QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:26 PM) SA has had lots of chances to win this, turnovers + Manu + Splitter = giveaway Meh. This is the first time all postseason that all three guys showed up for the Heat. That happens, you're losing 80% of the time.
-
So much pressure on the Spurs in game 5 now. I hate 2-3-2.
-
Let's face it. The Heat have to be down in a series before they start playing.
-
Give Wade his due. He's brought it tonight.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) Dammit, the Heat are gonna win this one lol. Please. Not with the way the Spurs can hit from deep.
-
Man, they might have to move the 3-point line back. These guys have gotten so good at shooting that shot.
-
Even Stephen Curry is in awe of Danny Green's shooting display this series.
-
The defensive intensity by both teams is off the charts.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo 2h Via @eliassports No team has ever won an NBA title after losing a postseason game that season by 35+ points lol. I love all the information we have today. But gmab. It was one game. The Lakers won a title in '85 and lost a game to the Celtics by 34.
-
Damn, Diaw. That was quick.
-
And Parker's obviously fine. Which is good. I don't want any injuries on either side factoring into this thing.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) Spurs need to keep it to single digits by half. Than Wade will do his 2nd half disappearing act again. Good point. Wade hasn't brought it for a full game in months.
-
This is the Wade from '06, at least for a quarter. Super aggressive on both ends. Good start so far. I love the pace.
-
Damn. Balta swore.
-
But honestly, even if LeBron plays well, would that have mattered last night? You ain't beatin' anybody that goes 16/32 from 3. People need to stop obsessing over LeBron and give it up to the Spurs for one of the all-time spectacular finals performances.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) If the finals numbers I am getting are right, Jordan averaged 3 more PPG, shot 18 percentage points worse from the field, shot 40 percentage points better from 3, and averages .3 less TO/G in the NBA finals. I agree with 2k5 (no, for real). If you're going to be compared to MJ, you can't lay eggs in multiple finals. 2007 was fine. He was like 23 and the Spurs were the much better team. I assumed '11 was a fluke (still could be) after what he did last year.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 08:04 AM) You are so full of s***. It'd be sad if it weren't hilarious! Hilarious is that short-bus Conor Gillaspie thread you created. Good stuff there.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 12:43 AM) Not that I mind. But while he continues to do this, we need to slow down (or preferably stop altogether) the MJ comparisos. I'll never do it again if he doesn't play to his MVP self and they lose this series. If he bounces back and they still lose? Then we'll see. This will potentially be the 4th time in his career he's lost in the playoffs with home-court advantage. I cut him some slack in '09 and '10 because of the sewage he had around him.
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 11:36 PM) Tony Parker to have MRI tomorrow might miss game 4 That would be absolutely horrible.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Are you counting 2000-2005 when you're talking about the league "right now?" I kinda doubt it. If you are, then awesome, I can start making fun of Stephon Marbury, Baron Davis and Steve Francis. No. But you have to remember. I'm the outcast here. I'm the one going up against like 20 people. So maybe I didn't notice you were the only arguing up until '94 or '95.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 11:09 PM) How about we get back to making fun of Lebron for doing his best Hedo Turkoglu impersonation? and yes. He sucked. If he continues like this then let the '11 hate commence. He will have earned it.
-
lol. hold up. So the argument for all these months has been half the 90's vs today? I always thought the argument was the entire decade. whatever.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) How does the 3-point distance have anything to do with the pace? Nothing. I'm just saying PPG would be higher. I don't recall you (not saying you're lying) saying the late 90's sucked. I know for damn sure booqua has never said that. Or at least I've never seen it.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 10:54 PM) For about the 40th time, no one ever argued that the league was great in the late 90's. Notice I said "Bulls era", which ended in 97-98. And if 94-96 was a "snail-like pace", so is the current NBA. I'll say this much. Let the league move the line in as they did from '95 through '97 today and my goodness. Those three years in particular deserve an asterisk.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) You should take your own advice. The league pace this year was 92. The year before it was 91.3. In 2010/11, it was 92.1. Here are the yearly league pace totals for the 90's... 90-91: 97.8 91-92: 96.6 92-93: 96.8 93-94: 95.1 94-95: 92.9 95-96: 91.8 96-97: 90.1 97-98: 90.3 98-99: 88.9 So for the majority of the Bulls' era, the NBA was comparable or faster than the current league. So as each year went by the pace went down every year to the pathetic '99 season. So the game got slower and slower and the expansion thinned out the talent. Edit. I'll concede '90 to '93. But '94 on, s*** was ugly.
