not panicking or anything, but it's hard to forget how bad we were without SP last season. He's easily our MVP among the position players.
  10. I could care less about predictions. But damn, how are we not the favorites to atleast win the division going into the season?
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Meaning, trading Nomo to a team that will have room for him at the major league level. I know what you meant. What I can't see is somebody giving us anything outside of a box of popcorn for the guy.
  12. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) I can think of $95M reasons why bandwagon jumpers are great. Let me introduce you to Javier Vazquez, Jim Thome and Alex Cintron. The difference between this year and last is that many people will go to more games rather than less. More games attended = greater atttendance. Couldn't have said this better myself. Bandwagoners are definitely the scum of the earth. But the more that show up, the better off the Sox are. I believe where there's a will, there's always a way. If you really want to go to a game, nothing should stop you.
  13. All I wanted was to get through this last week without any injuries. :headshake
  14. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) You are correct but he's still in camp, he has not been reassigned. I believe they're trying to work out a trade for Nomo, we should know soon. A trade for Nomo?
  15. Welcome to the White Sox, Mr. Logan.
  16. I thought he was ready to go long before the 4-homer explosion the last two days. The HRs were just a matter of time.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) UCLA defense>LSU defense. It's close. I think LSUs shot-blocking ability gives them the edge.
  18. I'm getting warm again.
  19. I was a big Nomo fan back in the day. One, he was the first Japanese player to have an impact in the majors. Two, he had the funky "tornado" like delivery that made him very fun to watch. I still can't believe he through a no-hitter at Coors.
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) He's always been a "Me" player, and I think it'd be fitting if he didn't reach that goal. I guess his statements about the Sox organization makes me deem him unworthy of gaining that goal. I disagree. But I'm not gonna get into it about Frank. This has already been beaten to death.

    QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) You have him nailed perfectly as a right-handed specialist. The guy is murder on right-handers. But, so quick to discount your own offer? If he continues to work at his current rate, Logan has a nice career in front of him in major league baseball. The kid never pitched above High A, he has a ton of options left, and I'd have no reservations sending him back to the farm. That leaves us with? You guessed it. Nelson + Thornton /Nelsonmugshotavatar I like this scenario.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) He can't guard everybody. Florida is the most balanced team probably in the entire tournament next to UConn and Texas, who are both gone. I didn't say he could guard everybody. It just seems as if you're dismissing him because he doesn't score a lot.
  23. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) I personally root against his getting to Five Hundred. ::shrug:: Why?
  24. In there primes? It's not even close. Frank was the most dangerous hitter in the game until steroids took over.
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Ok I guess after further review I was wrong. Mitchell numberswise is by far the superior guard on offense, however in terms of guard depth, Florida BLOWS LSU away. Taurean Green averages 13.4 and 5 dimes a game, Lee Humphrey is at 10.7 and 2 dimes a game, and Brewer (who can play guard or forward) averages 12.6, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 dimes a game. Also, all have plus dime/turnover ratios. Darrel Mitchell is the only LSU guard that averages more than 5 points a game. He averages 17 a game along with 4 and a half dimes and 3 turnovers a game. He also shoots a solid 44 percent from the field and 40 from the arc. The thing with Mitchell is his shot has really been off this tournament since the perimeter defense is ALL OVER HIM since no other LSU guards have any offensive game at all. I think you underestimate Garrett Temple. Does he score a lot? No. But he's a stopper on the other end. He's frustrated the likes of Steve Burtt, Acie Law, Redick and both of Texas' starting guards. I wouldn't dismiss him.
