6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:58 PM) You are the ONLY one that says that is hate........disagree with you on this. I'm sure you do. But "pathetic" and anything to do with PK don't belong in the same sentence. I thought Konerko was done in '08. He was a consistent .900 OPS guy from '09 to '12 at ages where he shoudl've been in decline. It's no surprise at all that's he's FINALLY slowing down.

6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:53 PM) Bulls*** my comment was far from hate.................you must be real bored tonight. No, that's hate. But I'm not picking on you. I've seen many disrespectful PK posts in the last month or so. Yours is just the last one I saw. Dunn? Have at it. PK? Get outta here.

6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:49 PM) exactly. I've yet to see anyone "hating" "PK is a pathetic shell of his former self." And that's just what I came across in the last 5 minutes or so in THIS thread. There are many others in other threads.

6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:44 PM) It's more no one wants to see such a fan favorite struggle. He's my favorite Sox player of all time, and I really wanted him to go out with a great season. I saw Michael Jordan with the Wizards. So nothing really fazes me in that regard. I think PK will hit better as the season goes on. But how many more .900 OPS seasons can one really expect at this stage?

lol@the Konerko hating. Dude is 37 (without PEDs that's like 47 in baseball years). The decline was inevitable. The fact that it's just now happening is kind of remarkable.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:35 PM) Yeah I've been trying to catch up reading some of the tweets on twitter. I for some reason was watching Mrs.Doubtfire for the millionth time for some reason. Nothing at all wrong with that. Robin Williams is awful. But he killed in that movie.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 10:59 PM) Well that sucked but it's not like I really believed the Pacers would pull it off, a few thoughts... 1. Every time I see Pat Riley's mug I want to punch my TV, it stills irks me that he and Wade have gotten away with breaking the rules the way they landed LeBron. 2. I can't see the Spurs beating LeBron this time around. They punked him in his first Finals but this LeBron > 07 LeBron. Plus, the Spurs are a veteran team which is a nice way to call them old. 3. Get used to seeing LeBron in the Finals over and over again. Wade and Bosh played like garbage most of this series but it didn't matter, LBJ willed them to victory. Nobody is beating this LeBron until he declines and who knows when that'll happen. I know a lot of people here give J4L a hard time for his predictions but he nailed it on the head when he was telling us back when the Big 3 got together that nobody was beating Miami in the near future. I was a skeptic so I gotta give him props. LBJ gonna destroy the NBA like Shaq and MJ before him. I don't deserve any credit for that. lol. I just didn't let my emotions (i.e. LeBron not taking his talents to Chicago) get in the way. I'll still never understand what happened to LeBron in the '11 finals. But yeah. The Heat are the team to beat while LeBron is in his prime.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) I just can't agree with that. Their other 4 starters in the playoffs were Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Sasha Pavlovic. Put Luol Deng in there instead of Lebron and they'll struggle to win 20. Plus the Pistons were legitimately good and he scored like their last 25 points in that game 5. Yeah, that Detroit team was better that year than I had remembered (totally forgot Webber was on that team). Still, LeBron pretty much did this solo.

Wade obviously showed up tonight. But it's not like he's been dominant. Bosh still sucks. Ray Allen hit a few 3's. Tonight was mostly the LeBron show. This eastern conference title for LeBron might be more impressive (as in single-handedly getting your team to the finals) than 2007.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) Is anyone listening to the ESPN Radio call? I don't think I've ever heard a professional sporting event called by such an unashamedly biased crew. Hawk looks like a fair-weather fan next to this booth. Give these guys pom poms and they're full-blown Heat cheerleaders. The year: 2005 The series: Red Sox vs White Sox The moron: Chris Berman That's as bad as I've ever seen.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) Consistency is an issue for George. Sometimes he looks like an unstoppable monster that can put it on the floor or burn you from deep. Other times he's a turnover machine that misses shots in bulk. All that and, ya know, LeBron is a 4-time MVP. He doesn't discriminate.
