  1. This is one of the better threads in a while on PHT. I was totally ignorant to this class before today. Lots of good info and analysis up and down this thread.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) The last three times Miami was done 0-1 in a series, they won the next four games. No way in hell they win three straight in SA.
  3. Hope the Spurs really go for their nuts in game 2. Far too often the road team is content with getting 1 of the first 2 games.
  4. Man, I've never seen Parker this ice. This is definitely his team now.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) Someone needs to break it to Ciuffo that there's not a chance in hell David Price will still be with Tampa when Ciuffo makes the majors. What did he say?
  6. Damn. Dirty knows his college baseball. I don't know none of these fools.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) I repeat, you are the best White Sox fan alive. Even in this season where Paulie unfortunately is showing he's finished and our lineup is as anemic as it's ever been, and this team appears starting its inevitable decline after years of excellence, you find the positive in a game in which we laughably blow a 5-run lead in the 14th inning. You are the best fan alive. Seriously. He's '06 jphat on speed.
  8. lol. I feel like Michael Douglas sometimes and the rest of you are Glenn Close. Fortunately I don't have a Rabbit.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 06:26 AM) I've really grown weary of trying to compare guys that played the same position, but in different eras. And just forget about comparing guys who played different positions. If you judge a fish by its ability to climb trees, it fails. Basketball is played with a 12 man roster, Lebron and MJ are on the roster and starting. And, I'll take a roster of guys who have played in the past twenty years against guys who played before anytime. In fact, I'll take guys ranked 13 - 24 from the past twenty years against the top 12 of the 50s - 80s, the game has changed that much. Ok that may be a bit of hyperbole, but when was the last time Dr. J was mentioned in any GOAT thread? Oscar who? Karl Malone certainly remembers Oscar. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-don...-002126880.html lmao. Worst top 5 list I've ever seen.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 12:31 AM) Yes, as he's been pretty vocal about wanting to play for a competing team So Peavy would have to be down? ok. Otherwise, he's not going anywhere (even before tonight).
  11. Do people really think that this sorry organization would trade Peavy 6 months after he resigned with them? #loyaltyforthewin
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 12:05 AM) For sure he's a better passer. Court awareness, that I'm not so sure of. But using assists to compare a guy that plays point on offense to a guy that played off-ball to the LeBron prototype. I can agree with this. Raw assists alone is probably not the best way to go. But there's really nothing else to go on statistically. You just have to use your eyes (watching games). LeBron executes passes that rival Magic a lot of the time. Jordan passed well out of double teams. There's a big difference. s***, I think Scottie was a better passer than MJ.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 11:57 PM) ESPN: LeBron is easily close enough to overtake Jordan for GOAT. Also, I hate when they use assists and rebounds as an argument against Jordan. So a guard who played off-ball until it was clutch time has less rebounds and assists than a forward who plays the point? No s***? The one season Jordan played point he averaged 32.5/8/8. That's better than BronBron. I don't really care about rebounds. A 6'8 260 pound F is supposed to be a better rebounder than a 6'6 215 pound SG. But LeBron is no doubt a better passer and has better court awareness than MJ. Jordan: wait for the double team, find the open man. LeBron can do that and run an offense (ala Magic).
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 11:25 PM) 3-4, 2b and two rocket home runs See, this is what I'm talking about. I'm wasting time on this crap and missing out tonight. I think I'm going to just follow the Sox online only and take FULL advantage of my extra inning package (Dodgers, Rockies, Braves, Reds).
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 11:19 PM) Ok, Puig is incredible ?
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 11:09 PM) This season feels like it could get "Top 5 pick in the draft" bad. Let's hope so. This is not a contender. At all.
  17. The extra innings package is the best and worst thing that's ever happened to me. I see all these other teams packed with athleticism, prime tools, playmaking ability. Then you have the White Sox. Vomit.
  18. Last year's collapse sucks that much more. They had just about everything go right and still came up short. The Sox are suddnely incapable of back2back quality seasons (let alone playoff appearances). This dookie-fest shouldn't be surprising at all.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) I understand, but an injury to Peavy would be devastating to any rebuilding plans Hahn might have. I don't think they would trade Peavy anyway.
  20. Good thing I came into this season with zero expectations. I just can't get mad right now. This is a really lousy organization.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/04/j..._n_3383001.html I like the hat and bling. The rest sucks.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) This season has done a ton to cement Duncan's legacy, title or no. http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/story/Po...?blockID=896757 As great (and ugly) as Pop is, he knows who butters dat bread.
  23. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) Of course it would be terrible but this is ESPN we're talking about, Hyperbole Central. It's the network that kept shoving a garbage QB like Tebow down our throats FFS. About Duncan, if you're scenario plays out, of course he should move up the GOAT list, that would be 4 FMVPs and undefeated in 5 Finals series, he would even crack the top 6 IMO (MJ, Magic, KAJ, Wilt, Bird and Russell...in no particular order). Duncan's better than three of those guys now (possibly 4).
