  1. QUOTE (Felix @ May 18, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) I didn't read your post. My post about the "inefficiency" of Kevin Love was in reference to illinilaw08, which is why I used quotes around the exact phrase he used ("efficiency concerns") There are plenty of concerns about Kevin Love, most notably that he often b****es at refs instead of running back on D and he's not particularly good at finishing at the rim. That said, if you're concerned about efficiency for a guy that gets to the free throw line at a particularly high rate and shoots a pretty good rate from beyond the arc, you're worried about the wrong things. Yes, this is key. That's why true shooting percentage is a much better tool to use when evaluating offensive efficiency.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) (Just so I make sure I'm following stats, that doesn't take into account how much time he missed as a negative the way WAR does in baseball, right?) No. Games missed doesn't have anything to do with PER. Not that he missed many games those years, I believe.
  3. Kevin Love finished 4th and 5th in PER in '11 and '12.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 16, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) The pick was the main thing he brought up when discussing assets for Love. That pick means dick until 2016. And that's assuming the Bobcats are still awful.
  5. Pointless talking about Love. Bulls have nothing in players/assets that would peak any interest (not that they have any interest in trading him anyway).
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ May 15, 2013 -> 11:33 PM) Grizz continue to be underappreciated....that could change soon They have no perimeter shooting. They caught a huge break this series. They'll be exposed.
  7. Well, nobody will ever take Russell Westbrook for granted again. The Thunder are awful without him.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) Talk about a guy who is costing himself millions... No way. Unless there's something wrong with his arm, he's gettin' paid.
  9. QUOTE (TRU @ May 15, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) WAR, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. This fool agrees with you
  10. And Shin-Soo Choo continues to be the best off-season addition in baseball to this point.
  11. Still can't believe Rose sat out all 92 games. edit: 94
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) Nate Robinson Richard Hamilton Jimmy Butler Carlos Boozer Joakim Noah. That is NBA bad. I'm with you about tonight. This is shocking. But games 2-4 were not competitive at all.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 15, 2013 -> 07:38 PM) Lead is expanding. I just wanted to take 2. People will say 1 is an accident, but you can't say much about 2. 2 just means you belonged. I will agree with this. Especially after falling behind 18-2.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) The Heat should have killed the Bulls in this series. It shouldn't have been any where near this close. Dude, even banged up, they're not the bobcats. You're not gonna beat an NBA team by 40 points 4 times.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 15, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) And while the Bulls were tied going into the 4th in the Heat's other win the Bulls never were in a position to have a shot to win that game late. Yeah, 2k5 is trippin'. Bulls got game 1. And that was the game to get, as the Heat had been off like 10 days. But besides that, this hasn't been a competitive series at all (well, not including tonight so far).
  16. Ha. Bulls have outscored Heat 51-29 after being down 18-2.
  17. What the f*** is up with Boozer? Doesn't he realize it's May against elite competition?
  18. Like I said, 2011 was the year to get them. Now we just wait for LeBron's prime to end.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2013 -> 12:17 PM) Regression will get a lot of these guys though. Do you expect Cabrera, Hunter, Peralta, Tuiasosopo, and Infante to hit like they have all year? At the same time, I don't expect Martinez nor Avila to hit as poorly as they have all year either, and I think Jackson will hit a bit better too. Verlander's a stud, but he's not going to keep his ERA at a crisp 1.93 if he continues with his 1.21 WHIP, and Anibal Sanchez is not a 2.05 ERA pitcher. At the same time, Porcello is not a 6.68 ERA bad pitcher either. All the regression will catch up to them eventually, but I don't think it will change their winning percentage drastically. I think that's a 95 win team, at least. And, yes, crazy as it may be, I still think this Sox team can compete. Cabrera? He has no offensive ceiling. The rest? Yeah, they'll come down some. But it won't matter if the Sox are 10 or more games out by that time.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 15, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) It really bugs me that you try and plan all this out as if it is somehow reliable information. By your calculations for competing? What does that even mean? haha. I wanted to say something. But I just said f*** it. I don't get it at all. "The Sox better have X amount of wins by July 8 or else." lol.
